All parents whose children attend kindergartens and schools are well aware of traditional autumn exhibitions crafts from natural material, vegetables and fruits. In general, these crafts are created from the gifts of autumn. You can come up with such crafts in advance and make them according to your own project, but if you got busy and forgot about this event, and your child surprised you in the evening with the news that “tomorrow is the last day and you need to bring it urgently,” there is no time to think and you need to do everything quickly. Therefore, in this article we will tell you how to make crafts from vegetables. We will offer you several options for such crafts that will be cute for you.

Which option to choose?

Well, in the fall, the basis for a vegetable exhibition sculpture, in general, can be found in any home. But any, so to speak, set for it can be found already in the yard in the form of leaves, twigs or sticks, seeds, berries, if there is a park nearby, then you can even get hold of pine cones and acorns there. At home, we add more plasticine, toothpicks, scraps of fabric, thread, pins with colored heads, and you can start creating.

So, everything is collected on the table and you and your child begin to create. Do not hesitate to resort to children’s imagination, because children really love such creative gatherings with adults. It is clear that an adult will do everything much faster and cleaner, but your child also needs to develop and train in creative skills and abilities, so be patient.

An elementary option is a hedgehog.

In the fall, many parents make crafts from vegetables and fruits for an exhibition. And, just for such parents, we offer our brave and very interesting ideas. For this craft we take:

  • any mushrooms,
  • bunch of rowan,
  • large carrot,
  • three chestnuts,
  • oblong pumpkin,
  • a few apples of the ranette variety,
  • spruce branches,
  • a couple of potatoes
  • all kinds of leaves (preferably multi-colored),
  • a jar of toothpicks,
  • knife and tray.

We make it step by step:

  1. We will have a tray as a clearing, so we cover it with leaves, put spruce branches, you can add different sticks to make it look like a forest floor.
  2. Our hedgehog will be in the middle of this clearing. Laying it down in the right way pumpkin, from potatoes we make legs by cutting each of them in half and attaching them with toothpicks on the sides in certain places to the body, that is, to the pumpkin. You can make cuts at the ends with a knife to look like fingers.
  3. Next up is the muzzle. We make it from a piece of peeled carrot, attach a chestnut to the tip in the form of a spout, and the caps of acorns or olives will serve as eyes. And we attach all this again to the body with a toothpick.
  4. Now we decorate the body itself. Using the remaining toothpicks, we make a needle-shaped back for the hedgehog by sticking the toothpicks into the top surface of the pumpkin. And we already string mushrooms, berries, acorns and apples on them.

That's it, the exhibition craft is ready.

Not just an original, but also an easy-to-make craft. Take a small head of cauliflower, eggplant, and olives with pepper.

A vegetable with a thick skin can make a wonderful vase. Pumpkin is best suited for this. We also take a polyoleum chisel, a screwdriver, and a knife.

Progress:

  1. After cutting off the top of the pumpkin, we remove all the pulp from it. And now we use a screwdriver to make holes in it for decoration.
  2. To apply a design on it, take a linoleum chisel; it will do an excellent job with pumpkin peel.
  3. But first we apply the drawing using a stencil.
  4. Then we use a nail to pierce holes in the pumpkin along the contour of the design. And now we draw the printed pattern with a chisel. In this case, we remove only the outer layer of the peel.
  5. In such a vase you can put not only flower bouquet, but also a bouquet of leaves or berry branches. And after the exhibition, such a craft will perfectly help decorate the festive table.

  4. We attach one of the halves to its lower part with a toothpick; this will be the tail; for greater similarity, you can apply several notches on it with a knife.
  5. From one of the butts, cutting it in half, you can make legs and attach them with toothpicks.
  6. We attach the muzzle to the upper part of the body, and use a knife to make it “toothy” from below using notches.
  7. We make eye circles from carrots and attach them to the muzzle.

Master class “Bouquet of pepper tulips”

The flowers turn out to be very authentic, especially after 12 hours - the wilted petals close, closing around the centers. But this does not spoil the view.

Photo after 12 hours

To work you will need:

  • fleshy bell pepper - yellow and red
  • cherry tomatoes - small and even
  • barbecue sticks
  • squash (for base)
  • vase - ours is woven from paper tubes
  • mug
  • red cabbage leaves, green hot peppers and viburnum branches - for decoration
  • tapeplant

Using a sharp, short knife, we cut out the peaks on the pepper, trying to ensure that both halves are neat and go into use. We wash one part, where the testes are, in water, removing the seeds and core. This can be done by hand.

Now we place the flowers on a skewer, leaving 2 cm in the middle for attaching tomatoes. We tape the stem.

The side without the base of the pepper is very soft and can quickly slide down the stem. We make a support at the bottom - we reinforce the top with electrical tape, and then on top of it - green tape.

We put a small squash into the mug - this is the basis for the bouquet. You can also use a small pumpkin or green zucchini for the vase.

We set up the bouquet. We decorate it with cabbage leaves, viburnum branches, and green hot peppers.

Crafts with added decorative elements

You can add decor from other materials to vegetables and fruits: plasticine, foamiran, feathers, material, as well as beads, buttons, berries.

Master class “The Wise Turtle”

Tortilla doesn't need any introduction. This is a famous character from the work “The Golden Key”, whom all readers love. The turtle is a symbol of wisdom, so we will make a fairy-tale hero.

We will need:

  • half a head of cabbage
  • large dark green cucumbers (without pimples)
  • wooden toothpicks and 3 skewers
  • base - flat plate and greens
  • floral wire
  • fabric for a cap, braid, needle and thread
  • scissors for cutting toothpicks
  • eyes

Let's start with the shell. Cut the cucumbers into slices of equal thickness. Divide the toothpicks in half with scissors or a knife.

If you break toothpicks with your hands, you will get uneven, furry edges and they will ruin big picture shell.

We attach each circle to the cabbage base with 3 wooden “nails”. This is enough to hold the cucumber.

For the head, cut the end of the cucumber to the required length. We select it so that the head and neck are similar - round shape, smooth.

For the beauty of the craft, we decorate the place where the neck is attached to the body with a cucumber “washer”: we make a circle of cucumber, remove the middle and put the neck on the blank.

In the body we will provide a place for the neck and select some leaves from the cabbage.

When the entire shell is ready, we will attach the turtle’s head and neck here with skewers.

We make eyes, roll the wire in the form of glasses. We make a cap from a circle of fabric.

We make legs from four columns of cucumber and attach them to toothpicks. Place the turtle on a flat plate. For beauty, we cover it with red cabbage leaves. You can use any greens.

For the surroundings - tagetes flowers, and the image of the wise and sometimes even flirtatious turtle Tortilla is completed!

An excellent and long-lasting version of turtle is made from green zucchini squash.

Secrets and subtleties of creating crafts

  1. Before starting work, all vegetables must be washed, dried, and then used as material for creativity.
  2. Wooden toothpicks, skewers, and floral wire will help.
  3. It is imperative to take into account that crafts made from vegetables or fruits have a short shelf life. Soft tomatoes and juicy cucumbers, for example, quickly “leak”, and this must be taken into account when composing compositions.
  4. It is better to use “long-term” vegetables and root vegetables: potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, cabbage, onions.
  5. Ideally, crafts should be prepared immediately before the exhibition, if time permits.
  6. It is best to place each craft on a base/stand. Otherwise, the composition will not have a logical conclusion.

YOU WILL NEED IT

Take advantage of our tips and master classes on creating a wide variety of! It's interesting, fun and useful hobby for children and adults!

Autumn is the time of colorful leaf fall, ripe fruits and vegetables. Warm autumn days good for walks, and on rainy days you can do handicrafts - make something with your children funny toys from vegetables. For example, carrot chanterelle.

Autumn fox To work you will need:

  • three carrots;
  • small orange bell pepper;
  • 3 cloves;
  • wooden toothpicks.

And don’t forget to take a photo with the fox as a souvenir of this bright autumn day.

If you decide to make flowers from vegetables, you will need:

  • one onion;
  • one beet;
  • knife with thin blade
  • cucumber.

This selection depends on what specific vegetables you are going to cut from. It could be a carrot, a tomato, or any other object. Today we will show you how to make a rose from a beet and a chrysanthemum from a bulb. You will see that it is not that difficult.

First we'll make a rose. Using a knife, cut a long piece from the beets in a circle. This is what happens when you peel potatoes in one piece.

Cut it as long as possible. Then we roll it up into a spiral.

From the remaining segment we cut off relatively small and low pieces - these are the petals.

We slip them one by one under the first piece. Now the rose is ready.

You can also cut leaves from the cucumber to go with it.

For chrysanthemums, take a medium bulb. The larger the bulb, the larger and more magnificent the flower will be. When peeling, do not cut off the root, but only lightly peel until clean. If you cut it, the outer layers will fall off.

Take a knife and cut the top layer into thin strips, sharpening the edges. We do this around the entire perimeter and disconnect the cut parts.

We repeat this step with the next layer and further, until the very end. The thinner the petals are, the more magnificent and delicate the flower will be.

The finished flower can be sprinkled with lemon juice so that it does not cause watery eyes.

Vegetable bouquet

The strip of skin with pulp should be very thin so that it can be easily rolled up. Roll the strip with the flesh inward, starting from the part that corresponds to the stalk. Fold back the last turn of the strip to simulate an open rose petal. Connect all layers using a toothpick. Place the rosette on a leaf of lettuce or place a few sprigs of parsley underneath it.

Onion flowers.

  • "Daffodils" can be cut from small white bulbs with a stem. To strengthen the stem, place a thin skewer inside the feathers. Make deep zigzag cuts on the bulbs, right down to the center. Using the tip of a knife, separate the two halves of the onion and place them in a very cold water. After some time, the “narcissists” will open up.
  • Squeeze a few drops of mayonnaise onto a feather of green onion - you will get a “lily of the valley”.
  • Flatten the green onion. Cut it on one side like a herringbone, and then cut it lengthwise and unfold it - the feather will turn into a “palm branch”.

Try cutting flowers out of radishes. To do this, cut one radish into thin circles. And cut the other one twice with a cross. Insert the circles into the slits. Isn't it beautiful?!

Multi-colored peppercorns.

  • Yellow bell pepper easily turns into a real “sunflower”. Using the sharp tip of a knife, carefully cut the pepper almost to the base into long, narrow “petals.” Cut the skin of each “petal”.
  • Place the pepper in very cold water for half an hour to an hour until the “petals” open. Cut off the thick “butt” of the eggplant and cut the skin lengthwise and crosswise several times. Pull apart slightly to get the middle of the sunflower. Insert the cut eggplant into the middle of the flower. Place the sunflower on a lettuce leaf.
  • The red and green fruits of bell peppers with shiny and dense skin are ideal for making “exotic flowers.” Divide each pod into four parts. Do not complete the cut. Use scissors to cut thinner “petals.”
  • Trim the ends of the “petals” if the pods are too long. Place the prepared “flowers” in ice water for a while.

Cucumber bells.

You can cut “bells” from a strong cucumber, carrot or beetroot. To do this, you need to carefully cut off the top layer from the end of the fruit to form a cone and roll the bell. Place carrot, tomato, and red pepper slices in the middle of the flower. Beautiful from vegetables and fruits They turned out very tasty! Of course, immediately become an artist vegetable crafts not just, but pumpkin baskets, so beloved by decorators, ordinary life to nothing. But try, learn - and everything will work out!

Culinary carving

The art of engraving on the surface of plants is represented by culinary carving. Carving - English curving (from curve, which means “to cut”) - “carved work”, “carved ornament”. Culinary carving - figured cutting of vegetables and fruits - is very popular today.

Variety of shapes, colors, different structure The skin and pulp of the fruits of nature can prompt a child to create real masterpieces of art. Take a closer look: vegetables and fruits have different shape- round, oval, oblong, flattened. This allows them to be used for the heads and torsos of real creatures and fairy-tale characters. Coloring also has a certain meaning. Potato tubers and carrots often have no smooth surface, and processes that resemble a nose, ears, hands. Such samples, of course, need to be specifically looked for in vegetable stocks, but crafts from vegetables and fruits they turn out to be very interesting. To the most unusual and bold decisions a certain plant structure, such as layering, can also push white cabbage or the wavy, “curly” structure of cauliflower... Don’t be confused by the thought that high culinary technologies or the creation of sculptural and artistic masterpieces are accessible only to specialists. 4. Cut the top off the yellow or orange bell pepper in a zigzag manner. Trim the tip and place a crown on the frog's head.

5. Place an onion lily next to the frog on a lettuce leaf. To make it, cut the onion from the surface to the center - in a zigzag around the circumference.
