Church holidays

Today we will talk about how to make beautiful children's crafts from vegetables and fruits for school and kindergarten with your own hands. Why do we love autumn? One of the reasons is the long-awaited one. When summer warmth begins to leave, it becomes cold and rainy outside, delicious, juicy fruits and vegetables delight the eye and encourage something new and creative. This is not surprising, because in the fall nature is so beautiful that we are inspired to create something.

You can collect bouquets of leaves or find the last beautiful flower and dry it in a book, or you can do something nice for your children by making children’s crafts from the same collected fruits and vegetables! It's really amazing activity, because we are accustomed to using food for its intended purpose - to eat it, but food can not only saturate the stomach, but also please the eye. We will present to you some types of beautiful fakes made from vegetables and fruits with our own hands, let your child also be involved in the manufacturing process, but remember that in this kind of fakes you need to skillfully work with a knife and other sharp equipment, so it’s better for the baby to work under adult supervision. And so let's get started, let's move on to learning how to make crafts from vegetables and fruits for school and kindergarten that you can do with your own hands.

DIY crafts from vegetables and fruits

It will now be brought to your attention a large number of crafts that you can make from fruits and vegetables with your own hands for children for kindergarten or school. Let's move on to practice.

The first children's apple craft that we will make ourselves, which we will tell you about, is called “Men made of apples.” In order to make them, we will need large apples, some pumpkin seeds, toothpicks and a knife. Manufacturing:

  • Take two such apples so that one is larger than the other, and place it on top of each other (the larger one is down, the smaller one is on top). Then carefully secure the fruit with a toothpick. The body of our little man is ready!
  • Cut 4 small pieces from another apple. Two of them will be the legs of the man, and the remaining 2, respectively, will be the hands. Also use toothpicks to attach the body parts to the torso.
  • Next, take a smaller apple and cut it in half. One of the halves will serve as a hat.
  • And in conclusion we take pumpkin seeds and use them to make eyes and nose. The mouth can be made separately by cutting off a piece from an apple, or you can carefully cut it out with a knife right on the “head”.

This homemade fake apple for kindergarten and school is ready! Let's move on to the second children's craft.

Giraffe made from carrots or potatoes

The second children's craft that we will make from vegetables includes potatoes or carrots. From these vegetables we will make a giraffe with our own hands from carrots and potatoes. So, the cooking method: take two potatoes of unequal size. The larger potato is the body of the giraffe, and the other one is the head. We make the animal's neck from a carrot, the end of which needs to be cut off. Secure the body and neck with the same regular toothpicks. Giraffe ears from carrots can be made from seeds, or from matches, carefully sticking them into the “head” of the animal. The best and easiest way to make giraffe eyes is from cereal; to do this, simply press it into the potatoes; in this case, buckwheat is suitable as a cereal.

For decoration: tall glasses, beautiful napkins and be sure to salty dough. The process of making a bouquet of berries, craft:

  • To begin, prepare the support for the bouquet, and it will consist of salt dough. It is very easy to make: mix 1 tablespoon of flour, the same amount of salt, half a glass of water and half a tablespoon sunflower oil. After this, knead the resulting dough thoroughly. It should turn out elastic and not stick to your hands, just like yeast. If this does happen, add a little water (maybe you just need to wet your hands and knead again). The base of the bouquet is ready.
  • Then we wrap the kneaded dough in a napkin so that the top of the wrapped bag is open. There we will stick the very component of the bouquet. Place the wrapped dough in a glass.
  • Let's start making a bouquet of berries in the form of a craft. You can start with any ingredients, such as cherries. Wash the berries thoroughly, dry them and carefully place them on skewers. Let these be, in a way, buds that have not yet opened. After you have secured the berries to wooden sticks, stick them into the dough, which is in our glass, in a chaotic manner. The main thing is that the end result is a beautiful composition.
  • Next, take the strawberries, wash and dry them, and then put them on other free skewers. It is recommended to put strawberries straight with leaves, so there is less chance that the berry will soften and slide down. That's it, now add the strawberries to the cherries. Place the skewers so that the berries do not interfere with each other and can stand freely, but at the same time, side by side.
  • And now the final part – the design. After we have stuck our “flowers” into the dough, the part not wrapped in a napkin still remains visible. We disguise it with our herbs (parsley or dill). It will be very good if, for example, the parsley is curly, just like flowers. Don't be afraid to go overboard green, it’s still a composition of flowers.
  • The last step is to take the most beautiful napkin, pack a glass in it so that the napkin that is inside is not visible and tie the dishes with a ribbon. This is the bouquet we got. We are sure that it will not only please the eye, but also whet the appetite! Those who come to visit you will definitely not refuse such a delicacy.

When we don’t know what so beautiful and unusual to compose as a decoration for children's table, interesting ideas come to the rescue! For example, excellent option can become a funny and cute lemon mouse, which will definitely delight little fidgets for festive table. Our master class will tell you how to create this charming addition to any children's menu, because it’s more interesting for children to eat next to such a “neighbor”!

A little cheerful lemon mouse will sit comfortably on a beautiful saucer and will entertain naughty fidgets with its appearance, making their meal exciting, even if the menu includes the usual mashed potatoes and chicken skewers.

    Products for creativity

In order for everything to work out, we just need to stock up on the following ingredients:

    • Lemon

The fruit should be bright, smooth, beautiful shape. There should be no damage or dark spots on it, because it will be the “main character” of our craft.

    • Green onions

A very small piece of just one feather is enough. We will need the bow to create antennae.

    • Black peppercorns

They will become the mouse's eyes and should be small and identical.

It is enough to take with the most with a regular blade, the main thing is that it must be very sharp. This way all cuts will be more neat and even.

    • Scissors

They can be used for kitchen use or for cutting paper, but a prerequisite is also their sharpness, we will trim some parts for accuracy.

    • Toothpick

We need it as a tool, we will not leave it in the craft. That's all! Now you can safely start making jewelry!

    Step-by-step execution

    Step 1

We cut off the side of a lemon that has been cleanly washed and dried with a towel, about 1.5 cm thick. The cut will become the base of our mouse, making it stable.

We try to cut without pressing on the lemon, so that the juice does not flow out and the cut is even.

    Step 2

We use the removed part to create “ears” and “tail”. Moving the knife along, cut off two approximately equal pieces of zest round shape. Remember, they should not turn out to be too thin so as not to bend, but excessive thickness will prevent them from being inserted into the slots on the “head”.

We trim off the excess with scissors so that the “ears” turn out exactly the same.

Now we cut out the “tail” from the cut part with a knife. Positioning the blade at an angle, draw a wavy line 4-5 cm long. Having turned the lemon, we repeat the cut, retreating from the first 2-3 mm, no more, and take out a wavy piece of zest.

If it turns out to be too wide or thick, we also adjust the shape with scissors.

    Step 3

Now we put the cut aside; we won’t need it anymore and take the knife and most of the lemon in our hands. From the place where the mouse will have a “nose”, we retreat approximately 2.5 - 3 cm, and mentally outline the location of the “ears”.

Use a knife to make 2 cuts at equal distances from each other. They should not be too deep so that the juice does not leak out, but sufficient to tuck the “ears” into them.

They can be made double, that is, cut the zest at an angle on one side and add a parallel cut to it at a distance of literally 1-1.5 mm, and remove the resulting sector. We do this so that the ears fit, and their edges do not crumple or wrinkle.

    Step 4

Now take a green onion and use a knife to very carefully cut off thin pieces about 2 cm in length from it lengthwise. They should not fall apart, but at the same time grace - necessary condition, otherwise the mouse’s antennae will not be too naturalistic.

    Step 5

There's nothing left! We make a small hole with a knife where we will insert the “tail”. To do this, we rest the tip against the zest and make a scrolling movement.

Similarly, we make holes for the eyes, where we will then place peppercorns.

Using a toothpick, tuck the tail into the hole and put the pea eyes in place.

Using a toothpick, we make small holes next to the nose on the face, where we place the green onion tendrils. We also use a toothpick for this.

For example, most often cucumbers are used to make Gena the crocodile from the well-known Soviet cartoon. Chestnuts can help complement the creation of Cheburashka.

So, look at the creativity of parents together with their children. How differently cucumbers and potatoes are decorated as crocodile and Cheburashka.

    Hedgehogs

Probably the simplest and most interesting craft is hedgehogs! How to make and what to make hedgehogs from?! They can be made from almost any vegetable or fruit.

We choose a base, such as kiwi, apple (cut in half), potato, a piece of zucchini, beets or radish. And the baby can carefully prick the toothpicks, making needles for the hedgehog.

And a hedgehog can prick dry ones on top of the needles autumn leaves, and an apple, and mushrooms and many different supplies that these little animals pull into their burrow.

Of course, everything needs to be done under the supervision of your mother or another adult. And such actions as, for example, cutting an apple are done by an adult, not a child.

    Crafts from zucchini eggplant

Zucchini will do a great job of serving as cars or piglets. Craftswomen also make shoes from zucchini or eggplant. And it looks especially beautiful with carvings on the skin in the form of a pattern.

Eggplants can be used to create very simple penguin characters.

Penguins are very easy to make. The skin is simply cut off and scored along the entire length of the eggplant, but the tail is not cut off at all. We make eyes from what we have, and if there is nothing, then progress is underway plasticine.

Here is a collection of photos of simple but very cute vegetable ideas for creating cool characters.

The snake was made from a long cucumber, peppers and olives were used to create eyes and a “scarf”.

One machine is made using zucchini, zucchini, radishes, and carrots. Everything was connected using toothpicks or matches (of course, after breaking off the sulfur).

Little frogs are cucumbers. And snowmen are apples, they can also be made using radishes or radishes. Hats in the form of a lemon slice and a carrot bow and mittens.

    Apple crafts

I really liked one idea that moms brought to life! Apples are taken, washed, and wiped dry.

Then mom makes the glaze: beat the egg whites with sugar and add a couple of drops of lemon juice.

We take a regular medical syringe, naturally NOT using a needle. And fill the syringe with our white egg-white mixture. And we draw on the skins of apples. You can draw anything: snowflakes, butterflies, simple drawings, decorative curls, arrows, faces, waves, dots, etc.

Apples are purchased beautiful view and you can just eat them later!

You can also make a wonderful caterpillar by connecting apples of the same size together using toothpicks.

To do this, we prick our fruits on both sides with a toothpick, make paws using carrots and make antennae with grapes! You can draw a face with plasticine or egg white glaze (described above how to do this).

Polka dot apples! These fruits can be decorated like this. Take red and cut circles or triangles from the skin. Do the same with a green apple or yellow color. Now, attach colored circles in reverse: green circles are attached to a red apple, and red circles are attached to a green apple.

When creating figures using fruits or vegetables, you often need to fasten the parts together. Toothpicks are best and safer for this.

If you additionally use plasticine or, especially, markers or felt-tip pens for decoration, then of course you should not eat this product.

The wealth of nature is truly so diverse! Autumn time - great time for the development of children using exactly natural material. Because it is safe, accessible and simple.

In order for the crocodile to turn out with beautiful teeth, which will be as similar as possible to the real ones, you need to design it quite carefully, make it by cutting them on both sides of the cut of the figure in the shape of triangles. It is best to make crocodile legs from the other half of the cucumber. It is also best to attach them with matches or toothpicks. For the eye, as for all other figures, you can use any berries you like. You can even make pupils using peas or even a piece of carrot. But first you will need to get rid of the sulfur.
