DIY small paper boxes. How to make a square cardboard box with your own hands

Other reasons

Actually, to be honest, the idea of creating today's educational material came to me at the moment when I realized that beautiful volumetric ones - those created using the scrapbooking technique - are simply not suitable for giving as gifts to someone who lives very far from you. It is very inconvenient to transport them to another city. And I’m generally silent about sending by mail.

Therefore, when I was faced with the question of how best and safest to deliver my postcard to the owner, I also grabbed my head and began to think about how to pack it. And almost immediately I thought about a box that would be quite dense, could be easily closed and opened, and at the same time it would take me very little time to make it. This is how the idea of creating a master class on how to make a box with a lid in 30 minutes was born.

After reading this article to the end, you will learn how to make a box according to custom sizes, suitable for your specific card, how to make a cover using a minimum of materials and how to beautifully decorate the received gift wrapping.

How to make a box with a lid - master class

In order to make such a box with a lid, we don’t need very much. Namely:

  • cardboard
  • scissors
  • watercolor paper
  • something for decoration

You don't have to use expensive designer cardboard. And although this is what I used, you can easily use regular colored cardboard purchased at an office supply store. The main thing is that it is dense enough. The optimal density for it will be 250 g/m². The size of a sheet of standard designer cardboard is approximately 30x30 cm. We only need one sheet.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to prepare scissors, in addition to regular ones, with curly ones. But this is not important. Otherwise, everything is as usual - glue for paper, as decoration - anything, from pieces of fabric, felt, beads and lace to all kinds of purchased cuttings or, which, by the way, can also be made independently. We already have a master class on this topic.

Building a circuit

We will begin our work by constructing a diagram. Let me make a reservation right away that all the calculations below were made for a 13x18 postcard. If your postcard is the same size or slightly smaller, then you can use my calculations without any problems. If the difference is large enough, then I recommend that you still calculate the dimensions of the box specifically for your postcard, so that the finished “clothes,” so to speak, are just right for your postcard.

So let's get started. And the first thing you need to do is prepare a draft version of the diagram. Then, after refinement and verification, we transfer it to cardboard. This way we will protect ourselves from mistakes and will be able to use the material more economically.

Let me remind you that our postcard has dimensions of 13x18 cm. But the box should be a little larger so that the postcard fits freely in it. Moreover, the reserves should be both in the length/width of the box and in its height relative to the postcard. After all, scrap cards usually have very voluminous decorative elements.

0.5 cm on each side, I think, will be enough. So, we draw a rectangle with sides 14x19cm.

Next we draw the sides. The height of the sides in my case will be 2 centimeters. But consider the height of your card. Perhaps someone will need more high sides. After clarifying and thinking through all the values, we will get the box diagram we need, suitable specifically for our postcard.

We will make the lid for our box one-piece. Well, or almost one-piece. A little later I will tell you in more detail why I say “almost”. The dimensions of the lid will exactly match the size of the box. And to give it (the box) greater rigidity, we will make double walls on both sides and do not forget about the allowances with which the sides will be attached to each other.

Cutting, assembling, decorating

The draft diagram (pattern) is ready and all we have to do is put it on a sheet of cardboard and trace it along the contour. I advise you not to circle with a simple pencil and certainly not with a pen. Even if you intended to do this with reverse side leaf. Better take advantage thin knitting needle and a toothpick. Well, at worst, you can't take it writing pen and translate the contours using it.

If your cardboard sheet dimensions are the same as mine (30.5 x 30.5 cm), then you will find that the pattern does not fit completely on it. But I promised you that we will do everything so as to save money and not have to start cutting another sheet. So read on.

For practical reasons, we will make the lid one-piece, as I already said, but it will consist of two parts. And we will do it beautifully and gracefully, so that no one will think that we were greedy and saved on the gift.

And in the future, you can easily use this method when making other boxes and even album covers and notebooks. And not necessarily for reasons of economy, but simply because, first of all, it is very beautiful and unusual.

After we have drawn the contours of the box onto a sheet of cardboard with a toothpick or knitting needle, we need to cut it out. Therefore, we take scissors in our hands and cut it out. We crease all the lines of future folds under the ruler.

It is worth noting here that scoring must be done very carefully. Cardboard is different from cardboard and you may well damage its top layer if you press too hard on the tool.

Don't forget about the missing part of the lid of our box. It fits perfectly on scraps of cardboard.

The template is ready. All that remains is to assemble and decorate it. We begin assembling the boxes by carefully working out the fold lines. And in order to avoid incorrect creases, we will use a ruler. By pressing it to the bend and at the same time bending the parts of the allowances and sides, we gradually assemble our beauty.

Don't forget that the side walls should be double. Therefore, we turn the upper part of the allowances inside the box and glue everything together using PVA or any other paper glue.

Now for the piece of the lid. We cut it along the very edge (inner) with curly scissors. Remember when I told you that it wouldn’t be bad to have them in your arsenal today? So this is exactly for this purpose.

We do the same with the edge of the “under-lid” of the box. We cut it and now we have what looks like two parts of the lid with curly edges. All we have to do now is connect them together. In order to do this, take a sheet watercolor paper or any other paper of similar thickness. And using the same curly scissors, we will cut out a strip 20 cm long and about 2 cm wide.

And from the remaining scraps of cardboard we will additionally cut out another strip - 20x0.7 cm - also with curly scissors. Now everything is ready. Assembling the cover.

In total we have three parts for the lid. The cardboard piece we originally cut out, a wide piece of white watercolor paper, and a narrow strip of cardboard in the same color as the box.

To the wide white strip, on top of it, we glue a narrow gray strip. Closer to the edge. And then we glue the part with the missing part of the lid to it. And we get this unusual ornament.

All that remains is to put it all together. Carefully ensuring that all cuts, joints and edges fit tightly to each other, we glue the resulting part to the lid of the box. Using scissors, we cut off the excess length of the decorative edge, if any. And that’s basically it – the box is ready!

But it would be nice to decorate it nicely somehow. I didn't put any felt or lace on top. I decided that since it will be inside paper card, then the decor should be paper. Therefore, I found such a simple butterfly in my supplies and realized that it would look very good here.

Uncomplicated, but at the same time quite fresh and elegant. I also didn’t want to overload the box with decor. After all, there will be such a beautiful postcard inside!

Using a stamp and embossing powder, I made a congratulatory inscription. Then I thought that it would be nice to also slip a piece of the veil under the bow tie, but it didn’t work out. There was no veil at home, and I didn’t want to run to the store and buy unnecessary 1.5x0.2 m instead of the required 10x10 cm of material.

But I think that it seems very beautiful anyway. Sometimes you just need to force yourself to stop so you don't get overwhelmed with work. Let this be the case, I thought and calmed down.

By the way, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the inside of the box lid is also decorated with decorative patterns. Still, it’s a great idea! All that remains is to put the card inside and solemnly present it to a dear person.

Like this. I think it's very beautiful. A neat, elegant, not pretentious box and such a wealth of decor and colors inside! Stunning contrast!

What do you think? Liked? Today we learned how to make a box with a lid with our own hands for our beautiful voluminous postcards, learned to save material for the benefit of beauty and at the same time not regret about their miserliness of frugality. We also learned to save our time, because creating such a box took us not only quite a bit of cardboard, but also time.

The decor that we learned to make today will also be quite useful when making completely different boxes made using a different technique. And also in the production of postcards, notepads and albums. I really hope that some of you really liked the idea of creating it and that you, too, will make a similar or not quite similar cardboard gift box in the near future.

Instructions

Take a large sheet of cardboard. It should be dense enough and not brittle so that it does not crack at the folds. Draw a rectangle in the center. This will be the bottom of your box. The sides of the box are adjacent to its right and left sides. They are equal to the depth of the container itself.

To the top and bottom edges The main rectangle is adjacent to two more sides of the box - front and back. Their height is equal to the height of the sides described in the previous paragraph. On the sides of each of these pieces, add flaps to connect the box. If you intend to store light objects in it, flaps 2 cm wide will be enough, otherwise it is better to increase the width as much as possible. Trim the edges of the valves at a 45 degree angle.

Bend the cardboard along all the drawn lines. Lubricate the valves with PVA glue and bend them inward, connecting them to the sides of the box.
While this is the part, make the lid. Its length and width are 2-5 mm greater than the length and width of the bottom of the box, and the height of the sides can be any. Also add sides for fastening to the two sides of the lid.

Following this pattern, you can make a cardboard box of almost any shape. Main geometric figure repeat as many times as there are sides in the box, add the bottom and flaps and make the lid a few millimeters larger than the area of the bottom of the box.

Prepare all the tools and materials for creation. Place cardboard in front of you, coat it with glue and stick paper (wrapping paper) on it. Iron it well so that there are no creases and let the workpiece dry slightly.

Turn over the cardboard wrong side up and using a ruler and pencil draw the shape shown in the figure. The size of the figure may be different, but all figures must be equal to each other. The allowance for gluing the box must be at least one centimeter, only in this case the box will ultimately turn out.

Cut out the resulting shape, bend it along dotted lines and start gluing (the side covered with colored paper should be on the outside). Glue part A to part A", glue part B to part B", glue part C to part C", glue part D to part D". When gluing, try as much as possible tighter friend Press the parts together so that there are no gaps.

In order for the product to ultimately look more elegant, it needs to be decorated. To do this, take a decorative bow (a bow is ideal contrasting color with the box itself) and glue it to the outside of the box lid (in the picture the box lid is part E). To create such a box it is only suitable thick cardboard.

To make a box, take a sheet of thick craft cardboard measuring 23*23 cm and another sheet of the same cardboard measuring 16*16. Some types of craft cardboard are quite expensive, but you can use cheaper cardboard without loss. The gift box will have a higher bottom part and a smaller lid, so sheets of cardboard will be required different sizes. The size can vary, as long as the lid and bottom fit together. Make slits in a piece of cardboard that matches the bottom of the box. This sheet should have dimensions 23*23. As a result, using scissors, you should get a design similar to an equilateral cross. The cuts should be made in this order. First, cut the sheet along the edges to a depth of 7.5 cm towards the center, also 7.5 cm away from the corners. Make 4 cuts on two opposite sides of the sheet. As a result, you should get 4 squares with a side of 7.5 cm at the corners of the cardboard sheet and 2 rectangles located between them. Then draw lines with a pencil on both sides of the sheet, marking the location of the cuts at the top and bottom. After cutting along the lines, you should get a shape resembling a cross or an addition sign. At a distance of 4 cm from the edge, cut the side edges diagonally towards the center. After this you will have triangles at the top and bottom. Now let's start working on the second, smaller sheet of cardboard. Cut it the same way as the first one, just keep in mind smaller sizes. The result is a figure that resembles a cross or an addition sign. This figure will have triangular notches at the corners. Now bend the corners where they are triangular cutouts. There will be 4 of them: 2 below and 2 above.

Now perform the same operations with the lid. Take a smaller sheet of cardboard and fold the edges of the sheet as described above. Then fold the edges of the sheet towards its center, forming the sides of the box. Lift up all four edges. Remember to ensure that the triangular cutouts are on the inside at all times. Glue the triangular cutouts to inner surface box walls. This way, you will have two halves of the box in your hands, which can be combined with glue. Then wait for the glue to dry by pressing the edges of the sides of the box. Then place the lid of the box onto its base. The homemade cardboard box is ready.

Bright original beautiful box ideal for packing your gift, because the very first impression of a gift depends on the packaging. And, of course, it will be best if you make it yourself. We will tell you how to make a small cardboard box yourself right now!

So, let's learn how to make various boxes ourselves.

How to make a square cardboard box

First, let's make a pattern. On a sheet of cardboard we draw a square or rectangle of the size we need. Then we draw straight lines of the required length from each side, determining the depth of the box. On one side of each side of the box we draw small protrusions 1-2 cm wide. Then they will need to be cut near the bottom of the box at an angle of 45 degrees. Then we cut out and bend the workpiece along each line. We glue the protrusions to the adjacent side of the box using glue or tape.

We make the lid a little larger than the box itself, literally 1-5 mm. If you make it too large, it will not stick well to it and will constantly fly off. We transfer our initial square or rectangle onto a cardboard sheet and enlarge it on each side by a few millimeters. Then we make protrusions that will hold the lid on the box. Before we start gluing the lid, we secure the workpiece with paper clips and try it on the box. If the cover turns out to be too large, you will have to draw a new one.

Looks great too packaging box in the shape of a cube. Let's try to make it too. Making a template. First, draw a square required size, then from its sides we draw five more of the same squares, four of which we place along the perimeter of the base, and the last one we attach to one of the just drawn ones. Now we make small allowances to connect the parts. After cutting out the blank, the outside needs to be painted or covered with colored paper to give it a festive look.

Finally, we glue the resulting box together. Everything is ready, now you can wrap a gift in it.

We make a triangular gift box with our own hands

On a cardboard sheet we draw a triangle, twice the size of the future finished box. We divide all the sides in half and connect their middles with lines that will correspond to the fold lines of the box.

We place our gift on the inner triangle and glue the box. If suddenly you did not make allowances for fastening the parts, you need to pierce small holes along each edge and thread colored tape through them.

Trying to make an unusual round model of the product

First, we decide on the size and select required cardboard. For the bottom and lid we use thicker cardboard than for the side surface. Draw two circles on sheets of cardboard. This will be the lid and bottom of our box. To do this, you can use the most ordinary compass. Make the diameter of the lid slightly larger than the diameter of the box. We do everything carefully, since all cut parts must have perfect shape, otherwise, the box will have a skewed appearance. At the next stage, we prepare the side surface of the box. To do this, we will use the school geometry course. It is known that the circumference is equal to Pi*2R. This is the length we need to cut out a strip of cardboard. To do this, inside the circle prepared for the bottom of the box, we draw another circle with the same center, but with a radius approximately 1 cm smaller than the radius of the blank for the bottom. We bend the strip of cardboard intended for the side into a roll. We do everything very carefully. Do not allow kinks or cracks in the cardboard. We fasten the ends with glue or tape from the inside. Then glue the side wall to the bottom of the box. To do this, we make small cuts along the entire length of the cardboard strip. Afterwards they are carefully folded. This is necessary for better contact between the bottom and the side, and, therefore, the reliability of their gluing.

DIY cardboard box diagram:

Using the same principle, we make a narrow strip of cardboard, which then, after giving it round shape, glue it to the circle intended to become the lid of the box. We carefully select the appropriate difference in the diameters of both strips, no more than a few millimeters, so that the lid does not fly off the box. For the convenience of making a small round gift box, you can use a neatly cut piece of a round tube or a cardboard towel roll for its side surface. To make the box more attractive and festive, we decorate its surface, for example, with colored patterned paper. Here everything depends on your imagination.

Hiding a surprise or a long-awaited gift from view. Finally, the ribbons are untied and crumpled - here he is! And it’s even a little pity, because the print on the paper was beautiful, and the bow was so unusual... All this beauty also cost a lot. To festive mood preserved longer, you need to carefully think through not only the surprise, but also packing box for a gift.

There is no less intrigue in the temptingly rattling box than in the rustling paper parcels. And after the holiday, it will remain a pleasant reminder and perhaps serve to store the gift itself or other things. Carefully crafted packaging will show the love and attention just as much as the gift itself. In addition, various ideas for original figured boxes can turn into an exciting quest.

How to make a gift box?

They say that good packaging is half the gift. As for the ready-made boxes that decorate the windows, this is the sad truth. The issue of price is especially acute before the New Year, March 8 and other national holidays. I want to please all my friends and family at once and, of course, I also want to pack them beautifully so that the souvenir does not look ordinary.

In such a situation they will help skillful hands and fantasy. You can decorate the finished box suitable size. There is one like this in every home, even if it’s not the most beautiful. In order to carefully paste it over, you will need very thin, durable paper and exact pattern. After all, the box will not close if the edge is untidy and folded.

How to make a gift box with your own hands? The cardboard frame can be made to your own size using minimal drawing skills. And, of course, decorate as you please.

We offer a basic layout of a rectangular and square box. You can print them to the desired scale and transfer the pattern onto a thick base. The workpiece is folded along the dotted lines. The connections on the vertical and horizontal ribs are glued.

How can you make a gift box more original? Here you don’t have to limit yourself to a rectangular template. Featuring traditional geometric shapes, packaging comes in the form of a chest, book, house, heart, Christmas tree, candy, car, various animals and so on. For small souvenirs or edible gifts you can roll up boxes from thick decorative paper, armed with origami techniques.

Here are a few interesting ideas, with which you can easily make a real masterpiece.

Bonbonniere

This is perhaps the most common type gift boxes. Translated from French, its name means candy bowl. In tall, voluminous ones they give loose sweets, like glazed nuts. The flat ones contain fragile candies with filling.

Traditionally, such bonbonnieres are given to guests at a wedding. Although, as a sign of gratitude, this gift is always appropriate. You can put anything in such a cute box. a pleasant surprise. The following diagram will show you how to make a gift box in the form of a bonbonniere.

If you bend the workpiece along the fold lines and insert the rounded parts of the heart with the slits into each other, you will not need glue. To make the ribbon look neater, it is glued not along its entire length, but in two or three places.

Another themed bonbonniere, decorated with a snowflake, consists of two parts - the bottom and the main part.

Parts of the snowflake can be immediately painted with silver paint on both sides. The workpiece is rolled along vertical ribs. One side is glued. For such a small area, it is better to use a glue stick rather than a liquid one. The hexagon bottom is glued on all sides. The top gathers into an openwork snowflake.

Origami technique

Gift boxes, folded from paper, will require accuracy and even skill. But you don’t need to bother with glue and the decor you will need is very simple. The main thing is to choose the right paper. The box will turn into a package if you choose too much thin material. However, the paper should bend easily, without creases. Therefore, very thick cardboard will also create difficulties in work.

This is a traditional box from the famous master Fumiaki Shingu. To work you need an even square sheet. It bends and unbends as indicated by the arrows in the figure.

To pack a gift in it, you need to make 2 of them: a larger one for the lid, a smaller one for the base.

And for the origami box from paper strips You will need ten curly parts. Alternation of colors is at the discretion of the author. The first two are connected at both ends without glue. The rest are added one by one. During the assembly process it hides inside small souvenir or candy. Open packaging will crumble into a handful of colorful ribbons.

For winter holidays

Boxes for New Year's gifts usually needed in large quantities- I want to please everyone with at least a small trifle. Small souvenirs or sweets in original packaging will make the festive atmosphere warmer and brighter.

A wonderful Christmas tree, for example, can be cut out using a template from several sheets of paper at once. It is important that they do not move during operation. You should not cut more than three or four at once. Each workpiece is bent in four places. Glue is applied to the figured needles.

Packaging for children's gifts

The easiest way is to surprise and delight children with beautiful boxes. Whatever the gift, the very process of taking it out of the box is a real event. Let the box be colorful and unusual, tied with ribbons that the baby will so impatiently fiddle with, and inside he will be greeted by several layers of rustling paper hiding a surprise.

Semicircular folds are drawn from the inside with the sharp end of scissors. The cardboard is slightly cut and the fold will be neat. In accordance with the idea, eyes, ears, tails and paws are glued on.

For loved ones

Gift boxes for Valentine's Day and just for special dates are usually made in the shape of a heart or decorated with a variety of decorative hearts. The color is traditionally pink or red.

Surprise for the birthday boy

A birthday gift box should be special. If you need to congratulate loved one, it’s worth spending the time and effort to create a memorable decor. This is the case when exclusive handmade. It is better to choose a durable box and turn it into a box or treasure chest. Decoupage and scrapbooking techniques will come in handy.

If the birthday person is a work colleague and just needs a small sign of attention, the packaging should be stylish, discreet, but with a twist. For small gift A box with a holiday theme will do.

L 1 and L 2 are the lengths of the sides, d of the cover and d of the bottom are the diameters of the round parts.

Box with a surprise

Little trinkets packed in beautiful boxes, made and decorated with your own hands, are sometimes valued much higher than standard bouquets and sweets. To show attention and respect, it is better to spend more time than money.

This is one of the most wonderful gift ideas. The box opens on its own, you just have to lift the lid. At the bottom there is some kind of little surprise: cake, rolled banknote, decoration or decorative composition.

Several parts for the box are cut out (the internal ones are slightly smaller). The ribs are not connected by anything, only the lid is glued. Since the product will be quite fragile, the lid should be easy to remove. You should take this into account when decorating the box.

A bow or picture is glued to the top. Three-dimensional decorative elements, photographs, and cards with wishes can be attached to multi-layer walls. Even tea bags will come in handy if inside sweet present. You can place small decorations in the center on springs or strips of hard plastic. Flowers, butterflies or confetti will fly up and out when the lid is lifted.

This box is called magic box, this is a bright representative of products using the scrapbooking technique. The magic box can be themed for any holiday. The main thing in this work is attention to detail and preservation general style. And, of course, a sense of proportion.

Where to hide a huge secret

A very large gift box can be a problem. If the gift is given in factory packaging, it is easier to cover it wrapping paper and pin a bow from paper tapes. But if you want to use your imagination, you can, for example, paint such a box with spray paints and attach a plush toy to the top.

The gift can be large and heavy. If it is installed in advance in a room for a party, you can make a box without a bottom. At the moment of presenting the gift, the box solemnly rises and... there!

Surprisingly, big boxes They also make them for small gifts. This is for lovers of intrigue. One box opens, and then another, and another, and another... Or maybe they fly out from under the lid colorful balls filled with helium? Or live tropical butterflies? No limit modern capabilities.

How to decorate a gift box?

For example, a finished shoebox will have to be covered inside and out to give the work a finished look. For the reverse side, you can use not only paper, but also thin fabric - silk or nylon.

How to decorate a gift box with ribbon? Decorative cord or ribbon for a bow will need approximately three to four times the perimeter of the box. Its splendor depends on the length of the free end, so it is better not to skimp on the length.

The gift does not have to be bandaged. Decorative elements can simply be glued to the sides and lid. All kinds of sparkles, stickers, lace flowers and butterflies, beautiful stamps, appliques - all this will significantly speed up the work on packaging.

A durable box can be decorated using decoupage or scrapbooking techniques to make it look like a box. There is a chance that she will serve in this capacity for a long time and will not bring less joy than the gift itself. Of course, this labor-intensive work is only for special occasions.

Packing from thin cardboard or the papers should not be overloaded decorative elements. Sometimes two or three rhinestones or a painted shiny border are enough.

Boxes can be decorated from the inside. To do this, they are not only pasted over with colored paper or upholstered with fabric. The packaging is filled with raffia or sisal fiber. They will be replaced by thin rustling paper, laid in sheets or cut into strips. There are special fillers - long stripes made of cellulose, dyed different colors. Using such materials you can create decorative composition, placing a gift in the center. For example, green fibers and several artificial flowers will make a mini-clearing in a box. You can place a congratulatory inscription on the inside of the lid.

Materials for stylish packaging

In craft stores you can buy accessories for decoration - beads, sequins, rhinestones, fancy stickers, appliqués, braid, ribbons, flowers - everything to realize the most complex ideas.

They sell in specialized departments

  • decorative tape, eyelets, brads, all kinds of figures, chipboards, rubbing, pendants;
  • paper and drawings for decoupage;
  • pictures, figures and tags for cutting;
  • cardstock - thin and durable cardboard for gift boxes of all colors and with any print;
  • sets of backgrounds for scrapbooking.

In addition to pencils and scissors, you may need curly staplers, stamps with colored ink, a hot-melt gun with glue, double-sided tape and plain tape.

Sometimes expensive materials can be successfully replaced with the remnants of beautiful wallpaper, labor-intensive decoupage can be hand-painted acrylic paints etc. It all depends on the desires and capabilities of the donor. The main thing is, when you get carried away with creating artistic packaging, don’t forget to put a gift inside.

A simple version of a paper box. This is my first instruction here and I tried to make it as clear and understandable as possible. Some steps were difficult for me to explain in a way that was clear, but I think everything will be clear from the photographs. If you have any problems, write in the comments and I will try to explain better.

I know there are several versions paper boxes from sheet A4, but I didn’t see my method here, so I hope it will be useful to you. Enjoy!

Stage 1: Materials

You will need:

  • 2 sheets of plain office paper (box + lid)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

You may also need some glue.

Stage 2

Fold a sheet of paper as shown in the photo.

Stage 3

Draw a line with a pencil, outlining one of the sides of the resulting triangle.

Stage 4

Cut a sheet of paper along the line.

Stage 5

Now you have a square (you can throw away the extra piece of paper).

Stage 6

Now you must fold the square along the other diagonal and unfold it again.

Stage 7

Then fold all 4 corners of the square towards the center.

Stage 8

Fold one side of the square towards the center (as shown in the photo), then fold the opposite side in the same way.

Stage 9

Now we bend the just bent sides of the square. We turn it 90 degrees and bend the other two sides of the square in the same way.

Stage 10

Make cuts as shown in the photo. The cuts should be only at the top and bottom, they should not be too deep or short.

Stage 11

Unfold the top and bottom as shown in the photo. Fold the other two sides to form a box.

Stage 12

The final stage of assembling the box. We bend the remaining two sides. Ready!

Stage 13

Now, if you have a desire, you can make the bottom for our box, i.e. the box we made in the previous steps will become the lid (it will be difficult to insert one box into another if their size is the same). In order for the lid to fit easily onto the box, we will need a ruler.

It's pretty simple. First follow steps 1 to 5 and then measure and draw a pencil line 5mm from the top and right edges of the square. After that, cut off these thin strips. Now the bottom and lid will fit perfectly into each other.

It remains to repeat steps 6 to 12 and the box with a paper lid is ready!

Stage 14

If the inner triangles at the top bend downwards, they can be secured with glue.

Stage 15

All that's left to do is connect the boxes together.
