Cash register for numbers with pockets for a first grader. Box of letters for preschoolers

Halloween

From the grocery store, I used cardboard alphabet cards.
To make a cash register for letters you will need cardboard with a thickness of 0.8 - 1 mm and 0.5 mm, thick white (glossy or matte) and colored paper, strips of calico, lederin, thick cotton or linen fabric, adhesives (PVA, bone, starch paste ). To work you will need scissors, a ruler, a square, a brush, a sharp knife or a scalpel.

Start by making the box. From cardboard with a thickness of 0.8 - 1 mm, cut out blanks for the lid (Figure 1a) and base (Figure 1b) according to the specified dimensions. To bend the sides of the lid and base, a cut with a depth of approximately half the thickness of the cardboard is first made along the fold lines indicated by the dashed line.

The corners of the lid and base are covered with strips of paper.
In the place where the lid should be attached to the base, glue strips of fabric to the cardboard on both sides. After this, the lid is glued to the base so that it can be opened and closed freely.

Box base and lid
the outside is covered with special decorative paper, and the inside with white paper. Patterns of blanks for pasting are not shown in the figures; we suggest making them yourself - it’s not difficult. For this work you need starch paste.

Now proceed to making a tablet (Figure 2) with cells for letters. For this purpose, cardboard 0.5 mm thick is used, covered on both sides with white paper. The main dimensions of the parts and the order of their assembly and gluing are clear from the figures given.

The tablet consists of a base (Figure 2a - 1 piece), cells (Figure 2b - 36 pieces), partitions (Figure 2c - 1 piece and Figure 2d - 10 pieces). Cells are made simultaneously in 9 pieces - according to the number of cells in a row. Cell blanks are bent along fold lines previously cut to half the thickness of the cardboard. The tablet is glued with PVA glue or a crutch and placed in a box with the same glue.

Make the necessary inscriptions on the box and on each cell, fill the cells with cardboard with letters. To prevent them from getting mixed up and falling out of their places, cover the cells with a sheet of cardboard or thick cellophane slightly smaller than the base of the box.

Folder for labor lessons

The son grew up and entered first grade. For labor lessons, a folder was needed in which the necessary supplies and tools would be stored. We adapted a regular stationery folder with ties. On a piece of cardboard of the same size, we laid out the tools: a ruler, a pencil, an eraser, a brush, an awl, glue, scissors, a small knife for sharpening pencils, a centimeter, spools of black and white thread, a pincushion with needles - and marked with a pencil where everything was located . Then they began to fasten it: the elastic band was passed through the holes in the cardboard and the ends were sewn on the back side.

The cardboard with the accessories and tools attached to it was pasted into a folder. Last name, first name and class were inscribed on the cover.

We suggest making a cash register of letters. These used to be sold in stores. But now something is not visible. Of course, there are a lot of games like "magnetic letters". But they have one not very good quality - the set offers all the letters, but one each. Even to write the word MOTHER, you will need to buy two sets. And if you invite your child to write the classic phrase: “MOM SOAPED THE FRAME,” then you will have to fork out for four sets.

So it’s much easier to make a cash register of letters yourself.

Take a sheet of white cardboard.

From a second similar sheet we cut out several strips about one centimeter wide. These will be pockets for letters.

Glue them onto the first sheet at a distance of seven to eight centimeters. You should end up with something similar to this drawing. The long white stripes are pockets where letters will be placed.

The cash register is ready.

Download these templates with letters - large and small.
Print out several sheets of letters on thick paper and cut out the letters. It's good if you have a color printer. The vowels are red and the consonants are black. But if the printer is black and white, you can color the letters with felt-tip pens.
That's all.

To prevent the letters from getting lost, you can put everything in a suitable size candy box.

Our preschooler will soon turn five years old. In two years - to school.

In kindergarten, we were given the task of making a box of letters according to the following parameters.

ABC sizes: 24cm x 24cm (no more than 25cm!) – 6 rows of 6 pockets.

On pockets: vowels are red, consonants and signs- black color.

B letters (on thick paper or cardboard):

all vowels– red (5-6 pcs.)

consonantsblue (3-4 pcs.) And green (3-4 pcs.) colors

Sh, F, C – only blue (4-5 pcs.)

J, Ch, Shch – only green (4-5 pcs.)

b, b– black (b: 5-6 pcs.; b: 3-4 pcs.)

The child will practice this alphabet almost every day for two years. Therefore, the alphabet should be durable, comfortable and beautiful.

We made the ABC and share our experience with you.

HOW TO SEW A CASH LETTERS. Details in photos and videos

For the inside we need fabric square and adhesive size 25x25 cm. Also, strips of fabric or rubber 3-3.5 cm wide

LETTER POCKETS

We will sew pockets for letters on the inner surface.

Pocket width 3.8-4cm

Letters should be made of thin cardboard.

We printed colored letters on thick photo paper and covered them with transparent tape. Square size for letters 3cm.

INNER SURFACE OF CASH LETTERS

The width of the pockets is 3.8 cm. The width at the top is 4.5 cm. The distance between lines is 3.8 cm. One centimeter retreated from below. In the center of the alphabet, I made a 1cm distance between the pockets for the bend (look at the photo)

Master class with step-by-step photos “Do-it-yourself cash register for letters”

Berezkina Tatyana Aleksandrovna, mathematics teacher, Nikolskaya boarding school for children with disabilities in the Kostroma region.

The master class is designed for teachers and educators.
Purpose: The work presented to your attention is a visual aid for educators, primary education teachers, correctional schools, speech therapists, and speech pathologists.
Goals: equipping the office with visual aids.
Tasks:
- teach techniques for making visual aids with your own hands;
- development of creative abilities and imagination;
- education of aesthetic taste.
For work we will need the following materials and tools:

- polyethylene film;
-remnants of furniture fabric;
- bias binding;
- sewing threads
- tape measure;
- ruler, pencil, eraser;
- scissors;
- sewing electrical equipment;
Progress:
1. Combine the remaining fabric into a flap measuring at least 62x67 cm. Cut the plastic film into strips 10 cm wide, 6 times 62 cm long.

2. We edge one section of plastic film with bias tape. We make markings on the fabric: every 10 cm we draw 6 horizontal lines. If the fabric has stitched seams, it is better for the marking to be 0.3 cm from the seam, along the seam allowance.

3. Place one strip of polyethylene 62 cm long to the side, and edge the rest on the other side.

4. Place and stitch 5 strips processed on both sides onto the base according to the markings, starting from the top marking line. We put the line in the line of the edge seam.

5. Combine the raw cut of the sixth polyethylene strip with the lower cut of the base. Trim the top edge of the base 5 cm from the top pocket.

6. Having stepped back 10 cm from the lower right corner, 5 cm from the beginning of the bias tape, we begin to edge the cash register.

7. We edge in a circle, finishing 3 cm after the fourth corner. We make folds at the corners.

8. Cut off the ends of the binding at an angle of 450 with a 1 cm overlap.

9. Sew the bias tape 0.5 cm from the cut

10. Stitch along the missing area. Finished the edging.

11. Mark vertical stripes on the reverse side of the cash register. To determine the exact distance between the stripes, you need to divide the width of the base (take the measurement between the edging lines) by 6. Make machine stitches.

12. The cash register is ready. Think about how to attach the cash register to the wall.
I'm sharing my solution. Work the remaining fabric 15*62 with a zigzag stitch.

13. Place the cash register with the wrong side on the right side of the processed flap and stitch into the edge stitch line.

14. We fasten the cash register to the wall with a construction stapler: mark the top line on the wall, direct the cash register “upside down”, align the top edged edge with the markings on the wall and lay a row of paper clips or nails just below the stitch seam. Then we bend the cash register down. There are no paper clips or nails visible on the front side of the cash register – it’s simple and aesthetically pleasing.
15. Insert the letters into the pockets and you're done.

Good luck to everyone in educating and educating our younger generation.
