Usually, sweets, keychains, beads, bracelets and small souvenirs are placed in the pockets of the calendar. And also tiny cards with instructive stories, wishes or fairy tales on a holiday theme.

In Russia, the tradition of using advent calendars appeared relatively recently. In our country, the main children's holiday is New Year. So we count the days not until Christmas, but until the New Year, so the number of calendar windows is usually chosen to be 31 (from December 1st to December 31st) or 10 (the last ten days of December). But you can count the days until Christmas just like in Europe, but in our case there will be 7 windows (from January 1st to January 7th).
