Step-by-step instructions for felting a cosmetic bag

The wool layout of each side of the product consists of two layers. Try to pull the same translucent strands from the wool tape during the layout.

Place the pattern under the bubble wrap and start laying out the front surface with vertical strands from the bottom row. Lay the strands so that the thin tips lie beyond the contour of the pattern at the junction of the sides along the lower and upper cuts.

Lay out the horizontal strands according to the heart pattern (wrong side).

Cover the layout with a nylon cloth, moisten with soapy water and rub the entire surface. Lift the fabric and lay it again, carefully lap in place of the heart.

Align the contours of the heart with the pattern from the film, press firmly.

Spread the vertical and horizontal layers of six cherry colors over the surface of the heart.

Spread the second horizontal layer of wool over the entire surface of the cosmetic bag, laying the thin ends of the strands outward at the junction of the sides. Cover with a nylon cloth, moisten and rub.

Place a template from the film of the upper part of the pattern on the wool, use a knife to lift the protruding tips and bend them.

Gently pull out the template, press down on the curled ends and rub through the fabric. Thus, an even semicircular valve of the cosmetic bag was obtained.

Place the upper and lower parts of the pattern on the entire surface of the cosmetic bag, lift and bend the tips of the lower part.

Lay out the second side of the cosmetic bag (bottom part) with horizontal strands (wrong side).

Lay out the front side of the cosmetic bag, also starting from the bottom edge, with an allowance for connecting the sides. Lay the strands flush along the cut line. Cover with a nylon cloth, moisten and rub.

Turn the product over to the other side, bend the tips and rub.

Flip. Bend the protruding tips along the cut line, press, rub.

Polish the product with your hands or with a vibration grinder (respectively, 15 or 5 minutes on each side). While lapping with your hands, periodically lift the tulle, and while lapping the machine, lift the tulle after a few touches so that the wool does not stick to the fabric.

You can attach a long handle to the cosmetic bag, then you can carry it like a small handbag. Separate a thin strand of 180 cm from the wool ribbon (make sure that the strand has the same thickness along the entire length), roll it into a bundle on a bubble wrap and felt it in your hands.

Wrap the product on a felting stick and in a bamboo mat. Roll the cosmetic bag in a roll, turn the roll every 5 minutes and change the position of the product by 90º. Turn the cosmetic bag over to the other side and roll-roll for another 20 minutes.

Unfold the roll, remove the patterns from the film. A pattern of a heart will protrude through the wool. Mark the heart with a gel pen, departing from the contour of 1 cm, cut it out with sharp scissors.

Wash the contour of the heart with your hands in plastic gloves, then remove the pattern from the film. Rub the inside of the cosmetic bag and the side seams with your hands.

Roll the cosmetic bag in your hands until ready (watch the sizes). Crumple it in your hands, add soapy water if necessary, smooth it on the table. When ready, dip the cosmetic bag in hot and cold water, squeeze, rinse off the soap in warm water, pat dry in a towel.

Straighten and dry your makeup bag. In a slightly damp state, it can be steamed with an iron.

Sew a button under the valve, thread the handle through the hole with an awl, and the cosmetic bag is ready.

Have a nice holiday, tender love and mutual love!

I am glad to welcome you to our Petelka!

Today I suggest you make a wonderful cosmetic bag out of wool, I think that such beauty can also be used as a clutch. Our cosmetic bag is made using the wet felting technique and here you will not need needles, because. prepare warm soapy water and don't be afraid to wet your hands))).

Original things have always been appreciated, and the so-called handmade cause admiration and respect among people, because at present not everyone is engaged in creativity and needlework.

So, for work we need

Wool green and blue

Soap and water

Our makeup bag template

felting rug

To begin with, we will make a pattern, determine the desired dimensions yourself, but remember this is not a big handbag, not a bag for potatoes))). Round the bottom.

We spread a woolen blue cord of wool rolled up in our hands on the rug, its length is about 1.5 m, because. you need to leave a long end for the tie.

Now we take and tear off the green wool in small pieces and carefully wrap the sides of our rug, and then the entire surface of our handbag. We put the strands in different directions, this is necessary so that the wool is well felted.

In the end, we should get a uniform layer of green wool about 2 cm, because. when we felt the wool, it should be about 0.5 cm thick.

Now, we need to wet our yarn, but this must be done very carefully, move from the edges to the middle, but try not to wet the ends of the strands that go to the back. While our water has not cooled down, we begin to dump the wool. In order for our wool to fall off, but the pattern and shape not to be deformed, it is necessary to “massage” our wool very carefully in circular motions. There is such a golden rule from felting professionals - "If you rub each section of the fabric with your hand 100 times, then it falls off."

After our layer has fallen off, we need to turn our purse over and carefully smooth out all the folds of the strands that pass from the side of the face to the back side.

Now lay out the strands on the back side. Do not forget that the design of our cosmetic bag assumes that the front surface is slightly longer than the back (by the length of the overlap).

Work - master class " Cosmetic bag "Hedgehog" in the technique of wet felting wool«.

Hello! Today with you Simova Yulia Valerievna, a teacher of additional education at the Center for Children's Creativity in the Kamensky district of the Penza region, and I will share some secrets of creating an exclusive thing with my own hands.

For a long time I wanted to make a cosmetic bag, because often the lipstick “walked” around the bag ... I came up with this idea: a cosmetic bag in the shape of a hedgehog.

So, we need materials such as gray felting wool 50 g for the main part and many small "tails" of different colors.

We prepare the basis of the film, it should be 30% more than the desired thing.

We spread a pimply film on the table and begin to lay out the wool, first in vertical rows, then horizontally so that there are no gaps.

We impregnate through the mesh with warm soapy water, pressing the work.

We turn the work over, taking it gently by the side. We fill with a wet hand on the base of the fibers that go beyond the border of the base (it is imperative that at least 1 cm should come out so that there are no holes along the edges.

We repeat laying out on the other side in the same order, vertically - horizontally, we impregnate and fill the edges on the other side, after turning the product over.

Now is the time for fantasy. We lay out another layer of wool, for this we mix gray with brown, we denote needles with white strokes. We draw everything that resembles autumn (leaves, mushrooms, apples) on the front side, and on the back, only a muzzle.

We impregnate with warm soapy water and gently rub the pattern through the film, making sure that it does not move. Then, with stronger movements, three in both directions, so that the product shrinks evenly. alternately on both sides.

Then we wring out the product, if the fibers do not separate, and the base has become small, it's time to cut it to remove the base, we make a hole according to the size of the lock.

We roll the cut edge so that it does not crumble, smooth the edges, putting it on the hand so that there are no “scars”, turn it upside down (we see the hedgehog’s legs), also rub it well.

We turn it inside out, repeat the whole process of friction again until the wool falls off.

We rinse the finished product with slightly warm water, do not twist it! Squeeze gently, you can roll with a rolling pin through a terry towel. To dry, stuff with pieces of film to give shape. Lay to dry on a towel.

We could stop at this, but while the product dries, we make a small addition, so to speak, the final touch.

We form small balls from red wool, waving with a needle until the desired shape is given.

We will prepare a large needle with a black thread, sew a rowan carefully through the center, tie a knot at the end, after the rowan we also make a knot so that it does not move.

When all pairs are ready, we connect with a thread, we tie.

It's time to sew on the zipper. We sew.

The final touch is to fix the rowan brush in the place you like. We love work.

We use it for its intended purpose: we fold cosmetics.

Thank you for your attention! Good luck to all!

Felting is an incredibly fun activity. You can dump almost everything - from boots to jewelry. And, in order to be convinced of the amazing possibilities of wool, we dump such a winter cosmetic bag, especially since it is not at all difficult.

We'll need

  • felting wool of any color (or several colors)
  • some real silk
  • bubble wrap
  • template (preferably a foam sheet)
  • soap solution
  • massage roller (optional)
  • lightning
  • beads, beads for decoration

Progress

We make a blank

  1. On a pimply film we place a template for a future cosmetic bag with a 2: 1 size ratio. We begin to gradually lay out the wool, 1.5-2 cm beyond the edges of the template. We evenly distribute the wool, trying not to leave gaps.
  2. Having laid out one layer, we begin to lay out the second, laying out the wool fibers now across. In total, you need to lay out 4 uniform layers.
  3. In order to enliven the monochromatic color of the cosmetic bag a little, we randomly lay out a few strands of wool in a contrasting color and a few strands of natural silk on top.
  4. With a soapy solution (100 grams of hot water and 1 dose of liquid soap), we sprinkle the wool a little so that it is a little nailed and gently with our hands or using a roller from a plastic bag we begin to wet the wool.
  5. We cover the woolen layout with cellophane and, using a roller massager, roll it over the wool in different directions for 2-3 minutes.
  6. We remove the film, turn the workpiece over, bend all the edges.

  7. We cover the reverse side with wool, just like the first one, decorate with contrasting and silk fibers.
  8. Wet, cover with a film on top and roll for several minutes.

  9. We remove the film, carefully turn it over, bend the edges. We get a complete set.

Dumping the wool

  1. We wrap our workpiece with a pimply film and roll for 10 minutes, periodically turning over and adding a hot soapy solution. Foam should always be, but not too much. Excess foam must be removed.
  2. We remove the film, roll it over the wool with a massager and palms in circular and stroking movements for another 10 minutes, periodically changing sides and adding a hot solution.
  3. At this point, the wool has already adhered enough, we begin to rub the canvas with our fingers, carefully working through each section for 10 seconds.
  4. At this stage, the wool fibers will begin to shrink. We throw the workpiece with force, hitting the table covered with a pimply film. We do this for about 5 minutes. At the end, you will see that the cosmetic bag has decently decreased in size.
  5. We take the workpiece in our hands and with three hands for about 5 minutes. We periodically straighten and see which area is still to be worked out, because the more three, the more the wool falls off. We do this until the walls of the cosmetic bag become dense, and the size of the product suits you.

Making a cosmetic bag

  1. Now you need to carefully cut one side of the workpiece, where the top of the cosmetic bag will be. The template is curled up inside, we pull it out, it will no longer be useful. As you can see, the cosmetic bag fell off the template almost twice.

  2. Wet the edges with a little hot soapy water and rub with your fingers for 20 seconds in each area.
  3. Wet the cosmetic bag thoroughly with a towel so that excess moisture is absorbed into it as much as possible. Then lay out, leveling the edges and corners. While the wool is wet, it can be pulled as you like, thereby giving the desired shape. Leave to dry in a warm place.

It is insanely pleasant to hold it in your hands, you can proudly get it in front of your friends from your bag. And most importantly, with the warmth of the soul that you have invested in it while making it, it will keep your cosmetic riches.

The method of wet and dry felting has been used in practice for a very long time, however, before it was just shoes and clothes, and today jewelry and accessories are made using this technique. We also want to tell you how to make an original cosmetic bag using the wet and dry felting technique.

For work we need:
- wool for felting,
- special needle for felting No. 38,
- film or mesh for felting,
- scissors and stencil.

Before starting work, we will select the colors of our cosmetic bag and the finishes on it. In our case, we chose two colors - lilac for cosmetics, and light green for decoration. Before starting work, it is worth recalling that during wet felting, wool always shrinks by 25-30%. Also, our finished rug will need to be cut around the edges, this should also be taken into account when forming a rug for a cosmetic bag.

Let's get to work. We take a batting and lay five layers of lilac wool on it, put the wool across one ball to another (the first horizontally, the second vertically, etc.). Then we take water and carefully watering it, we disperse it along the edge in order to capture the entire volume. Initially, we roll with our hands for about 10 minutes, this is necessary in order not to knock down the layers of wool. Our wool on top should be covered with batting for better shape retention and felt through it first with your hands, and then with a special massager. The massager is shaped like an ordinary rolling pin, which can replace it, but for this you need to have skills in, and if there are none, then it is better to use a massager. When we see that the wool has thickened a little, the top layer of batting can be removed and continue to felt with a massager without it. Then we rinse the finished rug and dry it, we get a dry rug of indefinite shape.

The next step will be stenciling. We want to get a pattern of three rows, reminiscent of an embroidered cord. We take a ready-made stencil and already light green wool, which, using a felting needle, is carefully placed in the stencil along the slots and at the end of the strand, we cut off the rest of the wool. Then everything is clear - this wool must be stenciled into a ready-made felt rug, initially we work with a stencil, and when the wool has already adhered well to the main felt, we remove the stencil and continue to work without it, using a needle for trimming. After the first element, we shift the stencil to the next place and make a second similar row, followed by the next one. So we got three rows of twisted weave finishes. Sometimes a slight shift along the row can turn out, but such a flaw is allowed.

The next steps are. We need to cut around the edges of the resulting workpiece. In addition to a smooth edge on three sides, rounding off the cosmetic bag valve must be made on the fourth. To do this, use any round object or, if there is a template. We got a rectangular felt cloth with rounded edges on one side. From this canvas we need to sew a cosmetic bag. We place the fabric so that the finishing strips are vertical with respect to the finished product and we sew our cosmetic bag on a typewriter. In the upper part we attach a large decorative button or sew on a beautiful button and make a loop. Now our makeup bag is ready. Lining for such a cosmetic bag is not required, although, if desired, you can sew it inside, after sewing a bag of appropriate sizes from the lining fabric. We did not indicate the sizes, you will choose them yourself at your own discretion, depending on what such a cosmetic bag will serve you. Having learned to wet felting, you can make many other interesting things, such as Christmas tree decorations, souvenirs and toys, and many other interesting items.
