Making a hoop with your own hands - step-by-step photos. Hair hoop - a stylish and effective decoration

For children

Headbands and elastic bands are back in fashion. In addition, they have become a favorite accessory not only of the owners long hair, but also short haircuts. Attentive needlewomen noticed this in time and headbands and elastic bands for every taste appeared on the shelves. This article is for those who get incredible pleasure not only from beautiful things, but also from the process of creating them. And today we will make, as you may have guessed, fashionable hair accessories.

And for starters, a small “technical” digression. The base for the headband can be bought in stores specializing in hand-made materials, but in the absence of one, you can disassemble an old unnecessary headband. Sometimes I even specially buy headbands (if I suddenly find the right width or color) in order to peel off the “native” decoration and replace it with my own decor.

1. Headband with artificial flowers

The simplest decor option: buy a hoop, a sprig of artificial flowers you like and combine one with the other. That is, cut off the flowers at the base (you can have leaves, if the idea requires it) and glue them to the rim. It’s good if its base is wide - the flowers “sit” firmly. If the hoop is thin, then it is better to first “plant” the buds on a piece of rough fabric or felt, and then glue it to the base. The edges of the fabric protruding on the other side need to be folded and glued. If necessary, glue or sew a thin tape “from the inside” to brighten up unsightly seams.

Advice: first think through the composition well, and then glue the flowers! This will save you from unpleasant surprises in consequence.

Of course, artificial flowers You can do it yourself, but for this you will need special tools - bevels and cutters. And a lot of practice. Boucles are iron balls that, when heated, can be used to beautifully bend and twist a petal of a future flower cut out of fabric. The incisors make veins on the foliage. With constant practice, you can learn to make flowers that look not much different from real ones!

2.Felt

A lot has been said about felt on the pages of our magazine. But I will not stop reminding you that this is one of the most beneficial materials for needlework! Unpretentious, pleasant texture, quite durable and soft at the same time... What can I say? You need to take it and try it.

A small master class:

3.Lace headbands

In something like accessories, you can’t do without lace. The easiest way to make an elegant openwork headband is to buy a wide ribbon of lace (the required length can only be found by measuring the circumference of your head and subtracting the couple of centimeters that the elastic will “take away”) and a small piece of elastic “to match.” Now carefully process the cuts on the lace, simply folding them a couple of times and securely hemming them inside the product. Sew on the elastic and that’s it!

You can also use thin strips of lace. In this case, notice how beautiful several thin ribbons look on your hair! Also try decorating finished work bow or brooch. Advice: if you cannot find wide lace of the desired color or texture, feel free to buy thin tapes– they can always be sewn unnoticeably in two rows!

4.Feathers

Feathers are a rather fancy material. Not in use - they are easy to glue, cut, shorten, repaint, etc. The fact is that this material does not like to be overdone. It's hard to arrange a lot of feathers without looking like a big peacock. Therefore, observe the measure - most often one, maximum three feathers are enough.

5.Fabric flowers

An alternative to artificial flowers! Moreover, for this you do not need special tools, but only scraps, threads, glue and a little imagination.

There are many ways to make a luxurious bud from a piece of fabric. First option: you can cut out each petal separately and burn its edges over a candle so that they do not fray. Chiffon and satin are ideal for this, and certainly not lining fabrics, which simply burst into flames upon contact with fire! It is also difficult to “burn” durable fabrics such as jeans.

Second option: use lace. They don’t need to be processed, just “gather” them onto a thread into a bud and that’s it.

Third: cut out a piece of “ribbon” from any fabric you like and fold it in half. Thread the fabric onto a thread and gather it into a flower. This option is good because you don’t need to process the edges of the material, and you don’t have to think about its density and texture.

6.Miniature hat with headband

Looks very elegant with evening dress tablet caps or small cylinders. In order for such “little things” to sit comfortably and firmly on a neat head, I advise you to attach them to hoops that are not difficult to hide in your curls.

7. Harnesses

Headbands decorated with strands appeared relatively recently. But they immediately appealed to many people. Simple and very elegant. The principle of working with such material is simple: measure the rope of the required length, glue pieces of tape to the incision sites (to hide any “ugliness”), attach an elastic band and that’s it.

Another option: before you start “assembling” the rim, make a beautiful decorative knot on the strand (or better yet, use two or three strands). You can also glue the tourniquet onto the fabric, bending it somehow... unusually. Then this blank can be attached to the base - on the side, like a brooch, or on the entire hoop.

8. Rhinestones

With rhinestones, as with feathers, you need to be careful. There are rarely few of them, but very often there are too many. Remember that rhinestones should be a light addition to the decoration, and in no case the basis!

9.Pearls

As Coco Chanel said, nothing adorns a woman like a string of pearls. Even if the woman is only wearing this thread!

Notice how charming the headband option looks, where pearls are simply strung on an elastic band and decorated with three chiffon flowers...

In the hair. Today, various hoops and headbands are also at the peak of fashion. They suit almost any hairstyle and every face type. Moreover, they look great not only with loose hair, but also with it in a braid or ponytail. In addition to the beauty they add to the hairstyle, a clear advantage of hoops is their ease of use. Among other things, these hair accessories are possible not only in wide range purchase in the store, but also easily make a hoop.

Modern headbands can be recreated from different material, but most often plastic and metal are used for their manufacture. Also relevant on currently Tighten the base of the product using fabric. Choosing a hoop to suit your taste is not an issue special labor. Fortunately, their choice is quite large - these include hoops equipped with rhinestones and stones, and headbands with flowers, lace and even buttons. If you want to get a hoop that perfectly matches a certain outfit, you can purchase a base and decorate it to your own taste. If necessary, you can completely focus on creating a hoop.

In order to make your own hair hoop, you need to have several required items on hand. First of all, this concerns the weaving frame, which can also be replaced wooden frame. The only thing is that you will need to drive nails into such a frame at an equal distance from each other. You can use a bobbin elastic band as the base of the rim. It is possible to make a future hoop. Therefore, in addition to the existing items, you should purchase the beads themselves, a needle, fishing line or thread for beads. There should also be a few pieces of bobbin elastic available.

You need to start creating the rim by securing the rubber bands to the frame. Then, stepping back about 3 cm from the end of the frame, you should tie a needle and thread - they will be needed later for threading the beads. Beads are strung on a thread in the amount of beads you would like to have in a row. Next, the thread, with the beads already strung, is pulled over the elastic band opposite edge frames The beads, in turn, are distributed in such a way as to end up in the gap between the 2 rubber bands. Then another row of beads is threaded onto the needle and the thread is threaded in the opposite direction. Thus, you need to weave the hoop to the required length. It is important that the rows of beads have maximum tension. If desired, you can add a bezel and other decorative elements, both during weaving and at the conclusion of the work.

Here is a photo of our headband with flowers that we will be making:

Materials for creating kanzashi decoration:

  • white and blue satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide - 20 squares for one flower;
  • double-sided stamens (preferably white and blue) - 5 pieces for one flower;
  • ready green sepals - 9 pieces;

  • scissors;
  • lighter;
  • hoop.

Stages of decorating a hair hoop with kanzashi flowers:

We make flowers for the hoop with our own hands

Cut the white and blue ribbon into squares, the sides of which are 2.5 cm. Each flower will consist of three tiers, the number of petals in which is 5, 7 and 8 pieces. Thus, 20 squares are needed for one flower; in total, 9 flowers (4 blue and 5 white) will be used to decorate the hoop.

Cut out a droplet from the first, for example blue, square. Then use the first piece as a template. Cut out identical parts from all prepared sections.

Carefully singe the edge of each droplet to seal the threads along the edge of the workpiece. Immediately after flame treatment of the tape, press the fabric with your fingers.

Assemble the first (top) tier of the flower from five petals. Glue the wreath together, overlapping each next petal. Leave a hole in the central part of the flower for attaching the stamens, try not to apply glue to this point.

Prepare a similar second tier of petals using 7 parts.

The third layer should consist of 8 parts.

Make 3 tiers for white flowers.

Prepare the first layer for blue flower, consisting of 5 parts, not forgetting the hole in the center.

And also make a third layer of 8 parts.

Collect 3 flowers for a blue composition.

Collect the stamens into bunches (5 pieces each). Bend in the center and secure the base of the bouquet with glue.

For a white flower, it is more rational to use a blue core. Insert the base of the stamen bouquet into the center hole.

Do the same with the blue blank and white stamens.

Attach the second and third layers to the first tier with stamens, slightly moving the petals. In this case, the flower will look magnificent.

Prepare blue lush flower, With reverse side The base of the stamens should be glued to the bottom layer of the petals, and then the excess should be trimmed off.

Prepare small sepals to decorate the lower tier of flowers.

Glue the sepal to the center.
