Mk New Year's shoe made from plastic bottles. Santa's boot made from plastic bottles

Original

In the West, there is a tradition: at Christmas time, hang boots and socks on the fireplace and stairs. According to legend, Santa Claus, entering the house through the chimney, places sweets and gifts on them. To prevent Santa from mixing anything up, each item must be signed. Alas, they are not often found in Russian apartments, but the Christmas boot, a kind and bright symbol of the New Year holidays, has migrated to us.

Do you want to make it yourself and please the kids with sweets from Santa? It's simple. You can use multi-colored wool socks and decorate them with beads, pompoms or bows.

A more complicated option is to sew it from fabric using a sewing machine. And little crafters and needlewomen will be able to make a New Year's boot from felt (with the help of adults).

Craft felt is sold in multi-colored sheets at craft stores. It can also be purchased from online stores. One sheet is just enough for half a New Year's boot. Here's how to make them.

Make a pattern (you can download it) and transfer it to paper. Then cut out fabric pieces along it. Stitch the parts and sew on decorative elements. Now you can further decorate the product by trimming the edges with curly scissors. This is what happened!

But these are very tiny ones made of felt.

You can use anything as a material - pieces of fabric, an old blanket, even drawing paper (as the most non-standard option).

Those who know how to knit can easily crochet booties using a single crochet stitch.

Which are customary to give to relatives and friends, colleagues and acquaintances. New Year's gifts made from candies remain very popular.

Before the New Year 2017, there is still time to make your own souvenirs, which are always more heartwarming than store-bought ones. And they may become the most popular ones - Santa Claus shoes. Why? Because this is not only an attribute of a recognizable New Year's hero, but also a kind of packaging for sweets.

Making such a shoe is not difficult.

For this we will need the following materials:

  • 2 sheets of white felt (fleece) or any non-flowing material for the sole
  • universal glue
  • heat gun
  • plastic 1.5 liter bottle
  • corrugated cardboard
  • scissors, needle, thread
  • decorative braid
  • New Year's decor: snowflakes, Christmas tree branches, composite material

You can choose the color of the shoe to suit your taste. We will just remind you that 2017 is the year of the red fiery Rooster and all shades of red will be especially popular.

So, we have decided on the color of our souvenir, and we begin to make New Year's gifts from sweets with our own hands.

First, from the middle of a plastic bottle with straight walls, we cut out two parts of the shoe base: the bottom and the pipe.

If you take a larger bottle, the shoe will also be larger.

On the cardboard, next to each other, draw two circles with a pencil - this will be the sole. We add sidewalls to the figure eight on the sides to make the sole realistic.

Then we cut out and glue black felt onto the sole.

Felt can be replaced with thick paper or cardboard with a pattern.

You can cover only the outside of the shoe with felt, but the decorated inside will look more aesthetically pleasing.

Using universal glue, glue the felt along the bottom: outside and inside. The imperfections along the edge will then be removed under the tape.

For the toe of the shoe, cut out a circle from white felt.

The diameter of the circle should be one and a half times larger than the diameter of the bottom of the bottle.

We collect the material along the edge with a “forward needle” seam and tighten it, securing the thread.

The shoe parts - the sole, toe and heel parts - are ready.

For beauty, we glue a piece of felt under the heel.

Then we glue the two upper parts to the base - the sole - using hot glue.

Now we decorate the shoe with braid around the circumference of the top, the joining seam at the top and around the sole.

For a New Year's shoe, decor in the form of snowflakes would be appropriate: you don’t have to skimp on them and “draw” even a blizzard with snowflakes!)

And now the fun part - decorating the finished structure. It should be fluffy in order to collect the two upper parts into a single whole. You can take a ready-made composition, or you can make decoration options from individual elements. Tinsel, small balls, and beads will look great here.

We attach everything with hot glue.

Don't forget about the figurine of a rooster: in the coming year it will be appropriate in any New Year's composition.

Children will especially be happy with a homemade New Year's gift made from sweets. From the video that we have selected for you, you will learn how to turn an ordinary chocolate bar into a “snowman chocolate bar” and thus make Santa's shoe interesting for children.

Our New Year's shoe with sweets is ready! Agree: original packaging for sweets or a small souvenir!

Happy New Year everyone and good luck in your creative endeavors!

You can make a New Year's boot for gifts with your own hands in different ways. Get to know some of them and choose the most beautiful one. Socks for gifts are not as popular in Russia as in the West. However, we are increasingly using it not only for its intended purpose, but also simply as decoration.

We have selected for you three simple master classes on sewing a Christmas boot. The first is a simple decorative sock. The second one is denser and is suitable for gifts. The third is a boot made from a plastic bottle (you can put sweets or nice little things in it). Browse all and choose any. In the article you will also find the necessary patterns and stencils.

Patterns

A New Year's boot can be made from felt, fleece, as well as from quilted or any other dense fabric. Whatever you choose, you will need a pattern. Below are sock templates for Santa Claus (print them or just draw them).

Choose the template you need. You will need it for two of the three workshops offered below.

Method number 1: decorative sock

This New Year's boot is not intended for gifts. It can be made single or double and certainly decorated with applique. A felt sock looks best. Fleece is softer, so you can additionally thicken it with cardboard or a double layer of fabric. You can also use velvet, velor, thick cotton fabric.

To decorate a New Year's boot, take felt, fleece, floss or yarn, beads, and ready-made patches.

We advise you to take a look at our “Stencils” section – in it you will find a selection of different templates with New Year’s characters. They will be useful to you for creating applications. You can simply print them out and cut them out first from paper and then from fabric. Or take it as a basis and just draw it.

Watch this simple video tutorial that clearly shows how to make a decorative Christmas stocking with your own hands.

Use it as a support and come up with your own design.

Here are some ideas for different DIY New Year's boots. Use them for inspiration or just repeat them.

Use acrylic paints and white thread to embroider and apply the design to the sock.

Place the two patterns together and make a decorative seam along the edge (mark in advance). Decorate the boot with pom-poms.

Cut out several decorative elements from felt or fleece using templates and sew them to the outside of the Christmas stocking. Complete with beads, rhinestones and decorative buttons.

Make a sock pattern using an unwanted sweater or scarf. Decorate with Santa Claus made from a cotton pad, a piece of felt and a hat (use the same fabric for it). Don't forget to add white trim and sew on buttons. You can decorate the sock with embroidery.

These are just a few options, you can choose any of them. It is not necessary to make a double decorative Christmas stocking – a single one will do just fine.

Any of these crafts can decorate a door, Christmas tree, windows, or simply hang on the walls on the eve of the New Year.

Method number 2: sock for gifts

The New Year's boot for gifts needs to be sewn thicker so that it is reliable. Use the patterns suggested above. Take them as a basis, but the sewing technique will be a little more complex than in the first master class.

Choose a suitable thick fabric (you can find interesting decorative options in the creativity departments). Choose a filler. Batting, thin padding polyester or even fleece will do.

We cut out two identical blanks for the New Year's sock according to the template. Also use these stencils to make two pieces for the lining (those from which you will sew the inside of the boot).

The filling can only be sewn to the front part of the sock, because the decor will be located on it.

Sew the loop right away. First, cut out a rectangular piece from the fabric, then fold the ends inward, iron and fold in half.

Fold the front of the sock and the filling together. Sew around 0.5 cm from the edge.

Place the lining piece with the right side facing you. Sew the loop, retreating approximately 2-3 cm from the edge on the heel side.

Then repeat the procedure for the second inner (the loop is sewn to it) and the second outer part of the sock. Place them with the right sides facing you, and then sew along the top (the seam should also be inside).

Take two blanks and straighten them so that the outer part (the part that will be visible when the sock is ready) is on the inside.

Sew the parts around the entire perimeter using a machine. Step back about 1 cm from the edge. Don't forget to leave a hole in the lining so that the sock can be turned inside out.

On the rounded parts of the toe (or around the entire perimeter), make small notches in the form of zigzags or triangles. This is necessary so that the inverted boot does not puff up due to the gathered fabric.

Turn out the New Year's stocking and mend the hole through which you did this. Then tuck the lining into the boot. There you go!

Decorate the resulting New Year's stocking with any stripes, appliqués or three-dimensional figures of Christmas characters - sew or glue them. Complete the craft with fur, pom-poms, sparkles, rhinestones and other decor.

Method number 3: boot from a plastic bottle

Instead of hanging Santa's boot from the fireplace or on the wall, you can simply place it under the tree. Place a gift or something delicious in it. In addition, this stable sock can be placed on a festive table and made into a vase, napkin holder or “hat” for forfeits.

We invite you to watch this simple video master class, in which the author talks in detail about how to make a New Year's shoe from a bottle with your own hands. Repeat the step-by-step process using the same materials. Everything is shown very clearly, so you definitely can’t go wrong.

Is it worth buying ready-made Christmas decorations for your home if many of them can be made with your own hands? It's exciting, very entertaining and interesting! Children will definitely like this kind of creativity. We offer one of the interesting New Year's crafts - Santa Claus boots made from plastic bottles.

To work you will need:

  • plastic bottles at the rate of 1 bottle for 1 boot;
  • fabric (remnants of fabric, faux fur, felt, etc.);
  • decoration (optional): New Year's ribbons, snow-covered cones, etc.;
  • sewing kit: scissors, thread and needle, ruler, etc.;
  • hot glue.

Let's get started:

1. Cut a plastic bottle into 3 parts. A soda bottle works best for the job, such as 7Up, Mountain Dew, etc.

2. On cardboard, draw the base of the boot (foot), corresponding in size to the bottle.

3. Wrap the cut out bottom of the boot in fabric. Then get ready to wrap the cloth around the plastic. For the front (toe): Measure the length from the bottom of the plastic to the edge to get the radius (measured length plus 2cm as tolerance) for the circle enclosing the plastic.

3. Sew a 1cm circle using a running stitch. Then stitch along the edge of the fabric before stretching it over the plastic, pulling tightly to wrap the plastic inside.

4. Move to the back of the boot (heel + ankle). We calculate the correct size (size = sock circle length * boot height length).

5. Wrap the plastic with the cut fabric.
