men

26 Nov 2016

Straight to the point

1. Fold the fabric in half. The fold of the fabric will be the middle of the back.

2. We set aside half of our largest volume from the fold (that you have more chest or hips) plus an increase in freedom of fitting 10 centimeters. We draw a line parallel to the fold. This is the middle front.

For example, the volume of the hips is 110 + 10 = 120. Set aside 60 cm from the fold.

3. Stepping back from the top edge (seam allowance), draw a shoulder line. We draw the neckline of the back. Depth 3-4 cm, width 9-10 cm.

4. From the neckline we draw a shoulder 15 cm long. The bevel of the shoulder line is 3 cm

5. Lay down the fold from the shoulder line to measure the length of the back to the waist. We draw a waist line.

Extend it 12-13 centimeters beyond the mid-front line for a smell.

6. Divide the entire width of the pattern in half.

From the waist line up in the middle, we set aside the height of the side (cm 13-15, depending on height).

7. Draw a line for the back armhole. It should start from the shoulder line at a right angle.

8. For a bathrobe, we make a shelf of the same length as the back. If the size of the chest is large, then you can increase by 2-3 cm

We postpone from the waist line along the line of the middle of the shelf the measurement of the length of the back to the waist. Draw a shoulder line to the left

9. Set aside the width of the neck of the shelf 9-10 cm

10. Set aside to the left shoulder length 15 cm, shoulder bevel 4-5 cm

11. Draw the line of the armhole in front from the extreme point of the shoulder to the height of the side

12. We connect with a smooth line the point of the width of the neck and the notch on the waist line, which we made 12-13 cm from the middle of the front.

The line is slightly rounded, almost straight.

13. From the serif on the waist line, draw a line just down, parallel to the fold. It's generally recommended to do a little flare so the smell stays straight and looks vertical, but I never flare to save fabric.

The robe pattern drawing is ready.

Even for processing the front and the belt, we cut out 3 strips 10 cm wide, 150 cm long.

This dressing gown is made of soft cotton-based velor, however, you can use any suitable short-pile fabric for sewing this model - velor, corduroy, velvet, etc.

And now the very good news that will please you! You can build a dressing gown pattern according to our instructions or download a ready-made dressing gown pattern for sizes 52-56 for free!

The dressing gown pattern is given for sizes 52-56. The length of the model on the back is 132 cm.

We start the construction with a pattern grid: build a rectangle ABCD: AB \u003d 72 cm, AC \u003d 132 cm.

Construction of a pattern of a shelf of a dressing gown

The width of the shelf AP \u003d 40 cm. From point P, set aside to the left PP1 \u003d 3.5 cm, from point P1, lay down 3 cm. Draw from point 3 a shoulder line of the shelf 20 cm long so that points P3 lie on the line AP. From the extreme point of the shoulder, lay down 29 cm and build a line for the armhole of the shelf.

Shawl Collar Construction

Set aside 14 cm from point P3 to the left. From point P3, draw up a segment 9.5 cm long. Draw a segment 12 cm long at a right angle. Draw the outer side of the shawl collar slightly rounded. Set aside 8 cm from point C to the right and draw a line of selection (dashed line).

Draw a pocket pattern measuring 17.5 x 18.5 cm, round the bottom corners of the pocket. Mark the position of the pocket on the shelf as shown in fig. 1.

Building a back pattern

From point B, set aside to the left BB1 = 8.5 cm. From point P, set aside to the right PP2 = 3.5 cm and down 3 cm. Draw a back shoulder line 20 cm long and a back armhole line similar to a shelf.

Belt loops are located along the side line at a distance of 10 cm from the bottom of the armhole. Loops length 14 cm - 2 loops of 7.5 cm (depending on the level of the waist line, you can put the belt into the upper or lower loops). The back is cut with a fold in the center. Reshoot the selection on tracing paper and cut out separately.

IMPORTANT! The side seam can be omitted if the width of the fabric allows. Lay out the pattern on the fabric without cutting along the side line, as shown in fig. 1.

Stitch the shoulder seams, cut the allowances in the corners. Stitch the middle seam on the shawl collar. Stitch the collar into the neck of the back. Sew along the middle seam of the collar. On the selection, stitch the finishing tape according to the markup. Stitch the pick to the shelves along the outer edge, cut off the allowances. Bend the allowances on the bottom of the robe and stitch. Bend the pick-up to the front side and sweep it cleanly along the edge, fold the allowances along the edge of the bumps, sew a loop in the center of the back (so that it is convenient to hang the dressing gown on a hook), stitch the pick-up.

Stitch the seams of the sleeves. Stitch the sleeves into the armholes. Bend the allowances on the bottom of the sleeves and stitch.

Bend the allowances on the top of the pockets and stitch. On the details of the pockets, according to the markup, sew the finishing tape. Bend the allowances on the sides and bottom of the pockets and stitch the pockets according to the markings on the shelves.

Cut out 2 strips for belt loops 3 cm wide and 17 cm long. Sew belt loops 1 cm wide, fold the allowances and stitch the belt loops along the side seams according to the markings. See details. Sew the belt loops exactly down the center with a short stitch.

The coat is ready! It remains only to give it to your man and enjoy his enthusiasm, thanks and kisses!

A home robe is an important part of your daily wardrobe. It is worn with pleasure by children, women and men. It can be thin and sexy or warm and soft, it is convenient to wrap up in it after a bath or throw it over pajamas in the morning. There are many different models in stores, but if you have the time and desire, then you can sew a bathrobe yourself.

Where to start?

Sewing a homemade dressing gown with your own hands is not so difficult. This is something even a beginner can do. To perform the work, you must be able to use a sewing machine and have minimal seamstress skills.

In the process you will need:

  • Textile;
  • Tape measure;
  • Scissors;
  • remnant;
  • Threads and a needle;
  • Sewing machine;
  • Iron.

When choosing a fabric, consider the purpose of the product. Kimonos and a summer robe are sewn from silk, chintz, bath and winter hoodies of their terry, flannel and woolen fabrics. Models can be chosen different, but the most simple in tailoring products with a smell.

To calculate the required amount of matter, you need to decide on the style. To sew a sleeveless robe in sizes 46–48 from a fabric 150 cm wide, you will need 1 length of the product + 2 cm for the hemming, at 80 cm you will need 2 lengths. But for a product with a long sleeve, more material is needed.

Cutting fabric

How to sew a bathrobe with a smell with your own hands? Before applying the markup, be sure to smooth the fabric so that there are no creases. Lay out the finished material on a flat surface. The wide fabric is folded in half along the longitudinal line with the front side inward, the narrow one - along the transverse line. Next, mark with a small piece or a piece of dry soap.

On a narrow fabric on the left side, retreating 1.5-2 cm, draw a straight line down - this will be a seam on the back, for a wide fabric this is not necessary. It is more convenient to build a bathrobe pattern from top to bottom.

From the left edge, go down 1 cm - this is the indent for the line, draw a straight line from this place to the right. At this horizontal mark, measure 9 cm from the fold to the edge, and go down 2 cm from the left corner and put a mark. Smoothly connect these two points. This is the back neckline.

Calculate the width of the robe using the formula: POB + 20 cm, where POB is the half-volume of the hips. Set aside the resulting value to the right of the fold. Draw a straight line from top to bottom at this point. Make a front cutout on it.

To do this, measure the distance from the shoulder to the waist. Set aside this value on the constructed line. On the upper horizontal line to the left of the edge, mark 9 cm, and put a dot. Now smoothly connect these two labels.

It remains to make armholes and cut out the details. Divide the top horizontal line in half. From this point down 26 cm, draw a straight line, it will be necessary to make an incision along it. With scissors, carefully cut out the details along the lines.

Dressing gown

Experts recommend sewing a summer robe with your own hands in the following sequence:

  • The edges of the fabric are processed on an overlock. If it is not there, process them with a zigzag;
  • Then you should sew the back;
  • Fold the front and back face to face and, aligning the shoulders, make a basting, then stitch;
  • Tuck the edges of the sleeves and the bottom, baste and try on, if everything is fine, feel free to scribble;
  • With an oblique trim or finishing material, process the edge of the front and the neck;
  • Sew a belt from the rest of the fabric.

A hand-sewn robe is ready! It remains to stroke it, remove the basting and you can put it on. Sewing a dressing gown for a child is also just right for this ... terry towels!

Baby bathrobe from towels

For a child, sewing is a little easier. First, the sizes are small, the fabric consumption is less. Secondly, the patterns are simple.

You can sew a children's dressing gown with your own hands from your old things or bath towels. To build a pattern, fold the cloth in half inside out and lay it out on a flat surface. Measure the width of the towel and divide this value in half to get the center line (axis of symmetry). To the left and to the right of it at the very top, measure 5 cm each - this is the width of the neck. On the back, go down 1 cm - this is the depth. Connect the dots smoothly.

On the axis of symmetry down, measure 15 cm and put a mark. Draw straight lines from the extreme points of the neck width to the mark on the center line. This will be the cutout on the chest.

Step back 20 cm from the fold line along the edges down, this will be the width of the sleeves. Children's hoodie can have arbitrary sizes. In order to calculate the width of the robe, you can use the formula: POB + 10 or 15 cm. Divide this value by 2 and set aside the resulting centimeters to the left and right of the center line.

From these points, draw parallel straight lines. Draw a line perpendicular to them, connecting the sleeve width marks to each other. At the intersection point on both sides (armpits), smoothly round off the corners. The pattern is ready. It remains to carefully cut and you can start basting.

To sew such a kimono robe with your own hands, first go through the sides, bottom hem, front trims and sleeve edges with a basting stitch. Having tried on a dressing gown for a child, sew all these places on a typewriter and pull out the extra threads. Finish the neck with a finishing tape. From the remnants of the fabric, make a belt. The product is ready!

If desired, you can not cut the fabric completely in front. Simply cut a hole for the head and process it. You will need to put on a robe over your head. This option will be convenient for older children.

What to pay attention to?

If, when cutting the material, you see that the dressing gown turns out to be short or the sleeves are not long, then these details can be easily increased by additional stripes.

At home we go in home suits or dresses. We have already talked about this. But in the wardrobe there should be other clothes for the house - a morning peignoir or a bathrobe with or without a hood. We offer to quickly sew it and a pattern is not needed for this.

Step 1. Choosing a model and material for it

Our online store can offer a wide range of fabrics depending on the chosen model.

  • or is bathroom textiles.
  • If you are always hot - you can sew or.
  • For a peignoir, flowing fabrics with a smooth texture are suitable -,,.
  • No less pleasant will be, and. They are inexpensive and pleasant to the body.

Models of bathrobes - someone likes a zipper, others - with a smell. And if the lightning is placed mainly on velor and knitwear, then for clothes made of terry, velsoft, smooth fabrics, a pattern with a smell is selected.

The design is also worth choosing according to your taste. Classic dressing gown white, terry. But it may well be a printed cut - with flowers and butterflies, birds and intricate ornaments, stripes, polka dots or with a geometric pattern. Even a monophonic model can be transformed by making embroidery on a shelf or back by gluing a thermal transfer.

Step 2. We sew a bathrobe without a pattern

Sewing a bathrobe with your own hands is very simple - you don’t even need a pattern. We will draw immediately on the cut. But first you need to smooth it out so that there are no folds and creases.

We sew a bathrobe with a smell. And an example is the pattern of a product in the style of a kimono. If you are sewing a model from silk, then it will fit. We will improve it.

The numerical designations given on the pattern are indicated in millimeters. Check the data with your measurements.

  • First, slightly narrow the sleeves according to a measure equal to the girth of the wrist + an increase in freedom of fitting. New lines are marked in contrasting color (green).
  • The neckline can not be changed if there is no collar. Otherwise, it is worth slightly deepening the lines and separately cutting out a collar with a one-piece facing for shelves. New lines are marked in contrasting color (red).
  • If a long robe is planned, add the necessary centimeters to the base.
  • If the whole pattern does not fit on the cut, cut it along the line of the middle of the sleeve (blue dash-dotted line).

If you took your favorite pattern from a magazine, for example, Burda Modern, you can fit it to any size of bathrobes by adding the right number of centimeters along the back and shelf (Fig. 1). The second option (Fig. 2) is somewhat more complicated, but also takes place. The added centimeters are shaded.

Now the tailoring.

  • The one-piece facing of the neck and shelves (double width) is folded in half, ironed and sewn to the shelf and neck.
  • We grind the side seams in one go from the bottom of the sleeve through the armhole to the bottom of the product.
  • We bend the bottom of the sleeve, we sew.
  • We bend the bottom, we build.

Ready. You see, even a dressing gown pattern was not needed. This description is good because, using it, you can sew not only a women's, but also a children's or men's dressing gown.

Circle Based Variation

A fashionable, homemade dressing gown can be sewn differently, taking a circle as a basis. Both professionals and novice dressmakers will cope with such a model.

The previous model was with sleeves, this one will turn out without them, but with a shawl collar.

  • Cut out from the circle, stepping back from the edge of 10 cm. The diameter of the circle is 135 cm.
  • Stepping back from the edge of 80 cm, we outline the middle of the product.
  • We draw segments of 22 cm from the middle line to the left and right.
  • At the ends of the segments we make perpendiculars of 20 cm each. This is an armhole.
  • Cut out the openings.

It remains to process the armholes with an oblique trim and tuck the bottom. From the remaining 10 cm, make a belt.

It turned out to sew a bathrobe quickly, in just half an hour. With a new thing to you!
