Organizer: project to support parents “Family Tree”.

Partners: Samokat publishing house, Sunflower charity foundation.

We invite journalists and bloggers to the festival!

All you need is love, and, fortunately, love is in each of us. We love our spouses, children, parents, friends - but love does not always bring us happiness. Sometimes with our love we not only warm and caress, but also tease, bind, and sometimes cause pain.

Some of us, already being parents, still do not know how to accept the love of loved ones and constantly feel abandoned and unnecessary.

How can you ensure that your love brings only happiness to you and your family? Is there such a thing as too much love? How to maintain warm feelings and live happily ever after in your family?

On June 3 at the Russian State Children's Library we will look for answers to these questions together with five well-known specialists in the field of family and developmental psychology.

Ekaterina Murashova - about how love became one of the main bugbears modern civilization

Our time is a time of love. Love has become one of the main bugbears of modern civilization. Perhaps the most important thing. Now they are trying to connect absolutely everything with her.

In the ancient, ancient world, they did not know love. There were other concepts: duty, honor, loyalty, devotion. But all this went away, and instead love was proclaimed the highest value. And if something is proclaimed to be the highest value, then, of course, many things try to attach themselves to this highest value. In our understanding, love appeared when life became easier. When not individual people appeared, but entire layers of people who had free time and strength.

What can masquerade as love

1. Neurotic anxiety parents

Parents worry that the child will not be able to find his place in the new, constantly changing world, and do everything possible so that he can. For example: “I love you and therefore I want you to have a good education.” Or "Without in English nowhere now. Yes, I understand that you don't want to. But it is necessary. Why? Because I love you!"

For such parents, the world is a train into which you need to have time to throw your child, and you need to provide him with something: hooks, suction cups, so that he constantly clings. The most advanced mothers (there is such a type as the “Jewish mother”) jump with the child, holding hands.

2. What love has supplanted (honor, devotion, duty)

Since these concepts have existed for several centuries, they cannot completely disappear - and as a result they disguise themselves as love. It looks something like this: “Well, listen, everyone in our family had a higher education. I know that you are smart, that you are good-looking. But I love you! Well, how are you going to study to become a car mechanic?”

In fact, this phrase means “How will I look people in the eye if my Vasechka is left without higher education? They’ll ask who Vasechka is, and I’ll say: “Vasechka is a car mechanic.” It’s a shame to burn!”

3. The mother’s lack of meaning in life

If the mother has not been able to find something to live for, she makes the child the meaning of her existence. “Yes, I gave you my whole life! I left my job just to take you to a developmental training center at the French embassy. And now you say that you want this French not needed - after eight years of my continuous vigil. And just four years in music school out of nine left!”

No one can be the meaning of another's life. This is unnatural and absolutely unbearable. Is there something that all children need? Eat. They need to see next to them a person who has taken some place in this regard, who has found himself. That's why the main task parent - do and find yourself.

4. The desire to prove something to someone

This someone could be anyone. Often parents themselves lacked love, so they consider it their duty to give it to their children in full.

“You never noticed me. You weren’t interested in my problems, you didn’t do homework with me, you didn’t, you didn’t, you didn’t... I will do all this. I will talk to the child until he faints!”

5. Make a project out of the child

This is a less malignant version of the point “a child is the meaning of life.” When parents invest in a child in order to then get this and that.

Where then is love itself

We are animals. But we are not only animals - we are people. From a biological point of view, we have a maternal instinct. It turns on in 80% of women giving birth and continues until the child reaches the age of four, and then fades away. Ideally, it appears further human thing: caring for the baby. Then biology turns on again, but in the opposite direction. Push away! Kick me out! He is 12 years old - why do you have him lying here? Get him out of here!

You need to do the following: catch everything that is disguised as love, honestly talk about it to yourself and your children. And cut it off. And all that remains is love.

If a mother can laugh at herself, then she will have children who can also laugh at themselves. And I don't know a method that would be more effective.
