From May 1 to May 10, Moscow will host hundreds major city events: concerts, memorial events, exhibitions and sporting events. The events will take place at 35 venues in the city center, 20 in city parks, as well as nine district venues.

“Next week the May holidays begin. Major events will take place on May 1 - this is a demonstration of trade unions, on May 9 there will be a parade on Red Square, a procession of the “Immortal Regiment” and about 300 more large mass cultural events dedicated to Victory Day will be organized,” he said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government.

On May 1, a traditional procession of trade unions and labor collectives will take place on Red Square, in which more than 100 thousand people can take part. It will start at 10:00, and the gathering of guests starts at 09:00. Last year, about 100 thousand people took part in this procession.

In addition, the parks will open the summer season. From 13:00 to 19:00 there will be theatrical performances, concerts, lectures, creative and sports master classes.

“May 1 is the Spring and Labor Day, the summer season traditionally starts in our parks of culture and recreation, the entire infrastructure is prepared, more than 780 different places for various activities,” said the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Culture.
