Souvenirs made of beads in the shape of a horseshoe. Horseshoe made of beads. An object lesson in weaving a heart with empty space inside.

New Year

Who and when became the first to collect horseshoes for luck, of course, is not known. However, such a symbol will be a relevant gift not only in the Year of the Horse, but also for any other holiday. It could be a wedding, housewarming or even a birthday. Moreover, you can make a horseshoe from beads with your own hands. It can be made in a variety of techniques: from embroidery to beadwork. The needlewoman only needs to choose her own method.

Beaded horseshoe

Of course, you can use a ready-made pattern to make an embroidered horseshoe. With their help you can make a small painting or interior decoration. But it is much more interesting for experienced needlewomen to make a horseshoe for luck, guided also by their imagination.

For the horseshoe pendant you will need:

  • 5 malachite cabochons;
  • 4 natural pearls (can be replaced with large beads);
  • Japanese beads No. 11 and No. 15 in different shades: green, silver and blue;
  • a piece of felt and leather;
  • green paint and brush;
  • scissors, thread and glue;
  • as well as pin, chain and rings.

Cut off the excess felt and trim the edge of the horseshoe with beads

Horseshoe made from square rope

But it is not necessary to use embroidery to make a beaded horseshoe. The weaving pattern for such a craft is very simple, if you take a regular square strand as a basis.

To work you will need:

  • 10 g of beads No. 10 of any color;
  • 2 m nylon thread;
  • bead needle;
  • paper clip.

Such a horseshoe can be woven from beads

  1. First you need to make a square base. To do this, 4 beads are strung and connected into a ring. To hold everything together, thread the thread through the beads several times.
  2. Now put 3 more beads on the thread and thread the needle through the same bead with which you started weaving. This will be the first edge. Then put on 2 more beads and tie them together with one bead from the first side and the base.
  3. Next, you need to string 2 more beads onto the thread and thread the needle through the beads of the second face and the base. The third side of the square is ready. All that remains is to collect one bead and connect it to the second and third faces and the base of the strand.
  4. Repeating all these steps, make 9 more such squares. Secure the remaining fishing line, and the base for a horseshoe from a square strand is ready.
  5. To be able to hang it, straighten a regular paper clip. Make a small loop out of it and thread it into the center of the bundle. Then bend it into a small horseshoe and cut off the excess ends. At this point the horseshoe pendant is ready.

You can braid a horseshoe blank and decorate it with beads

You can make a horseshoe from beads using other techniques. For example, you can braid an ordinary horseshoe in a circle and decorate it with beaded flowers and other fakes.

For many peoples of the world, the horseshoe has always been a symbol of happiness and financial well-being. It was customary to hang it right above the front door to lure good luck into the house and scare away bad thoughts and events. Today we offer you a selection of photos, which contains a variety of beaded souvenirs from the horseshoe company. Watch and be inspired!

A selection of photos of beaded horseshoes

To decorate a horseshoe you don't need a lot of materials. Prepare only beads, bright beads (these can be faceted bicones, just smooth beads, shaped items), fishing line and colored shiny thread. Naturally, the work will not be complete without a real horseshoe, which we, in fact, will decorate.

So, take any shiny thread and start stringing beads and beads on it in random order. Please note that you will need a lot of beads, so you should not skimp. As a last resort, all excess can be trimmed off.

We move the strung beads and begin to wind the colored thread onto the horseshoe, slightly stepping back from the edge of the arc. We make the turns tight so that the horseshoe itself does not show through. To secure the thread, you can cover it after finishing the winding process with any glue that becomes transparent after drying.

We design each arc symmetrically (that is, the size of the winding of their thread should be exactly the same as on the arc with which you began to design the horseshoe).

Additionally, the horseshoe can be decorated with decorative flowers made of fabric - they are easily glued using silicone glue at the very end of the work.

To form such long pendants, you need to prepare a separate fishing line and move along the edge, inserting a needle and fishing line into the beaded rows of the winding. For each step, string the required number of beads and beads onto the thread, and return the needle back to the same strung beads, bypassing the very last one. This way the suspension will be secured and will not run away.

This master class will tell you step by step how to weave a horseshoe from beads. Such a horseshoe can serve as a talisman or symbolize good luck and prosperity in life. The hande-made master who prepared this MK specifically decided to make this horseshoe of a small size, because a small horseshoe made of beads can be presented as a gift as a keychain or pendant for a car mirror.

So, prepare the necessary material for the craft, “turn on” patience and start the craft.

MK: Small twisted beaded horseshoe

To make a horseshoe measuring 4 by 2.5 cm you will need:

  • beads and glass beads,
  • fishing line,
  • fine needle
  • some kind of fastening (in my case - wire).

We collect 7 beads on a fishing line and close them into a ring. The tip of the fishing line, which remains unnecessary after fastening, is threaded through the beads several times, then cut off.

After you finish the first row, you will have a star like this. We continue weaving by sticking the needle into the first bead after the glass bead.

As you begin to weave the third row, your horseshoe base will begin to take on the appearance of a tube. Don't forget to monitor the tension of the fishing line. You must not allow it to weaken, otherwise the horseshoe will turn out flabby and will not hold its shape well.

Continue braiding until your rope is approximately twice as long as the desired horseshoe size.

The base of the horseshoe is ready. Now we need to take care of the fastening.

We form a figure of a suitable size from the wire.

We insert it into the base.

And we bend the protruding tails upward, fixing the structure.

We correct all the forms, and we can praise ourselves - our horseshoe is ready.

The weaving technique is called “cross stitch”; in principle, weaving is not complicated, but this master class will contain not only diagrams, but also two step-by-step lessons.

You can weave one heart, or cross two and use 2 colors of beads

A horseshoe is also woven using the same technique; you can also use the description below to weave a heart shape!

Completing of the work

We make the horseshoe-shaped pendant from a square rope. To weave it, we string 4 beads onto a thread (photo 1) and close them into a ring (photo 2), passing the thread in a circle several times to secure it. The resulting square is the base of the rope.

Next we weave the side edges. To do this, we string 3 beads and pass the needle through the same bead where the thread came from (photo 3). The result is the first edge. Then we connect the base and add 2 beads to the resulting edge (photo 4). The result is the second side of the bundle. We string 2 beads and connect the base and the second side (photo 5) to get the third side of the rope. To make the fourth face, add 1 bead and connect the base, first and third faces (photo 6).

We tighten the woven element. The result is a cube, each side of which consists of 4 beads. We take one side of the cube as a base and also weave four sides, while stringing 3 beads (photo 7). We repeat all the steps of the first cube and perform the second cube - the result is a tourniquet. It has four clear edges (photo 8). We continue weaving, the length of the strand is 9 squares (photo 9).

We straighten the paperclip and bend it with pliers so that a loop is formed in the middle (photo 10). We insert one side of the paper clip inside the finished bundle (photo 11).
Then we weave another cube so that a loop comes out of one of its faces (photo 12), and a paper clip comes out of the other (photo 13). We weave another bundle of 9 squares so that the paper clip is inside (photo 14).

We fasten the threads at the ends of the bundle, carefully cut the paper clip with wire cutters (photo 15). We give the resulting part the shape of a horseshoe (photo 16). We attach the horseshoe to the lace by the ring (photo 17).
