Swedes: appearance of men and women. The most famous and beautiful representatives of the nation

For teenagers

Stories about the kindness and helpfulness of the Swedes can be heard from many people who have visited this northern country. Indeed, in order to meet a person on the street in Sweden, it is often enough just to walk up and say hello. However, in addition to this peculiarity of the Swedes, there are many myths about the inhabitants of this country, many of which are no longer relevant.

One of the main myths is the “availability” of Swedish women. Perhaps it appeared precisely because of the ease with which not only Swedes, but also Swedes, are ready to make new acquaintances and spend time with new companies. However, despite the fact that girls in Sweden are always happy to meet new people, they have certain rules that the fair sex are unlikely to break. If a girl is unmarried, this does not mean that it will be easy to win her over. The fact is that Swedish girls are used to choosing their partners themselves, and if they decide something, it will be extremely difficult to convince them. A woman can calmly approach and ask if you would like to spend the rest of the night at her home.

Sweden does not consider such acquaintances with a girl reprehensible. However, “consumers”, that is, men, are judged here for illegal sex services. Of course, they won’t go to jail, but they will charge a decent fine.

As for married women, the situation is different. They are not forbidden to have relationships with other men, but not sexual ones.

The second most common myth is stories about a land of tall blondes. Sweden is still considered a “blonde paradise”, however, this story has long become just a myth, as well as the fact that the ideal woman for the Swedes is a tall blonde with a model appearance.

According to The Local, almost any Swede will tell you that the modern ideal woman is Crown Princess Victoria. As for the number of fair-haired girls, their ratio to dark-haired ones is approximately 50 to 50. However, all Swedes are quite tall.

The next two myths are that Swedish women cannot stand “weak” Swedish guys and dream of other countries. Allegedly, young Swedes have been waiting since childhood for a British, American, German or Frenchman to come for them and take them away. These myths are refuted by both statistics and numerous surveys, both in the country and abroad. For Swedes, also due to the peculiarities of gender relations within Sweden, it is quite difficult to get used to the mentality of foreigners, as well as the customs of other countries. In addition, most Swedish women consider their men to be the best for creating a good family.

The fifth myth, which scares men the most, is that a Swedish woman will demand equal rights from her husband in relation to household duties. This is not entirely true - a Swedish woman will require men to do most of the housework. This myth is becoming more and more an objective reality every year.

The sixth myth, which greatly confuses foreign women, is that the beauty of Swedish women is supposedly due to natural causes. This may be true, but men claim that on weekend mornings they do not always immediately recognize their wives. However, it is worth noting that Swedish girls pay very close attention to their figure, nutrition and sleep. How, a recent study found that girls in Sweden begin to think about healthy eating and exercise to maintain their figure as early as 7-10 years of age. With age, this desire only grows stronger. So, one of the surveys showed that with family.

The seventh myth, which cannot be refuted or confirmed, is that Swedes are rude, cold and reserved in everything. In this regard, Swedish women are very different, and a lot depends on the interlocutor.

And finally, the eighth myth, which can already be safely recognized as an objective reality, is that “Swedish women rule the world.” Yes, perhaps not for everyone, but within this Scandinavian country this is the situation.

The Nordic beauty of Swedish women is usually fair skin, blue eyes and blond hair. There is a lot to learn from Scandinavian women with truly angelic features. How exactly do Swedes differ from us?

Reason No. 1: They emphasize natural beauty with makeup.

Swedes hate makeup that can be seen on the skin. This list also includes false and extended eyelashes, nails and hair. That's why . The foundation perfectly matches the skin tone; shadows cannot be darker than three shades from the natural shade. Everything shiny and colorful can only be found among the youngest Scandinavians, who are still at the experimentation stage.

Reason #2: They are proud of their wrinkles

Swedes have absolutely no fear of age-related changes - this is their upbringing. Like many foreign women, Swedes are sure that every stage of life has its own joys, as well.

Moreover, cosmetologists believe that the wrinkles of Scandinavian and Russian girls are different. Swedish women are left with imprints of facial expressions of happiness, but for us, unfortunately, they are imprinted with sadness, anxiety and excitement.

Reason #3: cleanse the skin with steam, not scrubs

Swedes do not like peelings and scrubs, believing that in this way the skin loses its protection in the form of subcutaneous sebum. That is why they try to remove keratinized particles only by steaming. Most often, you hold your face over a sink with a stream of hot water, after which you apply the famous homemade Swedish mask: egg yolk and honey. It gives Scandinavians the coveted elasticity of their skin. If you want to repeat it, then remember - the mask is only suitable for those girls who do not have capillaries on their faces. Honey is also quite a strong allergen.

Reason #4: Drink a lot of water

No, we will not talk about wine, but about the healing power of the simplest drinks - water, herbal tea and lemonade. By the way, Swedes make their own lemonades: they pour chopped fruit with sugar-free water.

Due to climatic conditions, Swedes drink large amounts of liquid per day. Therefore, they can often be seen with beautiful bottles (which have now become very popular in Russia) in the summer and with small thermoses in the winter.

Reason #5: Watch your menu

Children in Sweden are protected from fast food, which is why there are practically no overweight people here. To protect their naturally delicate skin (fair skin is one of the most sensitive), Swedes try to consume large amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 acids, which are found in fish and seafood. The fish menu in the family diet here prevails over meat. The second mandatory component of the Swedish diet is berries: cloudberries, blackberries and rose hips. They are used in the production of juices and even anti-aging liqueurs.

Reason #6: Create intrigue with clothes

In the literal sense of the word. After all, Swedes never expose themselves. Naturally, they are not alien to the general fashion, for example, crop tops and short shorts. But women always follow the golden rule of pairing short with tall or long.

Swedes are the main population of Sweden, where there are about 8 million ethnic Swedes. 4.3 million Americans and 300 thousand Canadians have Swedish roots.

Swedish belongs to the Scandinavian subgroup of the Germanic group of Indo-European languages. Peoples related to the Swedes are the Danes, Norwegians, Icelanders, and Faroese.

Notes on women in Sweden, written by my good friend, Elena Jakobsson.

I tried several times to start this article, but it didn’t work. I'm not much of an analyst. Even if I see a hundred identically dressed women, I will think that this is still a bad sample from the crowd, that this is not a reason to generalize and draw conclusions.

Write about Swedish women? They are all so different! Don’t forget that world-recognized beauties Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman and Anita Ekberg, who became famous in the legendary scene at the Trevi Fountain in Fellini’s film “Lolce Vita,” were all Swedish. Sometimes you just get on a city tram, and there is such a miracle calmly holding onto the handrail - natural blonde, glowing blue eyes, transparent pink skin, perfect facial features - that you don’t even want to get off at the right stop. But not all Swedish women are like that, what can I say.

Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman and Anita Ekberg

Two worlds - two childhoods

And so I thought and thought, where should I start a story about ordinary Swedes, those who make up the city crowd, and no idea came to my mind until my daughter published this one on her blog (www.swedishloveaffair.com) photograph.

She made it in Paris at the Galeries Lafayette store. And just like that, on that same day, when she photographed this little Parisian girl, we were in the IKEA store, and I, trying to capture my son against the backdrop of the window, took a photograph of this Swedish girl.

Perhaps there is no need to go further: this difference between French and Swedish, it seems, will remain forever. This girl in the shopping cart will continue to wear shapeless pants, several different T-shirts one on top of the other - the combination of which is in no way justified, comfortable ski jackets that she will buy not in ordinary clothing stores, but in sports ones, where everything is subordinated to convenience, comfort, protection, waterproofness, dirt-repellency, strength and durability. These will be things made of waterproof, wrinkle-resistant, windproof fabric, Gore-Tex low shoes, comfortable not only in the city, but also somewhere in the mountains or in the forest, insulated quilted gloves. And at the same time, in winter she will walk around with her navel exposed and her pants pulled low, so that at the tram stop you can clearly see the anatomy of her ass.

No, I still don’t dare draw conclusions about all Swedish women. Conclusions, generalizations, analysis - these are not given to me. I will limit myself to describing a few cases and persons that are familiar to me. And you can draw your own conclusions.

A typical example is a teacher

My acquaintance with Swedish women began at a Swedish language school. The first teacher was Gunila and she remains my favorite Swede. It's a shame we didn't become friends. Thanks to Gunila, I started speaking Swedish within a week. It was possible to talk with her not only about Strindberg, but also about Dostoevsky. She was cheerful and even lively. She was fine. She was not even like an aunt who had gained weight by the age of forty, but simply a shapeless bun, although nature created her exactly as I described at the beginning: clear blue eyes, natural white hair, thin, clear skin. Gunila never combed her hair and wore a shapeless haircut. When I updated my usual bob, she discovered with admiration, looking at me, that “they can cut hair like that in our city.” She had never tried this herself.

Gunila came to work in jeans and shapeless sweatshirts, naturally unironed and washed in one pile and therefore losing their original color. I didn’t see any other clothes on her and therefore I was surprised when I came to visit her and found her in a dress. Gunila wore, and, I believe, wears, white knitted cotton panties, without any lace and only those - she showed us in class: she lowered her pants and showed them. She believed that all such things develop our spoken language, and in general, why not show the panties. Gunila had sex with her husband once a week on Tuesdays, because she believed that this was enough for her husband, where would he go, they have two children. Husband Theodore, I must say, was drop-dead handsome, and didn’t know that we knew about him, that in the morning he often runs around the apartment looking for clean underpants and socks, since he takes care of his underwear himself, and Gunila only takes care of hers and the children’s . At the same time, she was all so fresh, white, washed, clean and smart, that even now I remember her with great pleasure. I think she is typical of a certain segment of Swedish women.

A typical example is neighbor No. 1

Another typical Swede lives in the apartment below us. This is a relatively young, red-haired person with delicate features, quite beautiful, which is almost never possible to see because of her style. Although one thing you can’t deny her is that she has style. She belongs to that widespread category of ladies here who, under no circumstances, will part with trousers and are most afraid of dressing more formally than the occasion requires. Therefore, at the same time she wears wide trousers (often with elastic at the ankle or with straps), a pair of skirts or a dress, plus a tunic, a shorter jacket, and an open jacket (if it’s winter). The color cannot be called black or gray, only I once saw red socks on her (we use the same laundry). Shoes – heavy boots in winter and summer, such as mountain boots. We live on one of the central streets, in an old apartment building, and we don’t have to climb the mountains.

A typical example is neighbor No. 2

The third typical person also lives in our house, her balcony is located almost opposite ours. This is a pretty, pleasant woman, athletic, slender, just like the two previous ones, the mother of two children, a boy and a girl. She is always friendly, smiles, wears a short men's haircut, rides only a bicycle, wears things stylized as men's or just men's, bought exclusively in expensive sports stores, does not use, like both previous ones, cosmetics, and does not do manicures. She cuts her daughter's hair short and dresses only in clothes purchased in children's clothing departments for boys. If the daughter were older, and to save money, she would have to bear the baby after her brother, this would be at least somehow justified, but on the contrary, it is the younger brother who bears the baby after her. One day my son and his friend played with this girl in the yard for a long time.

– Who did you play with there? – I asked when they returned.

“With Ruth,” said the son.

– Not with Ruth, but with Ruth, she’s a girl.

How? Neither the son nor his friend believed it. They shouted to her from the balcony, saying, Ruth, what are you, a girl? When they heard “yes,” they were very surprised and laughed at themselves for a long time - they talked to her like a boy.

And this is also a typical story that will not surprise anyone. Typical, but not exclusive of others.

In the shop

One day, a friend received an invitation for two to a sale and dinner with oysters and champagne at the most prestigious department store in our city. Let's go with her. There were completely different women there, and not nearly similar to those I have already talked about: in expensive dresses stuck to the body, real jewelry or expensive jewelry, with expensive bags, in shoes or boots with heels, who immediately rushed into cosmetics department or in line for champagne. Although it must be said that most of these beautiful ladies had a noticeable smell of mothballs and did not hide wrinkles or gray hair, there were also quite interesting people that you think about: these are the representatives of modern Swedish urban beauty and fashion. I note that Swedish women turned out to be just as unstable when it comes to freebies as many other nations, so my friend and I didn’t have a complex in this crowd, returning to distributing wine.

At the wedding

Once a couple of years ago, our friends - a Swede and an Italian - invited us to a wedding in Italy. A lot of people wanted to fly to beautiful Puglia, so there were a lot of married couples at the wedding, mind you, young ones. There, the fact that for a Swede any dress is already an outfit worthy of being worn to such a pompous celebration somehow especially caught my eye. Anything, even if it’s a beach sundress. Part of our Swedish representation was dressed exactly like this. On our part, the option was also widely presented: a “silk” knee-length dress + tights + sandals. Frankly, before this I thought that this was the “chic” of my native place. It turns out that Swedes like this too. More or less in line with the event were those Swedish wives who were foreigners - Brazilian, Polish, Romanian, Iranian. Local Italians, with their natural, albeit deliberate, manner, of course, shone.

The same wedding, the newlyweds surrounded by Swedish relatives.

On the farm

By the way, we recently bought a dog from a remote farm by the sea. We arrived and found ourselves in an exotic place—geese, alpacas, and horses were grazing in the yard. The owner of this miracle is a bright, beautiful woman, rather fragile, but strong, dressed in stylish jeans, high boots, a leather jacket - the same jockey look that is so fashionable in the city. Alpacas and geese did not stop the woman from having a striking manicure with polish the color of ripe lingonberries.

This is not that farmer's wife, but a riding school instructor

In the University

But where you can see a completely different Sweden - sexy, relaxed, fashionable not with heavy fashion, but with real, light and pleasant ones - this is in the city where my daughter lives. The city-forming enterprise of that town is the university. And there even the girls’ facial expressions are completely different, and their clothing style is special. It contains challenge, elegance, simplicity, intricacy, and most importantly, naturalness. It’s not that we, in the second largest city in the country, don’t have this, it’s just that there it’s served in a concentrated form. Once you get on the intercity bus that goes there, you notice that it has a completely different style concentrated in it. And even those girls to whom nature has allocated beauty in a greatly reduced volume are attractive.

In the theatre

And finally, one more story. Not long ago we went to our opera house with our son. Our opera is different, without gold and velvet curtains, in simple wood, metal and glass.

The main feature of our theater is its incomparable acoustics and simple functional architecture, not without a certain elegance, but not the decoration of the hall. And they dress the same way for the theater.

During the intermission, I asked my son - walk around, take a closer look, maybe you will see some beautiful aunt, tell me, I’ll quietly take a photo of her. Most of the ladies around me looked either homely or ridiculous. Finally the son ran up and whispered hotly in his ear:

- Mom, mom, there is one beautifully dressed aunt, over there.

I looked where my son pointed - and did not go to take a photo of her, although my aunt was really dressed beautifully, gracefully, tastefully and without overdoing it. I knew this aunt well - she was Lena, an anesthesiologist from Riga, we once went to Swedish language school together. Lena always dressed very elegantly and looked ten years younger than her years. It is not surprising that in the entire crowded theater my son noticed her. The rest were dressed as if they were going to a picnic in a nearby park.
