Repair a suitcase on wheels with your own hands. How to repair the telescopic handle of a suitcase in an emergency? Cheap and high quality products

To mom

All year a person waits for the blessed holiday time, remembering how great everything was (in most cases) last time. And already prepare for a new trip, thinking about the upcoming trip and collecting money “in a pile”. And now the long-awaited, but at the same time unexpected luck in the form of a “last minute” tour came to the house. 24 hours to get ready, pack your suitcase and hit the road!

But the suitcase removed from the mezzanine is shocking with its obscene appearance, and then we remember, yes, it happened, a wheel came off, but it’s not a problem, the trouble is that we don’t know where it is. And another one, which is smaller, has fallen into disrepair and, apparently, buying a new suitcase cannot be avoided. And this is an unplanned waste of money that will not be superfluous on vacation. Therefore, we will do repairs.

First of all, it is necessary to remove the wheel niches from the place of attachment; they are held on the suitcase body by some kind of rivets, the splayed tips of which (from the inside of the suitcase) must be thoroughly squeezed “into a bunch” with pliers and then either knocked out using a weaving nail (if not punch) with a hammer, or pull it out with the same pliers, hooking it to the cap from the outside. This will not be difficult to do at all, because this fastening is essentially decorative. So the wheel arches have been removed.

Next, we take the available wheels and go shopping or to the market in search of an adequate replacement. And don’t ask for wheels for a suitcase - you won’t find them. Ask for wheels for roller skates. You can easily find the larger ones. But the middle wheel, with a smaller diameter, was found in a hardware store among furniture fittings; it was called a “support wheel.” Please note that the roller skate wheels have two bearings each, this means that they will not wear out, and the suitcase will move faster than the person rolling it.

I note that previously large wheels rotated on an axle with a diameter of 6 mm, and for the new ones, axles with a diameter of 8 mm are needed, but nothing needs to be drilled out; during operation, the old axles have already worn through the plastic of the holes to just the right size. The wheel is installed in the niche in the following order: the axle is passed into the hole in the niche wall, then a washer is put on without fail (to prevent the side of the wheel from touching the walls of the niche), the wheel itself is installed, another washer is installed, and the axle is inserted into the hole in the second wall. But the nut is screwed on after the niche is installed, but before it is secured with screws.

The niche, when put in place, is secured with M6 screws with washers and a nut (it’s better even with two - lock it in)

I did not remove the furniture support that was taken in place of the middle wheel from the existing metal base, but sawed off the excess from it so that it would fit into the niche. Due to the existing stop, the wheel did not fall inside the niche due to the hole created by the previous axle, but stood up exactly as needed.

The assembled “chassis” would look no worse than new if it weren’t for the abrasions on the bottom upholstery, although they are not visible “in working position.” As for the movement indicators, they are definitely superior to the previous ones.

So I didn’t have to buy a new “fellow traveler” for “from 2000 rubles and above.” The suitcase is ready for further use and I can assure you of long-term use.

  • P.S. On the good side, if you bought a suitcase in the budget price range, then all this needs to be done immediately after purchasing it.

Of course, you can find suitcase repair in Moscow, but this service requires an investment of time and effort, which in reality does not correspond to the complexity of the breakdown. So you can save your money and time and repair your old or new suitcase yourself. Moreover, in most cases it is quite simple.

What will be required for repairs?

First of all, you should stock up on tools - a Phillips and slotted screwdriver; pliers will also come in handy. Well, it would be nice to have some idea about the use of all this stuff. Although for a real man this will not be difficult.

But most importantly, you need to have a new handle for your suitcase in stock - you can buy it in a store or online. But before buying new spare parts, you should dismantle the broken handle and buy exactly the same one. In some cases, you may need to buy fittings for suitcases or separate parts for handles.

Now you can safely begin the repair.

Repair of stationary suitcase handles - procedure

The easiest way to repair a suitcase with your own hands is if the stationary handle breaks, that is, the same handle that is located on the top, bottom or side walls of the luggage. For repairs, such a handle is simply removed and replaced with a new one. The handles are fastened either with screws or with rivets; in the first case, you need to use a screwdriver, and in the second, try to remove the rivets with wire cutters or pliers.

Installing the new handle is easy - it is simply secured with the same screws. But if rivets are used as fasteners, then you need to buy a handle for the suitcase along with them, or make them from aluminum wire. In this case, to install the rivets, you will have to crawl under the lining of the suitcase - for this there must be a zipper or Velcro. If the lining does not allow access to the inner surface of the suitcase, you will have to cut it and then carefully sew it up.

As you can see, changing the handle (provided you buy a new handle for a suitcase ready-made) on your luggage is quite simple. But things are somewhat more complicated with repairs using a telescopic (retractable) handle.

Repair of retractable suitcase handles

It should be noted right away that the repair of suitcase handles is carried out depending on the type and degree of complexity of their breakdown, as well as depending on your cost expectations. The easiest way is to install a new telescopic handle to replace the old one, but to do this you will have to buy a new handle assembly and simply replace the old one with it. A more complex method is to repair or replace some parts of a broken handle; it makes sense to resort to this method only if it is impossible to find original spare parts. However, repairing suitcases in Moscow in the second case will be more expensive (the master will argue for the need to disassemble the suitcase, drill holes and the need to perform other mechanical processing of parts).

Repairing a retractable suitcase handle begins with its dismantling. To do this, you need to get under the lining of the suitcase and unscrew the handle from the bottom and top (usually it is attached to several self-tapping screws). Then the handle is removed through the top, but here you can encounter an unexpected difficulty - the upper part of the handle is attached to the suitcase with latches, which must be carefully detached using a screwdriver without damaging the suitcase body.

Next, a new part is placed in place of the old handle and secured with self-tapping screws. In the new handle, the holes for fasteners may be located in other places, so here you will have to try to carefully screw the screws into the new points. Now you can close the lining and use the repaired suitcase!

As you have seen, repairing a new or old suitcase is not too difficult and is accessible to literally everyone. But if repairs don’t help, then you can always buy a new suitcase in our store.

A modern person constantly travels, goes on vacation or on business trips by personal car, bus, train, plane. By the way, a little over a hundred years ago there were no suitcases and travelers had to transport luggage in chests, boxes and knapsacks.

Before packing for a trip, the question arises about the need for a suitcase or travel bag. Depending on the purpose of the trip and its duration, the suitcase should have different capacities. Therefore, those who travel frequently have to have several suitcases and travel bags at their disposal.

On the road, suitcases are subjected to significant physical stress and therefore break, especially handles and wheels. The main cause of breakdowns is careless operation. Even if you handle your suitcase carefully on the way, you are not sure that the baggage handlers at the airport will also handle it. To minimize the possibility of a suitcase breaking on the way, you should choose the right model when purchasing and, of course, it would be a good idea to wrap the suitcase with protective film before checking it in as luggage. This service is provided at almost all airports.

Selecting a suitcase

Volume, suitcase capacity

One of the main parameters of a suitcase is its volume (capacity), which is measured in liters. Therefore, before purchasing, you need to evaluate the volume of things for the trip and, based on this, decide on the capacity of the suitcase. It is not recommended to transport valuables in a suitcase if it will be checked in as checked luggage. Therefore, if there are more things than enough for a small suitcase, which can be taken with you as hand luggage in any type of transport, then it is advisable to supplement the suitcase with a travel bag, into which you can put essential items that are valuable and are afraid of shock.

If your trip involves flying by plane, then you need to take into account that, according to international rules, the weight of a suitcase or travel bag that you are allowed to take with you as hand luggage should not exceed 8 kg, while having overall dimensions of no more than 55x40x20 centimeters. The weight of a suitcase checked in as checked baggage should not exceed 23 kg, regardless of the number of travelers.

For example, two people are traveling, if the weight of one suitcase for two is 26 kg, then you will have to pay for 3 extra kilograms, but if you have 2 suitcases of 20 kg each, then you will not need to pay extra. Therefore, if in doubt, it is better to weigh your suitcase in advance so as not to pay for extra pounds or deal with repacking at the airport. The data provided is for reference only, since each airline, depending on the type of aircraft, can establish its own rules, which you must familiarize yourself with before the flight.

There are suitcases whose volume can be changed by one third by simply unzipping the zipper. Such a suitcase will help out on the way back, providing additional space for purchases and souvenirs.

In the photo on the left, the zipper is fastened, and on the right, it is unzipped along the perimeter of the suitcase. As a result, the suitcase became one third more spacious.

It should be noted that, regardless of the volume of the suitcase, the design of the handles and wheels is designed for weight, as a rule, no more than 12 kg, therefore, if you plan to load the suitcase with a large weight, then when purchasing a suitcase you need to find out from the seller what maximum loading weight the selected model can withstand .

Suitcase handles

In 1978, Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov dedicated the fable “A Suitcase Without a Handle” to the handle of a suitcase:
That suitcase has long been without a handle,
I should leave it somewhere along the way,
Yes, it’s a shame to throw it away, even if you can’t carry it with your hand...

A short retelling of S.V. Mikhalkov’s fable has taken root among the people: “like a suitcase without a handle - it’s hard to carry and it’s a pity to throw it away.”

Therefore, when choosing a suitcase, you need to pay special attention to the handle. The hand should fit comfortably around your arm. To do this, the suitcase handle must be round and of sufficient size. The handle must be securely fastened to the wall of the suitcase with rivets or screws. On the inside, under the rivets, nuts or screw heads, washers with a diameter several times larger than the size of the rivet heads, screws or nuts must be installed. The fastening elements of the handles inside the suitcase are not visible, since they are located under the fabric covering, but they can usually be easily felt by hand.

If you buy a suitcase with wheels, then there should be three handles. One on the side, and two on the end. One is stationary, the same as on the side, and the other is retractable. A stationary handle at the end is needed so that you can carry it over curbs and other obstacles without sliding the drawer or turning the suitcase.

The retractable handle should be long enough so that you do not have to bend when rolling the suitcase. The handle must have a mechanism for fixing it in the recessed position and extended. In the retractable handle shown in the photo, a compass is built into the control button of the clamps. It's a small thing, but nice.

About zippers and suitcase locks

The zipper must be made of plastic, large, reversible (have two sliders so that it can be fastened from either end), and remain operational even if up to two adjacent teeth are lost. The slider keychain should be large enough to be held comfortably in your hand when closing the zipper.

It is desirable that the zipper slider key fobs can be fixed in the lock. Although such a lock has weak protection against opening, it still has at least some element of security.

About the material of the suitcase

Suitcases come with soft and hard shells. Soft suitcases are made of polyester and nylon impregnated with a water-repellent composition. Solid ones are made of plastic reinforced with metal shavings. They are heavier than soft suitcases, but due to the lack of deformation when compressed, they allow you to transport fragile items. The plastic is easily scratched, and if the suitcase comes into contact with the conveyor collar on the conveyor belt, a mark will remain on the body. Therefore, a plastic suitcase must be wrapped in film before checking it in to protect it from abrasions.

About the suitcase on wheels

Nowadays, suitcases on wheels are very popular, since even with the greater weight of the suitcase, more muscle strength is not required to move it. When choosing a suitcase with wheels, it is obvious that the larger the diameter of the wheels, the less dynamic load they will bear on uneven roads.

Suitcases have two or more wheels. The more wheels, the better, if the wheels are on the same axle, since the load on an individual wheel will be less, and with small holes the suitcase will roll smoothly. Silicone wheels are considered the most reliable, but I have not noticed that rubber wheels do not last long. It's just a matter of rubber quality. The wheels of all cars, even trucks, are made of rubber and they travel thousands of kilometers. The wheels of a suitcase travel no more than a few hundred meters in one trip. So you don’t have to focus on the material from which the wheels are made.

As a rule, failure of suitcase wheels occurs not because of their poor quality, but because suitcases are abandoned by baggage handlers when overloaded at airports. If the suitcase is heavy and unlucky and lands on a wheel due to overload after a flight, then no matter how strong it is, either the wheel itself or its fastening may still break. The same fate befell my suitcase; I had to start repairing it.

Suitcase repair

Repair of stationary handle

The existing suitcase was too large for one traveler, and the wife decided, when preparing to travel to one of the European countries, to buy a new, more expensive and smaller suitcase.

But what a surprise when at home, upon careful inspection of the suitcase, it turned out that one of the rivets securing the handle to the base of the suitcase had come loose and was hanging in the air. While the empty suitcase was being carried home from the store, the rivet fell off. It's good that the handle didn't break during the trip.

It was possible to return to the store and replace the suitcase under warranty, but it was faster to fix this breakdown with my own hands, which is what I did.

A pleasant surprise was the presence of a zipper on the inner lining of the suitcase. To get to the rivet installation site, it was enough to unfasten the snake.

Instead of a rivet, I used an M4 screw with a conical head, which fit well into the plastic washer installed at the factory under the rivet head.

A nut was screwed onto the screw from the inside of the suitcase; to prevent it from unscrewing itself, a locknut was screwed on top. The washer was not placed under it, since there was a profiled steel strip running along the entire perimeter of the suitcase. An external inspection of the remaining rivets did not reveal any defects and I hope that I will not have to deal with any more repairs to the stationary handles of this suitcase.

Repair of retractable telescopic handle

The repaired stationary handle passed the travel test successfully. But on the way, another breakdown occurred; it broke off from the sides of the retractable handle from the telescopic tube.

In order not to break the telescopic tube, I had to not roll the suitcase on wheels, but carry it with my hands using the previously repaired handle. She passed the test.

To repair the retractable handle, you must first disconnect it from the telescopic tubes. To do this, just unscrew one screw on the sides of the tubes.

When the handle was removed, it turned out that it consists of three parts, a handle that is used to grip the suitcase when carrying it, and two corners. The shank of one of the corners broke off. Finding such a spare part is almost impossible, so I had to think about how to repair the handle using improvised methods.

The corner was attached to the base of the handle using one 18 mm long screw, deeply recessed into the tail section. It became obvious that this was a mistake made by the designers in an attempt to save on the length of screws and plastic. It was not possible to restore the integrity of the shank by gluing or another method with sufficient strength. Therefore, it was decided to fasten the shank to the corner and at the same time secure the corner to the base of the handle using a long self-tapping screw or screw.

I didn’t have a self-tapping screw of a suitable length and diameter at hand, so I decided to fasten it using the existing M4 threaded screw. Since the diameter of the hole in the handle shank was almost equal to the diameter of the screw head, flat washers had to be installed.

The holes in the corners were drilled with a drill with a diameter of 4 mm. To avoid breaking the second corner, it was also attached, like the broken one, with a long screw. What was surprising was that the corners were made of different types of plastic, as evidenced by its color. One corner was white and the other black.

In the handle itself, in the places where self-tapping screws were previously screwed in, through holes with a diameter of 4 mm were also drilled. If self-tapping screws are used for fastening, then it will be necessary to drill holes with a diameter equal to the internal diameter of the screw thread, otherwise it will be impossible to tighten the screw.

Next, a nut was screwed onto the screw and, using a soldering iron, fused into the base of the handle flush. Previously, a hole was widened for the nut with a diameter equal to the minimum distance between the faces of the nut.

After the nut has been fused into the handle, the resulting plastic deposits are cut off with a knife or removed with a file. The preparatory work is completed, and you can begin installing the handle on the telescopic tubes.

The broken shank, rather for ease of assembly than for fastening, was glued to the base of the corner of the handle with universal Moment glue. All the same, the shank will be securely fixed with a screw, and its rotation will be limited by the walls of the telescopic tube.

All that remains is to insert the handle shanks into the telescopic tubes and secure them with two self-tapping screws. The retractable handle has been repaired without compromising the appearance of the suitcase. Now the suitcase is ready to travel again. I hope that the wheels and other parts of the suitcase will not let you down again.

Wheel repair

My suitcase had eight wheels located on one axis, which was a thin-walled tube. The wheels were fixed at the ends of this axis using two pins threaded through the holes. Since the walls of the tube were thin, after each trip this tubular axis was bent, and it had to be aligned so that the wheels were on the same geometric axis. But the last time, when the suitcase was overloaded, the wheels were hit with such force that one of the pins was cut off, and two wheels were lost. The suitcase is still in excellent condition and I didn’t want to buy a new one due to the loss of two wheels. I had to start repairing it. We couldn't find wheels that fit the size. I decided that the six remaining ones would be enough to move the suitcase if the axis on which they were installed was strengthened.

It was decided to strengthen the wheel axle using a metal rod inserted inside the standard wheel axle. Therefore, the new axle length was chosen to be a couple of millimeters longer than the width of the remaining six wheels.

To securely fasten the wheels to the axle, nuts were used instead of studs.

To do this, threads were cut at the ends of a metal rod with a long, larger tubular axis the width of the thread.

How to cut threads on wheel axles

You can cut threads at home using a die installed in a die holder. To do this, so that the die can easily cut into the metal, it is necessary to chamfer the end of the rod.

To cut a thread on an axle, you need to press the die with the intake part to the axle and, pressing strongly from above, with one hand, rotate the die holder by the handle. After several revolutions, the cutting edges of the dies will enter the metal and thread cutting can continue without pressure from above. To make threading easier, you can moisten the axle with a drop of machine oil. The thread is cut in one pass.

When the threads on both ends of the rod are cut, it needs to be inserted into the tubular axle and you can begin installing the wheels on the suitcase. Cup washers were used for aesthetics and to protect the nuts from impact.

Since the tubular axle is slightly longer than the wheel assembly, when put on the additional axle, the cup washer rests against it and can be pressed tightly with a nut. This way ensures reliable fixation of the nut from self-unscrewing.

To completely eliminate the possibility of losing the suitcase wheels, the lock nut was additionally tightened and the end of the axle was slightly riveted. Now even with a wrench it will be difficult to unscrew the nut.

The reliability of repaired suitcase wheels has been tested by travel practice. Nine flights by plane with a suitcase weighing more than 15 kg checked in as luggage and rolling it on paving slabs did not at all affect the straightness of the axle and the condition of the wheels.

By reducing the number of wheels in the suitcase, the outer wheels are located further from the corners of the suitcase, so the likelihood of the suitcase falling onto the wheel when overloaded by movers has significantly decreased.

Repairing suitcase legs using scrap materials

The new design for fastening the wheels successfully withstood the long journey, but the plastic base to which the legs of the suitcase were molded cracked at the junction of the legs. It became obvious that the legs of the suitcase could fall off on the next trip at any time. When significant lateral hand force was applied to the legs, they broke off. The suitcase legs also had to be repaired.

In this case, it is useless to reliably connect the broken legs to the plastic base with glue or by catching metal brackets, since the first time the suitcase lands when there is overload on the leg, it will break off. So I decided to make new legs.

To install the new design of legs on the suitcase, you first need to remove the old plastic base, which is screwed to the suitcase body using two M4 screws and nuts. The screw heads with large washers are located inside the suitcase under the casing, and the nuts are recessed into the base and require a thin-walled socket wrench to unscrew them. I had one like this, made with my own hands from a piece of pipe.

When holding the screw heads by hand, using a wrench, the nuts were easily unscrewed, and the base was removed as unnecessary. To remove the mounting screws and washers from the inner lining of the suitcase, I had to cut it at the bottom of the suitcase by a couple of centimeters.

I came across a piece of aluminum electrical wire with insulation with a diameter of 6 mm. Of course, it would be better to make a leg from an aluminum tube, but such a thing was not found. Using a vice, the wire was shaped into future legs.

The leg is secured in the metal square standard tubes of the suitcase with the ends bent in half using longer M4 screws. In order for the leg to be tightly fixed, plywood inserts 8 mm thick, 50 mm long and wide are inserted into the remaining free space of the tubes, ensuring a tight fit in the rectangular tube.

After the leg and liners are installed in the square tubes, you need to secure them. To do this, points for drilling are first marked in the center of the square pipe at a distance of 20 mm from the end. Next, using a 4 mm drill, through holes are drilled at the designated points, through a square tube, aluminum wire folded in half - the leg, the liner, the second side of the tube and the suitcase body.

A screw is inserted into the drilled hole, a wide, previously standing washer is put on, and the screw is fixed inside the suitcase with a nut. To prevent it from unscrewing, a lock nut is screwed on. To prevent protruding wine from ruining things, you can put a plastic cap on it.

The new leg looks good, if you need to change its color, then before bending, you can put a heat-shrinkable tube on the wire. They are available in all sizes and colors.

The test showed that the new suitcase leg ensures good vertical stability at different levels of loading.

Making new suitcase legs from aluminum profiles

The legs of the suitcase, made of aluminum wire, lasted a dozen flights, but when overloaded in the luggage compartments, they bent each time, and had to be straightened by hand. As a result of repeated bending, the wire broke. I had to make new, more reliable legs.

A U-shaped aluminum profile was available. From this I cut out new legs for the suitcase, which are shown in the picture.

A couple of sections with a width equal to the internal diameter of the square tube of the suitcase were sawed off from the profile with a metal hacksaw.

A hole was drilled in the center of one side of each leg, matching the hole in the square tube of the suitcase.

The square tube was inserted into the plastic wheel mount and secured to the base of the suitcase using a 6mm screw and nut.

The nut was used to be self-locking so that it would not unscrew. If you don’t have one at hand, you can use two simple nuts tightened towards each other. To prevent the nut from breaking through the suitcase body, a wide washer was installed.

The legs of the suitcase have already withstood a dozen overloads at airports. But even if they break, then in half an hour it will be possible to make the same new ones and replace them. The design lived up to expectations.

You will need

  • - adhesive tape or tape;
  • - hard tire, lining;
  • - threaded connection bolt-nut;
  • - electric drill with drill.

Instructions

Take care of your luggage when going on a long trip. In order not to be left alone with a suitcase that is “hard to carry and a shame to throw away,” do not be seduced by the cheapness of the models on offer. Even if you can't afford branded Louis Vuitton or Samsonite suitcases, buy a decent, durable trolley suitcase at the best price.

Choose a modern plastic suitcase on wheels with several handles, one of which is telescopic. For a longer service life, the suitcase should have a streamlined shape. Therefore, the handles of the suitcase should not protrude beyond its limits. Telescopic handles are located in a special niche. They should slide out freely and return to their niche with a slight movement of the hand.

It’s good if the suitcase model you choose has not two, but three handles. The last handle, located at the bottom of the suitcase, performs the functions. In this case, the handles of the suitcase can be put aside until the end of the trip, since instead of one broken handle you can use others without significant inconvenience.

Repair the suitcase handle yourself if a breakdown occurs on the road. If the handle is cracked in half, attach some kind of rigid tire to it and wrap it with tape or insulating tape. The role of a tire can be played by a massive fountain pen, felt-tip pens, pencils or even a toothbrush. In the absence of tape, tightly bandage the handle of the trolley suitcase with improvised means - a large handkerchief, scarf, etc. Use your imagination, you can’t carry a suitcase without a handle under your arm.

Repair of a suitcase handle is most often required when the mechanism for extending the telescopic handle is broken. In case of such a malfunction, it is better to contact a specialized workshop. The strength of the handle is affected by the area, but not the cross-sectional shape. It doesn't matter whether the retractable handle of your suitcase is oval, rectangular or round.

If the cost of repairing the sliding mechanism of your expensive suitcase is comparable to the price of a new one, refuse the repair and buy another suitcase with wheels. As an option, you can buy a cheap Chinese suitcase, remove this mechanism from it and mount it yourself on your expensive suitcase.

Contact a repair shop if the side handle of the suitcase is torn out. Or try to repair it yourself. To do this, you will have to pile up rigid pads, drill holes and use a threaded bolt-nut connection. Let your suitcases serve you for a long time and return intact after each trip!

Modern travel bags are complex mechanical structures. They often have several holders of different structures, so repairing a suitcase handle is not an easy process. After all, these can be complex retractable devices with combination locks. Also, modern travel bags have many different clasps and compartments. Recently, you can see a lot of different suitcases on wheels. Such devices are very practical, convenient and have a pleasant appearance.

Some people buy expensive accessories, which are a reflection of their financial status, because high-quality branded bags have a high cost. But even for them, sometimes a suitcase repair service may be required, which is offered by the Leda household service. Our company does this efficiently, reliably and at an affordable price. Suitcase repair in Moscow may be needed in case of breakage of locks, fasteners, wheels and other parts. The technician eliminates breakdowns, replaces individual elements of the suitcase, and improves its appearance.

REPAIR A SUITCASE IN MOSCOW

A travel suitcase very often breaks down at the most inopportune moment. Especially often there can be problems with wheels and mechanisms. To avoid such force majeure, take care of the reliability of your accessory. The Leda household service repairs travel suitcases on wheels in Moscow quickly and efficiently. When wheels break, replacing bearings or holders will often be sufficient. But there are times when it is better to install new wheels. Diagnosis and repair of breakdowns is carried out by professional craftsmen, who have a wide range of spare parts on hand necessary for repairing suitcases.

Definitely, these assistants are the most practical things for long trips, but they can also let you down. Therefore, be sure to seek help from specialists so that you can go on your trip safely. In addition to replacing wheels, the Leda company also repairs suitcase handles. Definitely, the holder is one of the main attributes of the bag, without which it will be uncomfortable to use the item.

The mechanisms most often use retractable handles, which, unfortunately, are susceptible to breakage. In most cases, retractable handles are made of plastic. Sometimes you can see leather handles, it all depends on the model and type of bag. If it is a retractable mechanism, then if it is not possible to repair it, it is completely replaced. If the bag has handles made of fabric or leather, specialists most often replace the material with a new one. This procedure allows you to extend the life of your suitcase and save money, because you can postpone the purchase of a new bag.
