Hill of Apollo (Sun) is located at the base of Apollo's finger and is limited on one side by the hill of Saturn, on the other by the hill of Mercury, and is separated from below by the line of the Heart.

Girls pay special attention to their nails, but it will also be useful for guys to pay attention to them. Different schools of palmistry have different approaches to determining the meaning of nails and the signs on them. The approaches to classification are also different. Unfortunately, the interpretation of the signs that nails bear varies too much depending on the positions of the authors. So, some claim the possibility of determining the diagnosis and the exact time of illness, others claim that it is possible to determine only a person’s character traits, his innate capabilities. As often happens, the truth appears somewhere in the combination of these two approaches. Let's try to figure it out.

It is undeniable that nails are an indicator of a person’s physical condition, health, as well as some of his character traits. First, let's describe a normal, almost perfect nail and its meaning (Figure 1).

The size of the nail should be assessed in proportion to the hand. On the average person’s hand, the length of the nail is a little more than a centimeter, has a round shape, pale pink color, without grooves or spots, and with shine. It should be neither hard nor soft. The hole at the bottom of the nail should have the shape of a small arc, milky color and no more than a fifth of the length of the nail.

Owners of this type of nail have an easygoing, gentle character, a broad outlook and innate natural strength, and are resistant to diseases. Accordingly, any deviations from this ideal will indicate possible deviations in the person’s character and health problems.

Long nails (Figure 2). The length of the nail must be assessed based on the proportionality of the phalanx of the finger and the hand as a whole. A little experience and you will learn to accurately determine the appropriate type for yourself. They indicate a delicate, modest, sometimes even timid person. They are impressionable and try to avoid conflicts. They easily come to agreement with others, but at the same time they often unnecessarily avoid real problems. They have some potential in art.

Short nail (Figure 3). In contrast to the previous type, they are very conflictual, they criticize everyone and even themselves. Such people are analytical and have an authoritarian mindset. A lively and energetic mind forces them to engage in constant skirmishes and arguments, which bring them pleasure. They have a sense of humor and are ironic about what they cannot understand. They are not suitable for team work and cannot tolerate monotonous work. The extreme manifestation of these qualities is demonstrated by people with very short, as if ingrained nails. They are irritable, nervous, and do not recognize other people's opinions.

When I analyze the indicated types of nails, it is necessary to pay attention to the ratio of their length and width. Normally, the length should be slightly greater than the width. This gives a person a sense of justice, self-control, and compassion. The width of the nail gives a person practicality, but in extreme manifestations - nervousness, despotism, and hot temper. Such people believe that their opinion is unanimously correct, which allows them to interfere in the destinies of other people with good intentions. Too narrow nails alienate a person from realizing their plans; they lack the strength to translate them into reality.

In addition, the classification of nail types by shape has proven to be significant in practice. So, in general, all nail shapes can be reduced to four - square, rectangular, oval and spade-shaped (Figure 4). To understand the meaning of this classification, it is necessary to know the general meaning of each individual finger (Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury), since a certain shape will direct the qualities of this finger to one or another sphere of spiritual life. For the purposes of this article, we will limit ourselves only to the general characteristics of each form.

A square nail indicates a person’s constant work on negative qualities, both in the material and spiritual spheres, which will find specific manifestation in the qualities for which a certain finger is responsible. A rectangular finger indicates the predominance of the spiritual sphere over the material. An oval nail helps a person find a balance between the material and spiritual spheres of a person’s life.

Shovel-shaped - demonstrates people of action, they are innovators, pioneers, they believe that inaction is the main mistake.

Thus, white spots on the nails may indicate a lack of minerals, exhaustion and possible insomnia.

Deep horizontal furrows (Bo lines - Figure 5) are an indicator of a previous illness, emotional shock or hormonal imbalance in the body.

A pale or bluish color demonstrates the opposite qualities - low blood pressure, circulatory problems, anemia. Similar qualities are confirmed by the holes on the nails. Their absence also indicates possible problems with blood circulation.

Brown color of nails means a person has mental disabilities, but if this is a temporary sign, it is associated with the functioning of the liver.

And, undoubtedly, the most studied medical sign on the nails is the so-called Hippocratic finger (Figure 7).

Such fingers are swollen, resemble a dome, the tip of the nail is drooping or bent down. Often these nails have a bluish tint. Medicine associates such nails with a number of advanced and dangerous diseases of the heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract and immune problems. So, if you find such nails on more than two or three fingers in a person, it is better to advise him to see a doctor.

Possibilities of chirology are very broad: this includes the definition of hereditary diseases, and the diagnosis of a person’s psychophysical state, and the compilation of personal characteristics... Many people confuse chirology with palmistry and consider it ordinary quackery, but we still risk publishing some interesting, in our opinion, facts. After all, all these statements can be tested in practice and form your own opinion about the client. Considering the specifics of the journal, we will focus first on the study of nails. Since the time of Hippocrates, it has been believed that diseases of internal organs, as well as a person’s mental state, can be determined by the appearance and shape of nails. A full member of the Riga Society of Psychical Research, one of the leading chirologists, V. A. Wrede, made a number of sensational statements at the beginning of the last century. He claimed that hard nails and strong bones are indicators of health. Very hard nails, resembling claws in structure, speak of anger, painful pride, intolerance and greed for money. Soft, thin nails and thin bone - about soreness and weakness of will. Habit of biting or biting nails– about nervousness, hypochondria, often abnormal sensuality; Such people easily provoke quarrels and squabbles. In addition to the research of V. A. Wrede, research related to the diagnosis of various diseases is known. They were published by Dr. Schinner in 1925. Studying for many years the shape, relief and color of the nail plates and phalanges of the fingers, he found a characteristic relationship between their condition and a number of diseases.
So, according to Schinner, normal nail shape indicates that the person is practically healthy; if the nails are short and flat, organic heart pathologies are possible. Large nail hole indicates tachycardia, and its absence indicates cardiac neurosis.
