Volumetric ladybug made of beads. Beaded ladybug: basic weaving methods

Halloween

Friends, today we would like to tell you about how to make a ladybug from beads in the form of a keychain. A step-by-step diagram of weaving this bug, which you will find in our master class, will help us with this.

Tools and materials Time: 45 minutes Difficulty: 2/10

  • black and red beads, quite large;
  • black cord that will fit the diameter of the holes in the beads;
  • keychain ring;
  • scissors.

The ladybug is a symbol of spring, which we suggest you make from beads. The resulting souvenir can be given to friends and acquaintances, or simply hung on your keys so that this cute creature will always be with you and bring good luck.

Beaded ladybug for beginners

Weaving pattern

So, let's start working on the souvenir.

Step 1: braiding the head

We start work by cutting off a piece of cord, 80 centimeters long. We string a couple of black beads on it, and send it to the center. The weaving will run parallel. Interesting flat figures of animals and plants are often woven this way.

As a rule, wire is used for this, as it holds its shape better. But in this case, since the product is very small, you can get by with a regular cord. Despite this change in material, the ladybug will still keep its shape perfectly.

If you want to immediately place the product on the ring, then it is better to do this even before the beads are used. You then fold the cord in half and secure it at the folded location on the ring.

Next we cross the two loose tails of the cord in two black beads. We tighten it all and bring it as close to the ring as possible.

Step 2: weave the body

Next we cross the threads in three black beads. With each row the number of beads increases. For the next row we will use not only black, but also red beads, as the formation of the back will begin. We cross the threads of two red and two black beads.

Contemplating the work of masters who have been perfecting their beading skills for years, you never cease to admire. How easily and quickly skillful hands create real masterpieces from small beads! But these masters once started with simple bugs, dragonflies and spiders. In this lesson we will learn how to weave a ladybug from beads, which will be a step towards mastering this magnificent craft and will serve as a wonderful decoration or decorative item.

To start working with beads, you don’t need much:

  • high-quality materials (beads, bugles, beads, wire, fishing line, jewelry cable, monofilament);
  • suitable tools (scissors, tweezers, wire cutters, bead needles, organizer);
  • scheme;
  • fantasy;
  • patience;
  • perseverance.

To make this cute craft, you need to prepare beads No. 10 in black, white, red (blue or any other) colors. You should also purchase special wire 0.3 mm thick in advance. You will need small wire cutters to cut the wire.

According to the presented drawing, weaving a *ladybug from beads* should be done using the parallel weaving technique. Thanks to this, the craft will turn out voluminous. However, to achieve this effect, each row must be formed correctly.

To do this, while working, bend the collected rows one by one:

  • back - away from you,
  • the abdomen, on the contrary, is towards itself.

To prevent the bug from becoming deformed over time, it should be filled with a piece of polymer clay, cellophane or small beads. Only after this the “insect” will keep its shape for a long time.

Bug weaving pattern

As you can see from the diagram, you should start weaving the bug “from the head”. For this:

  1. We bite off a piece of wire and string 3 beads (black) onto it. We place them in the center of the segment.
  2. Then we make “antennae”: we string 3 more black and one light bead on both ends. Bypassing the light one, we return the ends back (to the original three beads), threading the wire through the holes of the recently collected black ones.
  3. Second stage (according to the line on the diagram). We collect four black beads and, passing the ends of the wire through them, cross them. Gently pull the wire.
  4. We repeat the previous procedure.
  5. We weave further according to the pattern, not forgetting to make “legs” and bend the rows of the abdomen and back in the desired direction.
  6. After finishing the work, the wire should be carefully secured and the ends hidden inside the toy.

It’s not difficult to make clover, which goes well with a small bug. By attaching a ladybug to this “plant” you can make an interesting decoration.

Weaving a ladybug according to the pattern

The diagram shows in detail each step of creating the product. It consists of four petals and a long stem. As indicated above, for each leaf you need to prepare a 50-centimeter piece of wire.

There are various ways to weave this bug. For variety, you can even make a flat model with open wings - such a “bug” will look very funny.

First we make the antennae, and then the head of a *beaded ladybug*, as in the previous work. Row by row we weave the body and legs. Then we make two symmetrical wings and securely fasten them to the body.

Gradually, by practicing weaving these cute insects, you will develop the necessary beading skills. You will have a desire to conquer new heights of skill, working on more complex schemes or inventing your own motives. And in a few years, beginners, admiring your work, will set themselves goals of mastering such a wonderful art of beading!

A beaded ladybug can be made using various techniques - an embroidered ladybug looks cute on children's clothing, you can embroider it with beads on felt and make a keychain, or use it as a brooch. Training videos are widely available on the Internet.

Beginning needlewomen can try making a model on wire. More experienced craftsmen work in the techniques of hand weaving and mosaic weaving. Among the non-standard methods of ladybug beading are crocheting and laying thread with stringed beads.

The technique is so simple that even a child can handle it. The finished result resembles embroidery. The whole process consists of several stages:

  1. The base to be braided is prepared.
  2. At its base, the tip of the working thread is attached with transparent rubber glue.
  3. Beads are strung on the second end of the thread in accordance with the diagram.
  4. The thread is laid around the base in tight rings.

To securely attach the beads to the base, you can use transparent glue. Can be used even adhesive designed for ceiling tiles. It is not recommended to use opaque adhesives such as PVA and super glue. For stringing beads, preference should be given to a thin silk thread.

The work will require a diagram. Particularly popular are those designed for cross stitch. It is important to ensure that the beads of the main motif are evenly positioned. In areas with background can be added or removed extra beads. Thus, it is possible to repeat the shape of the base as accurately as possible. This technique allows you to quickly turn the most ordinary item into a spectacular souvenir: an Easter egg, a gift bottle, unique spice sets.

Working with wire

A simple way to make a three-dimensional ladybug is by stringing it on wire. For such a beaded ladybug, the weaving pattern must be drawn up in full size. The technique is simple:

Beginners mastering this technique are recommended to give preference to large beads. Such products look more impressive. Only suitable for stringing on wire opaque round beads. When choosing a wire, it is better to use a special one with insulating coating. If it is not possible to purchase such material, then, not because of the risk of oxidation, the product is not replaced with aluminum or copper wire.

Ladybug earrings and brooches

Making jewelry requires the needlewoman to have some experience in working with beads, accuracy and patience. Ladybug can be made using hand weaving. To do this, collect the first row by simply stringing the required number of beads. In the second row each new bead lies above the bead of the first row. It is attached with a loop that passes through the bead of the first row and enters the adjacent bead of the same row. Then another bead is strung for the second row and a new loop is made. If it is necessary to expand or narrow the product, then instead of one, two beads are added, or one of the outer beads remains uncovered at the top.

To make a large item, such as a brooch, the “mesh” technique is often used. To do this, the central row is dialed first. The fishing line is folded in half and 1 bead is placed in the center. Then the set proceeds according to the principle: one bead at a time on both ends of the fishing line, 1 bead on both ends. When the required length has been reached, the line is divided and each end is worked separately. Collect 1 bead and insert it into the nearest protruding bead of the previous row. To obtain an even pattern, it is recommended to weave from high-quality beads and according to a pre-designed pattern. Using the same principle, you need to weave the second half of the product.

Volumetric model

You can also make a three-dimensional insect using the principle of a rope using the mosaic weaving technique. To do this, string 5 to 9 beads onto a fishing line and pass through the first one again to make a ring. To weave the second row to the business end the fishing lines are strung one bead at a time and pass into every second of the previous row. Adding or excluding beads in a row helps give the insect the required shape. To add, instead of one, you need to add two beads, and in the next row, add another one between them. To narrow it, two beads from the previous row are connected.

You can weave a ladybug from beads using fishing line or wire. To work, you will need large beads of three colors: red, black and white (several pieces for the eyes). Instead of red, you can use yellow or orange beads and make not just one, but a whole bunch of cute bugs.

Beads are strung on brass or copper wire (0.3 mm cross-section), starting from the head. The body, legs and antennae are made by parallel weaving. The length of the wire is approximately 20-30 cm. You can take it shorter, but then it will be more difficult to manage. The pattern for weaving a bug is as follows.

The cut piece of wire is folded in half. One black bead is put on, after which the wire is twisted (the first tendril, the length is about 7 mm). Next, string 2 black beads for the muzzle and construct a second antennae similar to the first.

The second row of the weaving pattern is where the cow's eyes are placed. To do this, put 4 beads on one end of the wire, including white ones for the eyes. The second end is pulled across the entire row in the opposite direction. The following rows are created using a similar weaving pattern. In them it is necessary to alternate beads of different colors to form points on the wings.

The insect's legs are woven on the 4th, 6th and 8th row. 3 beads are put on one end of the wire, after which the same end of the wire is returned through 2 beads. One bead remains at the end of the foot. Similar manipulations are performed at the second end.

You can assemble the stretched body of a ladybug into a beautiful shape in the following way:

  • each end of the wire must be passed to the head behind the side zigzags,
  • pull the ends
  • hook the ends of the wire protruding from the head into the antennae,
  • twist the ends and hide them in the body.

You can make the body more convex using a ball of polymer clay or plasticine.

The pattern of weaving a cow on a fishing line is different from the wire version. Weaving begins from the end and ends on the head of the bug. To work, you will need a fishing line with a thickness of 0.35 mm and beads of various sizes. Weaving is also done in parallel with stringing beads and threading in the opposite direction.

The initial row is 2 beads, the second is 3, the subsequent ones are with an increase in the number of 1 bead on each side until the middle of the body and a corresponding decrease after that. The paws are made on 6 and 12 rows, respectively. The formation of a voluminous silhouette is carried out as we weave according to the pattern. On the 13th row there are woven antennae, and on the 15th row there are bulging eyes made of white and black beads. The diagram ends with the mouth of a bug.

In this article we will learn how to weave a ladybug from beads. This pattern will appeal to beginners, as it is very easy to learn and is woven on wire, making it easy to give the figure the desired shape. You will learn how to weave a small ladybug yourself in the master class on bead crafts below.

Such a cute bug can be made from leftover black and red beads. A ladybug can become a decorative element or a cute decoration.

How to weave a ladybug from beads in a detailed master class

To create a ladybug you will need:

  • beads No. 10 red - 60 pieces;
  • beads No. 10 black - 70-80 pieces;
  • beading wire 0.3 thick, for example Gamma;
  • wire cutters

You need to weave a ladybug using the parallel weaving technique. It will be understandable even for beginners. Our bug will be voluminous, but to achieve this effect, it is necessary to bend the rows correctly: the back - away from you, the belly - towards you.

In order for the ladybug to retain its shape, it will need to be filled with a piece of polymer clay, a bag or some other filler. The main thing is that he does not crawl between the rows.

We braid the head.

You need to start weaving an insect from the head. String 3 large black beads and 2 small beads of the same color onto the wire.

Now you have the first two rows of beads of two sizes.

Place 5 black beads on one edge of the wire, and stretch the other edge through all these beads, carefully pulling them together. This row should be placed below the first.

Mustache.

A ladybug without antennae is not a ladybug. Therefore, we need to give our bug a mustache so that it looks like a real one. Thread a small piece of wire through the second row. Now, stepping back a little, make loops on both sides of the row and twist the antennae. There is no need to make them too long. A length of about 1 centimeter will look best. Secure the free edges of the wire and put them in the third row.

Paws.

After the antennae are made, it is necessary to weave a pair of front legs for the insect. To do this, place five black beads on one end of the wire and, stepping back the last bead you have collected, pass the wire in the opposite direction. To ensure that the beads on the foot sit tightly and adhere to the body, hold them. You have one paw. Make a second one, doing the same on the other side.

We weave the body.

Now we will weave the body of the insect.

After you have woven the legs, pass both ends of the wire through the third row, which contains 5 black beads. This is the top row. Now we weave the bottom row of 9 black beads in the same way as the third.

The next row will be the top. Place 4 red beads, 1 black bead and again 4 red beads onto the wire.

Now you need to weave another legs using the same principle.

After the paws we weave the bottom row of 8 black beads. And after it the top one, consisting of 1 red bead, 1 black, 1 red, 1 black, 3 red, 1 black, 1 red, 1 black, 1 red.

The next bottom row will consist of 8 black beads. And the top of 9 beads is red.

Now weave the bottom row of 8 red beads, then the top row, collecting beads in the following sequence: 2 red beads, 1 black, 1 red, 1 black, 2 red.

Make the last bottom row of 4 black beads and the last pair of legs with 4 beads each. After the paws, make the top row of 5 red beads.

Now let's move on to weaving the final rows. In the bottom row we will collect 2 black beads, and in the top row - 1 red, 1 black, 1 red.

To secure the wires, you need to thread one end into the penultimate row and screw it into the other end. The excess wire needs to be cut off and the ends hidden inside the ladybug. Our bug is ready!

Let’s try to make a bright “Ladybug” keychain with our own hands

The ladybug can be made into a pendant and hung like a keychain. As you may have noticed, the weaving pattern for such a bug is very simple, but the result is pretty.

To make such a keychain you will need:

  • 5 grams of red beads
  • 1 gram black beads
  • carabiner for attaching key rings
  • Wire for beading with a diameter of 0.3 mm, you can use colored wire to match the beads.

To weave a ladybug as a pendant for a keychain, follow the step-by-step instructions:

Step 1. Weave the body and head of the bug according to the pattern, alternating red and black beads. Choose bright and contrasting beads to make the ladybug bright and expressive.

Step 2. Weave the left wing according to the pattern.

Step 3. Weave the right one in the same way according to the pattern.

Step 4: Attach the wings to the beetle's body.

Step 5. Attach a carabiner to the keychain.

Now you have a bright ladybug that will always cheer you up.
