Birthday

The year of the rooster is coming soon. See how to sew a costume for this bird for a matinee, and make paper crafts to take to kindergarten.

How to sew a rooster costume?

This outfit can be made from paper or fabric; in the latter case, it will be more durable. Typically, this character's attire consists of the following:
  • hats with a comb and beak;
  • wings;
  • panties;
  • tail;
  • boot or other suitable footwear.

Let's start with the headdress, before sewing the rooster costume, let's create this thing. To make such a hat, take:
  • light and red felt;
  • scissors;
  • paper;
  • pencil;
  • thread with a needle.
The rooster's cap consists of 6 identical wedges. To find out their exact size, measure the circumference of the child's head, divide the result by 6, add 2 cm - these are seam allowances.

Take two such parts, match them right sides together, and sew along the edge on one side. Why in the sidewall of the second clinic, sew one sidewall of the third. For now, set this blank of 3 wedges aside. Connect the remaining three pieces in the same way.

Redraw the following pattern, attach it to the felt, cut out a comb from the fabric. Gather it at the bottom with a thread, first stitching here with a basting stitch.

Fold the parts in the following sequence: place the gathered side of the comb on the front side of the workpiece of three wedges, cover it on top with the second workpiece of 3 wedges, so that the face is inside and the back is outside. Sew along the edge.

If you don't have a suitable shirt, then you can quickly sew one based on the provided pattern. It is loose-fitting, so it will fit the child well in any case. On the left is the pattern of the shelf, on the right is the back.

Please note that the back and shelf will be one-piece. To cut them out, fold the fabric in half lengthwise, matching the fold of the front and back with the fold of the fabric.

Match the front and back by placing them right sides together. Sew these parts together on the shoulder, on the sleeves, and on the sides. Roll up the sleeves and hem them. Step back 10 cm from the bottom of the sleeves and sew a thin elastic band here on the inside with a zigzag, stretching it. The length of the elastic should be 1 cm greater than the volume of the child’s hands. Process the neck line.

When talking about how to sew a rooster costume, it should be noted that the shirtfront can be made of paper or fabric. Sew this piece at the front under the neckline.

The shorts also have a loose fit. Transfer the pattern onto newspaper and cut it out. Place this paper template on the fabric. From it you need to cut 2 back parts and 2 front parts. Stitch them in the middle and on the sides. Hem the bottom and top. Insert pieces of elastic bands here.

There is one more important detail of the character, which we will dwell on in more detail.

How to make a beautiful tail?

This is what you will need:

  • fabric of different colors;
  • interlining;
  • scissors;
  • pins;
  • wooden sticks;
  • Velcro tape.
From fabric of different colors, cut out these semicircular parts; for each feather you will need two identical ones.

Non-woven fabrics are also required.

Let's start with the first feather. Place the 2 fabric pieces right sides together. Pin the interlining from the inside out.

Sew the workpiece from the inside out along the edges, leaving the small bottom side free.

To prevent the stitching from unraveling, first make a small stitch forward, then back, then forward again. Finish the line the same way.

Cut off the sharp corner on the reverse side to make the feather look neater.

Do the rest of the details in the same way. Look, the outer feathers are small, slightly rounded. Big straight ones.

Turn them onto your face and press the seams.

Divide the tail into two identical parts; let’s shape the first half first. On the largest feather, place the same large one, which is the second in size. Pin and stitch, not forgetting to secure the stitch at the beginning and end.

In the same way, attach a slightly smaller, third largest feather to the second one.

Sew the last fourth from the edge. Use the same technique to decorate the second half of the tail.

Place the first one on the second piece and stitch them together. The width of the stitch should be such that a wooden stick can be inserted into one and the second formed drawstring. This will make the structure more rigid and help give it the desired shape.

Here's how to make a beautiful ponytail next. Sew up the holes on your hands to prevent the wooden sticks from falling out.

Cut out a belt from Velcro; if you want, you can sew a edging to it on both long sides.

Using several lines along and across the tail, sew the feathers to the belt.

This belt is suitable for children of different ages and different builds. Its volume can be adjusted. The belt will fit tightly to the suit due to the Velcro hooks.

But the rooster costume is not completed yet, see how to make wings at home. They can be made of fabric or paper. There are many manufacturing options, look at a few of the simplest ones.

How to make wings at home?

When you sew a shirt for the cockerel, cut a long strip from a fabric of a different color and cut it in a zigzag pattern on one side. When you begin to sew up the sleeve from the bottom, place this detail here and stitch everything together.

Here's another easy option. For this you need to prepare:
  • fabric in four colors;
  • threads;
  • semicircle pattern;
  • braid.
For one wing, 4 blanks are needed, each is a quarter of a circle of different sizes. To make an even wavy bottom, apply a template to the coils and cut along it.

Now let’s learn more about how to make wings with your own hands.

Let's start with the first option. Fold 4 blanks for it, arranging them according to size. Tuck them in at one end and let them expire. Then do the same on the other side. You can not tuck it, but trim it with braid. It needs to be sewn at the top on one side and the other in the form of large loops. This is where the child will stick his hands, putting on the wings of a rooster. To keep them tight, sew a tie on the front and secure it like a cape.

From the same braid, make loops for the sleeves; the child will wear the lower part of the wings on his wrist. See how else you can design them.

Sew a cape. It will be worn on the wrist using ribbons. Cut long strips of fabric of different colors, gather each one with a basting stitch, and sew to the cloak, starting from the bottom.

There is another interesting idea that will tell you how to sew wings. Also cut the ribbons, having previously gathered them, into sleeves. When the child raises his arms, they will look like wings.

You can make them quickly by cutting a circle out of fabric or wrapping paper. Let the child extend his arms in opposite directions. Measure the distance between the hands in this position, this is the radius of the circle. Cut its edges with a zigzag, cut out the neck so that the child can put on the wings of a rooster.

It’s good if the child comes to the matinee with a gift for the teacher. Make a fiery rooster with him, which is a symbol of the coming year. The results are amazing and require so little.

How to make a Fire Rooster craft from threads?

To reproduce this you will need:
  • red and white threads;
  • tweezers;
  • scissors;
  • "Titan" - adhesive for ceiling tiles;
  • drawing of a cockerel made on a printer;
  • scotch.
Cover the drawing with tape. Pour the glue into a small bottle with a spout, apply it to the outline of the animal’s chest, using tweezers to help you, place a piece of red thread on top.

Using the same technique, lay out the next turns, forming the body and head of the bird.

Next, make embossed feathers, lay a white thread inside several, and also attach them with glue.

To make the craft even more chic, you can glue matching glass pebbles to the ends of the feathers.

Having completed the first wing, move on to the second.

All that remains is to design the rooster's tail. To do this, also first glue the thread along the contour, then fill the inner space of the openwork wings.

Leave the Fire Rooster craft to dry for 24 hours, then carefully remove it from the base. You will see dried drops of glue peeking through. Remove them with a soldering iron, but you need to act carefully so that there is no blackness due to burnt glue. The work is completed, you can frame it and give it as a gift or hang it on the wall and wait for the holiday.

Paper rooster craft

If a rooster made of threads turns out to be difficult for children to reproduce, then advise them on simpler crafts. Such funny roosters are made quickly, for this you need to take:

  • colored paper;
  • glue;
  • scissors;
  • markers.

On a piece of colored paper, draw a triangle with a semicircular bottom. Roll it into a cone and seal the side. Cut narrow strips of paper; each bird will need 2. Fold these blanks like an accordion, and glue paws with three fingers, cut from colored paper, to one edge of the strip. Attach the legs into place.

Cut out round eyes, a beak, and glue these elements. All that remains is to make the tail and wings. Take a closer look at the process of this work.

Cut strips of colored paper, connect the ends of each, and glue them in this place. All that remains is to glue these improvised feathers to the bird. The shorter stripes will become its wings, the longer stripes will become its tail.

And here is another option for making such a bird, a paper rooster template is attached.

Enlarge it, redraw it on a white sheet attached to the monitor. Place it on colored paper folded in half and cut it out.

You will also need to draw a comb and a rooster's beard on red paper, and a beak on orange paper.

You can use store-bought eyes for toys or make them from colored cardboard and glue them to the face, like the rest of the head parts.

Attach a large paper clip to the lower part of the body, fasten this area to the neck, you will get this wonderful bird.

Using the same technique, you can make a girlfriend for our hero - a chicken. Very young children will make an application on the same theme.

As you can see, the body of the rooster consists of a large triangle, and the wing of a small one. The tail is created from almost the same geometric shapes. The baby will only have to cut out and glue on the bird’s comb, beard, eye and paws.

If you need to quickly make a carnival rooster costume, paper will also help. Mark the volume of the child's head, cut a strip from a white sheet according to this size, but with a small margin to glue its ends to the side. Glue the second paper tape onto the first one, perpendicular to it. Cut out a comb from red construction paper and attach it to the top of the mask. Make a beard from the same paper, and a rooster's beak from yellow paper.

After which you can put this headdress on the child and send him to the holiday.

The body of a rooster can be made in an unusual way. Let the child place his palm on a piece of paper and circle it. Using this template, the child, together with the senior assistant, will cut out many blanks from paper of various colors. Then he will need to cut out the head of a bird from the light one, other details of the face from red and yellow, and make an eye from white and black.

Having glued the head with all the details on one side of the sheet, let him attach the palms of colored paper with glue. You need to start from the tail, gradually moving towards the neck so that these blanks are overlapped in relation to each other. All that remains is to glue the paws cut out of brown paper, and the applique is ready.

Here's how you can make a rooster costume for kindergarten, make a craft for the New Year and bring it here. If you want to see the costume making process, then turn on the video player. We offer you a master class from which you will learn how to make a mask of this bird from foam rubber.

Kids will be interested in learning how to make a rooster out of paper, especially since someone almost their age is talking about it. Parents read about the manufacturing process in this article.

There is less and less time left before the New Year holidays, and preparations for them are proceeding at a rapid pace, and it’s worth thinking about a New Year’s costume for your child in advance.

As a rule, on the eve of the New Year, kindergartens hold matinees. Schools also organize events to mark this beloved holiday. At such events, children have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, prepare dance routines, and learn songs and poems.

Every child participating in the New Year's performance wants to show off their talent and distinguish themselves with a creative outfit. Moms and dads are excitedly awaiting the distribution of roles in children's New Year's performances. All parents want to see their child in one of the leading roles; they hope that teachers or educators will notice his talent and openness while performing on stage.

But having received the coveted role, it is not enough just to learn the words; you also need to come up with a suitable costume. This is already a task for parents. Some schools and preschools have their own costumes for theatrical performances, but this is very rare; In most cases, you have to make the costume yourself.

Usually children are given only masks, but this is not always enough to create a colorful and memorable character. All children want to look smart at a party and surprise their friends with a bright, recognizable costume.

You can, of course, buy a costume in a store, but New Year's carnival outfits are not cheap, and more often than not it is an unjustified waste, because the clothes will most likely no longer be useful. In addition, carnival outfits are not ordinary clothes that are available in every store; you still have to look for a New Year’s costume, plus you may not be able to guess the size.

Another option is to rent a suit, but such a solution will require considerable expenses, and given how relevant such suits will be, they will quickly be sold out.

It is much more practical to make a costume for a child for the New Year's party with your own hands.

The symbol of the coming 2017 will be the Fire Rooster. This New Year, the Rooster costume is the most relevant. This poultry has bright plumage, so the carnival costume should be colorful.

The rooster is the hero of many fairy tales; he stands out from other characters with his brightness; take this into account when creating a costume for your child.

Preparation

By creating a New Year's costume for a child with your own hands, you can try on the role of a fashion designer. In order to make a carnival outfit, you do not need to be a professional seamstress, just basic sewing skills and imagination. The instructions will help you quickly complete the task. A creative approach is encouraged in this matter.

Before you start creating a New Year's rooster costume, you need to decide on its elements.

So, the rooster’s outfit includes:

  • torso;
  • headdress decorated with a comb;
  • wings with eye-catching feathers;
  • legs;
  • bright tail.

All details must be in harmony with each other and hold firmly.

Advice. Think through every detail of the carnival costume so that you don’t have to redo it later.

The funny cockerel costume is ideal for kids. You can go the simple route (if the child is small, a plausible outfit is not so important): put on the child a sunny yellow T-shirt (you can also use a white one) and red or green pants with suspenders.

Advice. Choose things that match the color palette of the rooster, preferably plain ones, so that you can decorate them with scraps later. Yellow, soft green, and orange colors are welcome. The top should be bright and the bottom darker.

The bright top will be balanced by brown pants. The look needs to be complemented with details such as a comb (make sure it is securely fastened so that the part does not fall off at the wrong moment) or a beak sewn to the cap.

Don't forget about the catchy collar and matching cuffs. Glitter will help you create a New Year's ambiance: at the final stage, you decorate your outfit with it.

If you need a costume for an older child, you will need a pattern and multi-colored material, fittings and appropriate accessories.

The choice of fabric and other materials is very important. As already noted, the rooster is a bright bird with a beautiful crest, an elegant tail and a confident gait. The Rooster feels like a king, his shades are, first of all, red, sunny yellow, emerald and blue (remember the reflections in the tail).

The Year of the Fire Rooster is coming, and taking this into account, the material for sewing the New Year's rooster costume should be chosen in a rich, bright color scheme.

Advice: choose breathable fabric to prevent your child from sweating. It’s ideal if you can find nylon fabric: it’s easy to cut, and there are plenty of color options for this material.

Creating a New Year's outfit

In a few simple steps you can create a bright image for your child.

  1. You should start with the headdress. As a headdress, you can use a hat made in the form of a comb (it is not difficult to make according to patterns - first cut it out and then sew two parts, attach a gathered comb on top).

    The comb can also be made voluminous: cut out two blanks from scarlet fabric and fill them with foam rubber. A voluminous comb can be attached to a bandana or a regular hat. If time is short, the headdress can be replaced with a rooster mask.

  2. The second option is a little more difficult; it consists in making the top of the outfit in one piece - and connecting the hood with the cape. The cape is needed to recreate the imitation of bird wings. Sew a comb into the seam of the hood, which is located inside, and add eyes and a beak to it.

    To make the eyes, use scissors to cut out an oval blank from white material, and sew a small black circle on top. Use beads or iridescent threads as a finishing touch. The beak can also be made from fabric (in the central part, attach a triangle filled with foam rubber or other filler with thread and a needle).

    Important! To make the beak, you should use red, orange or yellow fabric.

    You can also use paper as a material for the beak.

    Take thick paper (preferably cardboard) and paint it with gouache to which PVA glue has been added, and then cover it with material, preferably red, but yellow will also work. Papier-mâché for making a beak is also a good option. Sew red grooves on the sides of the headdress (they can also be filled with padding polyester or left as is - flat).

  3. It is recommended to make the main part of the outfit, the shirt, by analogy with a bat. To do this, you can use a simple blouse, decorating it with a colored collar or shirtfront. Decorate the sleeves with puffy cuffs and make teeth reminiscent of feathers (buttons are also suitable for decorating the cuffs).
  4. By tying a bright bow around your neck (it is better to use satin material), you will imitate a rooster's beard. If the T-shirt has long sleeves, or the child wears a turtleneck, make a chest by attaching a shirtfront with feathers. To do this, cut out an oval fabric blank, make teeth along the edges (to imitate feathers), sew on several colored patches cut in the form of drops.

    Choose the shirt size based on the child’s height; it should go below the chest. Perform actions consistently and do not rush.

    In the same way, you can make a luxurious cape from a large semicircular blank, attaching it to a jacket in the arm area (also decorating it with rags imitating feathers). Such a cape can be a single piece with a hood.

    If you don’t want a cape, make feathers from multi-colored material according to the template and attach them with threads in a checkerboard pattern (start from the shoulder). Sew several feathers in rows, due to this you will make the costume brighter and more magnificent.

  5. The lower part of the suit can be trousers, loose trousers or shorts. The best option is pants that are below the knee. Decorate the bottom with teeth or sew feathers like on the sleeves, so the outfit will look harmonious, and all the elements will be combined with each other.

    On a note! Feathers for the top and bottom can be made from colored ruffle flounces, leftover silk or shiny ribbons.

    If the room is not too warm, wear light-colored tights underneath.

  6. If your child wears sandals, be sure to find colorful socks (can be plain or striped). If you wish, you can also make homemade boots: make paper tops for the shoes, making cuffs and decorating them with buckles, then decorate them. To decorate the buckles, glue glitter foil to them and attach to the ribbon. It is not difficult to create an imitation of rooster legs in the form of soft, comfortable chunya, on the sole of which there are three fingers.

  7. New Year's rooster costume, photo
  8. An older child's outfit can be complemented with other original details, for example, a vest. A sash made of red satin fabric with tassels will look very impressive.

    When creating a carnival costume, remember the rooster from the famous cartoon “The Musicians of Bremen” and be guided by it in your work, try to recreate this fairy-tale character.

  9. The most important part in creating a rooster carnival costume is the tail. The tail is the pride of the rooster; when many people mention this bird, they associate it with its bright tail, so you can’t do without this element in your outfit.

Important! When creating a children's New Year's costume, you need to remember not only the attractiveness of the outfit, but also its convenience.

Remember that the child will have to perform in a costume and perform dance numbers. If your child is comfortable, he will be able to relax.

It is important that the child is not afraid of breaking any part of the costume. A wire frame for the tail is not the best option; you need to make it soft. Cut out several blanks in the form of feathers, glue their back side and insert foam rubber. Sew the blanks. Divide the feathers into two halves. Having chosen a feather that is longer than the others, attach another shorter one to it, stitch it, then on top of these two - another feather, and so on until the shortest one.

Repeat similar steps with the second part of the feathers. Connect the two feather parts by stitching the largest feathers and sewing two sticks into each at the place where they connect (to give the tail rigidity and stability).

Make a belt using Velcro and attach the tail using thread and a needle to its center.

It is better to make the tail feathers voluminous, but soft.

The tail can also be made from multi-colored satin ribbons: they will flutter beautifully.

Advice: When choosing accessories for a carnival costume, remember that you should get a single ensemble.

There are several ways to make a New Year's rooster outfit; they are all pretty simple. Working from patterns is very convenient.

Making a homemade carnival costume will not require much expense. It’s not that difficult to make a handmade New Year’s outfit: it’s a creative, interesting job.

If you have a sewing machine at home, then the task becomes much easier. The main part of the work is related to the manufacture of the main parts of the costume: shirt, headdress, wings, tail, but accessories also play an equally important role. It is the accessories that give the costume a festive look.

New Year's rooster costumes for boys, photo

New Year is a holiday that children look forward to with special impatience, so preparing and sewing a rooster costume with your own hands for a boy to perform in a kindergarten or school will be an important event for them.

When creating a New Year's costume for a child, involve him in this work: let him provide details to decorate the outfit or perform other simple tasks - this way you can spend time with the child and give him the opportunity to feel his importance. In addition, the child's participation in the process reduces the likelihood that he will not like the costume.

Using pieces of fabric, scissors and a sewing machine, you will create an original carnival rooster outfit for the New Year's party.

A carnival costume is one of the components of a child’s successful performance at the New Year’s party. Spend a little time and sew a costume for your child, in which he will become the center of attention at a children's party, please your child with a beautiful outfit.

Christmas trees are just around the corner. Choosing a children's holiday costume is always difficult for parents. I want my child to look no worse than others, but spending a lot of money on an outfit that the child will most likely wear once is not affordable.

“AiF-Volgograd” has prepared a master class that will help you create a bright New Year’s rooster costume, the symbol of the next year, with your own hands. With a competent approach to the matter, it will turn out not only beautiful and budget-friendly, but also useful: you can also involve a child in making the costume. Cutting simple parts out of fabric, stuffing blanks with holofiber - all this can be done by a kindergartener. And to put on a suit that you almost made yourself is a special pride.

Keep within 500 rubles

The maximum cost of the costume that we will make with the owner of the Sewing Cafe, Tatyana Tsibulina, is just over 500 rubles. However, you can save a lot on it if you find small pieces of fabric of the desired color at home. If you're lucky, the outfit can cost almost nothing.

Three 30-centimeter scraps of fabric are easily enough for a full-fledged costume for a child. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

We have at our disposal 30-centimeter sections (they don’t cut smaller ones in stores) of supplex in three bright colors. The cost of each fabric is 450 rubles per meter, totaling 405 rubles. I also had to spend 60 rubles on pieces of felt - red and orange. This material can be purchased at any craft store; it will be used for combs and earrings, as it holds its shape well. Felt can be replaced with other material if desired. You will also need a little holofiber or any other filler and two wide braids - one equal to the circumference of the child’s neck, the other to the waist circumference. The details of the costume - the collar and tail - will be attached to the ribbons.

“This small amount of material will make a full-fledged costume of three things - a cockerel cap, a voluminous collar and a bright tail,” says Tatyana Tsibulina.

You can sew a New Year's costume in just one evening. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

First we make the hat - the most important part of the costume. “In order for it to be just right, you need to take two measurements - head circumference and distance from ear to ear,” says Tatyana. “Our material is elastic, and therefore the pattern will consist of two identical parts that have to be sewn together.” If the cap is made of non-stretch material, you will have to make a slightly more complex pattern - a six-piece. Otherwise, it will not “sit down” on the head. The six-piece pattern is easy to find on the Internet. Even inexperienced dressmakers will find it easy to make.

In the meantime, the child can draw a beak (a triangle that will need to be folded in half) and a comb on felt and cut them out.

The child can draw and cut out the comb and beak and felt himself. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

“It seems to us that a scallop is a scallop, and children can show their imagination: what shape and height it will be,” says Tatyana. After two identical parts of the comb are stitched along the top edge (the felt can be stitched directly along the front side), the baby can stuff the comb with holofiber.

Felt can be stitched directly along the front side - this does not make it lose its aesthetics. Rooster costume Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

We attach the beak and comb to one side of the cap, then attach the other side. We add earrings and, of course, eyes - the character of the rooster will depend on them.

After all the details are ready, we assemble them on a typewriter. Rooster costume Photo: AiF / Olesya Khodunova

You can find ready-made eyes at a craft store or draw them yourself on paper. There is also a life hack from the 90s: we take empty records from under large tablets, cut out circles from them, add any black peas inside and seal them with a small piece of paper. Glue the eyes to the fabric. You can already try on the funny hat.

You can buy rooster eyes at a craft store, or you can use your imagination and make your own. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

For the tail you will need to make five multi-colored “feathers”. If desired, you can make more details, especially since this process is fascinating for a child. But first, it’s up to mom: we make patterns in the shape of wedges, slightly different in width, and let the baby cut them out. We make the same parts from holofiber. “We sew the parts along the edges together with the filling, leaving a small hole on one side to turn them inside out and get voluminous feathers,” explains Tatyana Tsibulina.

We sew the parts for the tail together with the filler. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

True, you need to get used to it: the part is narrow, and it’s not so easy to turn it out. To do this you will need a wooden stick or knitting needle. We bring it to the unstitched hole of the part and begin to turn it inside out, as if putting it on a stick. At first it may seem difficult, but once the child begins to succeed, he will feel like a real master. The filler is well distributed inside the part, and therefore it is difficult for a child to spoil it.

“It’s better to stitch the already finished “feathers” together at the base so that they don’t fall apart too much. By the way, if you wish, you can insert wire into them - this way they will keep their shape,” says the master.

It is better to fasten the tail parts together. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

We attach the finished tail to a braid belt, cut according to the circumference of the child’s waist. We cut a small loop at one end of the braid, and sew a button on the other. For these purposes, you can use a ready-made strap.

To make the tail more magnificent, you can make more parts. AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

The last detail is a drape with gathers. For it we need three strips of fabric - in our case, the same colors as the tail feathers. The first is 11 cm wide and 30 cm long - the last measurement should be greater than the width of the child's shoulders. The second is 15 cm wide and 90 cm long, the third, the lowest, is 18 cm wide and 120 cm long.

It is better to use bright colors for the outfit. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

We sew the shortest part, laying small gathers, put the next one in size under it and attach it to the first strip from edge to edge, also creating folds. We do the same with the third.

Folds must be placed on all parts of the collar. Photo: AiF/Olesya Khodunova

The resulting cape can be left as is, or you can emphasize the “feathers” by cutting the frills into strips of small width.

We attach the finished cape to the braid. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

All that remains is to sew the cape to the braid, fasten a button to the braid, make a loop, and the costume is completely ready.

Three-piece rooster costume - hat, collar and tail. Photo: AiF/ Olesya Khodunova

The outfit turned out no worse than many store-bought ones, but much more budget-friendly. And you only need to spend one evening to make it, spending, moreover, doing something useful with your child.

By the way, the costume can be used for home theatrical performances. Surely, having felt like a master, the child will want to sew someone into the company of the main symbol of the year.

The rooster is the hero of many children's fairy tales and theatrical productions. If your baby is going to play this role, you need to prepare a bright and beautiful bird outfit. We will tell you how to make a rooster costume with your own hands. If you have ever been to a village, you remember very well what a rooster looks like. It is easily recognized by its bright crest, lush plumage around its head, large fluffy tail and panties. Today we will make all these parts ourselves.

To work you need to prepare:

    Buttons;

    Gardening gloves;

    Materials of different colors;

  • Cotton wool or padding polyester;

    Golf is yellow, orange or green.

    Make a bib using the template you see below. Make the length of the product at your discretion, the main thing is that it matches the height of the baby. Ideally, the shirtfront should cover the chest, but not be too long. Transfer the pattern to the material, draw cut lines with chalk and cut out. A jagged edge reminiscent of rooster feathers would look good. After this, cut out teardrop-shaped pieces from small pieces of fabric. Sew them onto the shirtfront row by row, each next one should be slightly longer than the base of the previous one.

    Let's make rooster wings from golf sleeves. You will need a dense material from which to make serrated cuffs. The cuffs will be fastened with buttons, sew them on and make eyelets. Also, when making a rooster costume with your own hands, you can replace the fabric with cardboard or make cuffs from paper.

    Let's move on to the bottom of the suit. Cut the pants to the required length to cover the knees, making a neat jagged edge. You can sew scraps of multi-colored fabrics onto the legs. If the holiday falls during the winter season and the room is cold, dress your child in yellow or orange tights. For shoes, shoes or sandals of the appropriate color are suitable.

    You can make shoes for a boy's rooster costume with your own hands. All you need is gardening gloves, filler and glue. Fill the place for the fingers with cotton wool, try it on the child and leave space for his leg. Seal the remaining part of the glove and cut it off. The finishing touch is the laces.

    The most memorable part of the costume, which is always in sight, is the comb. It can be easily made from red material. Using scissors, cut out two identical pieces, one of the edges should be jagged. Sew the parts and stuff them with padding polyester. Sew or glue the comb to the headdress; it is better if it is a light-colored cap with ties.

    How to make a rooster tail for a children's costume? Prepare scraps of different colors and cut out a pair of similar parts. Connect them two at a time and sew them together, leaving a little space for stuffing. These are rooster feathers. Form a tail from the resulting elements and glue it to the belt. The longest element should be located in the central part.

When your DIY rooster costume using improvised materials is ready, it’s time to start trying it on! Dress up your child in ready-made socks, trousers, a shirtfront and a cap with a comb, and decorate his neck with a red scarf reminiscent of a rooster's beard. Both your child and all the guests of the holiday will love this rooster costume!

Creating children's costumes is a creative endeavor. You can experiment and come up with your own version, come up with an alternative to some part, or purchase a ready-made costume. Show your imagination and give your child joyful moments and happy holidays!
