Fashionable trends in summer clothing.

To mom

Fashion is fleeting and unpredictable. From year to year she changes her mood, sets priorities and imposes her vision of the world on us. Each new season gives us its own “top” fashion trends. What trends will be relevant in the new spring-summer season 2016?

In the new warm season, fashion designers have offered a lot of extravagant and interesting solutions. One of these is the widespread use of the grid. Designers call for creating almost all known types of clothing from mesh fabrics - sweaters, tights, tops, tunics and much more. In the conditions of the warm season, such a decision is quite understandable - having dressed in such materials, fashionistas will not complain about the heat and lack of coolness, because through the numerous holes the skin will constantly feel the blow of even the slightest gust of wind. Acne Studios, Miss Guided, Missoni, Moschino, Valentino, Tracy Reese, Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Simone Rocha, Ashley Williams, Dolce and Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta encourage people to wear mesh clothing.

Denim will be no less in demand. Denim clothing has firmly entered the hearts and minds of fashionistas, thanks to which denim has found itself in the top ten fashion trends of the season. Today it is quite difficult to imagine that denim clothing was once worn exclusively by workers, since now it is quite calmly used in almost all existing styles. Denim clothing is distinguished by its high density, hygroscopicity and wear resistance, which is why it is often used in grunge, rock, and casual looks. Thanks to the addition of elastane and lycra, it has proven itself well in office and even glamorous fashion. Denim shorts and jackets have long become classics, although in the new warm season this also includes caps. In the spring-summer season, Greg Lauren, Ashish, Peter Pilotto, Marques Almeida, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, Chloe, Alexander Wang were partial to denim.

Maximum transparency

The slight effect of nudity no longer suits designers and fashionistas. Their minds, spoiled by permissiveness, require even more daring decisions. From now on, fashionable clothes will be considered those that cover practically nothing. Maximum transparency - this is the main trend! According to most brands, fashionistas no longer need to hide their charms from others. If you have something to show, feel free to show it! If this decision turns out to be too radical for you, you can always combine transparent areas with more “modest” fabrics. Transparent fabrics are used in the design and sewing of dresses, skirts, tops, outerwear, and even bags (Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Greg Lauren, Sibling, Alberta Ferretti, Anna Sui, Arthur Arbesser, Antonio Marras, Felder Felder, Blumarine, Greg Lauren, Francesco Scognamiglio, Givenchy, Phealan, Missoni, Marques Almeida, Vionnet, Thakoon, Betsey Johnson, SiblingPhilosophy di Lorenzo Serafini).

Punk rock and grunge rock

Bold, confident ladies who are not afraid to express their rebellious character are probably familiar with styles such as grunge, punk and rock. And if previously you used them only from time to time, now you can do it almost constantly, because according to many well-known brands, in the new warm season these fashion trends will become almost fundamental. Therefore, if your dressing room contains leather items, high boots, wigs, large metal jewelry, shoes with spikes, leather jackets and other details that can be classified as these styles, feel free to use them in your everyday looks! If you don’t have such things in your wardrobe, then hurry up to buy them (Philipp Plein, KTZ, Fausto Puglisi, Betsey Johnson, Saint Laurent, VFiles, Burberry Prorsum, Pam and Gela, Louis Vuitton).

Nowadays, it is difficult to imagine such a list of fashion trends that would not include fringe. This type of finishing has been incredibly popular for many years in a row, and the warm season of 2016 was no exception. Flying fringe of various lengths and colors can be found on bags, dresses, skirts, tunics, sweaters, shoes, and outerwear. Fringe has become the highlight of the collections of the following designers: Altuzarra, Chloe, Emilio Pucci, Diane von Furstenberg, Dion Lee, Barbara Bui, Veronique Branquinho, Alberta Ferretti, MSGM, Edun, Elie Tahari, Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Alexander Wang.

Frills, folds, ruffles, puff sleeves

If previously excessive decor was considered a sign of bad taste, these days it no longer surprises anyone. On the contrary, designers in every possible way promote all kinds of frills, ruffles, folds, pleating, puffed sleeves, false bows, jabots, etc. Things decorated in this way instantly take us back to the Victorian era, to a time when all these image details were at the height of popularity. So, Jason Wu, Dries van Noten, A Detacher, 1205, Stella Jean, Manish Arora, Roksanda, Sibling offered to plunge into the 19th century.

Asymmetrical cut lines have not left the catwalks either. They were also included in the top ten hottest trends for the warm season. Therefore, do not rush to part with romantic and feminine mullet dresses, one-shoulder blouses, disproportionate shirts, skirts and blouses. If in your closet there is at least one thing with asymmetrical cut lines, cutouts, patterns, then you can automatically consider yourself an accomplished fashionista. Costume National, Aquilano, Chloe, Marques Almeida, Jang Li, 1205, Martin Grant, Jill Stuart, Guy Laroche, Jacquemus showed exactly how fashionable asymmetrical items should look in the spring-summer season.

Fabrics with glitter

According to fashion trendsetters, the more sparkle you add to your spring/summer look, the better! To this end, designers have released entire series of clothes that shine in the sun. To produce such things, a variety of fabrics can be used - from latex to satin. In addition, to achieve this effect, brands used not only fabrics, but also decor - sequins, artificial mirror plates, metal fittings, glitter, etc. The main thing is that the onion ultimately sparkles and sparkles, pleasing the eye with its metallic tints. Looking through such clothes, one involuntarily recalls the notorious and rebellious disco style, which is characterized by brilliant images. However, modern shiny clothes still look calmer - the vast majority of brands used silver, gold and other natural metallic colors. Screaming acid tones were not used. Examples of such images can be seen in the collections of Lacoste, Tibi, Blumarine, Gareth Pugh, Iceberg, Loewe, Parsons MFA, Philipp Plein, Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Esteban Cortazar, Felder Felder, Karen Walker, Les Copains, Tracy Reese, Vanessa Seward.

As you know, fashion designers are very fond of all kinds of prints and patterns. In the new warm season, geometry, in particular stripes, has become the undisputed leader. Striped patterns can vary in thickness, spatial orientation, tonality and clarity. They can decorate both classic business suits and casual outerwear items. Some brands have decided to combine stripes with other fashionable prints. Striped items were suggested to be worn by Damir Doma, Alexander Wang, Stella Jean, Prada, Mara Hoffman, Marc Jacobs, Emporio Armani, Elie Saab.

Another top trend will be all kinds of embroidery with appliques, which can decorate a wide variety of fabrics and wardrobe items. For example, Gucci and Marc Jacobs decorated leather biker jackets and brutal jeans with embroidery, Blumarine and Dolce and Gabbana - raincoats and jackets, Emilio Pucci, Emporio Armani, Tommy Hilfiger and Manish Arora - sweaters and sweaters. You can improvise on this topic endlessly. If you like a floral theme, use all kinds of inflorescences and petals; if you like animal motifs, you can depict any animal you like on your clothes. In addition, the clothes were covered with overhead airplanes, road signs, geometric shapes, inscriptions, stars, shells and much more.

The 2016 spring-summer collections demonstrated the imagination of designers who sought, each in their own way, to surprise the public. Militta decided to collect in this publication all the main fashion trends of spring-summer 2016, so that it would be easier for you to decide what to buy in the new season, and which items from past collections will remain relevant.

There were literally competitions on the catwalk - designers with revolutionary, sometimes even fantastic, ideas opposed the classics, and some of them tried to turn back history by turning to the style of the common people of medieval feudal Europe. Which of them won or, more precisely, will win? Most likely, you and I will answer this question, because the choice of certain trends depends on us.

Militta looked through many collections and came to the conclusion:

One of the main trends for spring-summer 2016 is nudity. Summer is the time when you want to throw off everything unnecessary. Some designers offer explicit nudity, while others opt for modesty, femininity and charm.

The spring-summer 2016 collections demonstrated the desire of designers to emphasize bare shoulders.

1. Bare shoulders – summer 2016

Revealing your beautiful shoulders is a rather feminine move. To do this, you can wear a bustier dress, which has been offered by designers for more than one season. Or lower the neckline low enough, exposing the shoulders almost to the armhole, while maintaining sleeves or sleeves in the form of frills, flounces, “wings”, etc.

You can demonstrate the beauty of the shoulders differently, more modestly - by making cutouts on the shoulders, leaving in this case a not deep neckline. This exposure of the shoulders is not the first season, but every girl and many women can afford it.

2. V-neckline

The V-shaped deep neckline in the spring-summer 2016 collections sometimes reaches the waistline. The dizzying neckline magically attracts the eye and gives no chance of going unnoticed.

3. Sheer chiffon skirts

The erotic component of the outfits were transparent skirts, rustling and fluttering trains made of transparent chiffon and organza. It looks especially luxurious when one skirt is layered over another or worn over trousers, etc.

4. Grid

How else to attract attention? Shoulder-baring plunging or waist-length necklines, slits on skirts, the transparency of weightless fabrics or the daring look of exposed skin?

Or maybe attract attention with a bold cut or entangle yourself in frills from head to toe? It turns out there is also a network. A translucent mesh leaves room for imagination, and one like Balmain’s is mesmerizing and eye-catching. Olivier Rousteing is truly a wizard in the field of weaves, including mesh.

5. Frills, frills...

Romantic details - frills, ruffles, flounces - take a serious position in the spring-summer 2016 season, and are able to withstand outright nudity.

Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors

6. Many of the designers’ proposals are inspired by memories of the 90s...

The 90s will be remembered for a long time, especially in Russia. The designers decided to remember differently. These are wrinkled fabrics, “boiled” patterns on fabric, mesh, frayed biker jackets, long sleeves (sleeves longer than the arms), punk and grunge style, military and biker style, animal print...

7. Futurism and Silver Glitter

The color of cold metal or noble silver, the strength of stainless titanium and the eternal value of silver are combined in the outfits of the warm season 2016.

Genny, Philipp Plein

8. Asymmetry and layering

Asymmetry and multi-layered fabrics of different textures, overlapping fabrics - this has already happened, but designers strive in their fantasies even further and create outfits with an unfinished cut, from which some models look like a “guest from the past.”

Looking at them, you can’t help but think that you can even master such a cut together with a friend. Militta suggests looking at the models of those designers who, even in asymmetry and incompleteness, leave us the opportunity to be elegant.

9. Blazers and cardigans

In spring there will be a huge selection of jackets and jackets. In addition to the men's jacket, in the 2016 season the spencer jacket takes pride of place, a jacket without a collar looks light and feminine, jackets and jackets with a belt look strict and businesslike, and of course, a classic jacket.

Demonstrated their versatility. They looked equally good with pencil skirts, pipe trousers, cropped wide-leg trousers, straight-leg trousers and a very summery cheerful look with short shorts.

10. Pajama and lingerie style

Once upon a time in Soviet times, they liked to remember half-truths and half-anecdotes about the inability of the wives of Russian officers to distinguish an evening dress from a luxurious negligee. And now European designers have found it possible to appear on the street in beautiful lingerie. Everything changes…

11. Embroidery and applique

Bright floral appliqués and embroidery flirt with delicate shades of light fabrics - silk, lace, tulle, muslin, crepe chiffon... and sometimes narrative embroidery is performed.

Alice Olivia, Dennis Basso

12. Ribbons

Ribbons are tied and fluttered. Where? - Everywhere. - In the form of bows and bows, in front and behind, they fly in front of us and behind us, long, long and not so long. Most importantly, they require attention and should not be forgotten, especially in public transport, and in your personal car too.

13. Merger of Europe and Asia

Sparkling with colors, the richness of ideas of the usual traditional clothing of nomads is based on the fusion of fashion of European, Asian and African cultures - transparent chiffon over Afghan harem pants, a hijab and a train. Mexican, Japanese, African and Asian motifs can be heard in the fashion melody.

14. Print – wildflowers

15. Print – Stripe

The stripe is present in many outfits, but now it is directed at different angles, and the width is rapidly increasing.

16. Palette for the 2016 season

What color should be called the most important color of the spring-summer season? Summer is the time for vacations and, therefore, the most carefree and fun time of the year. To feel the brightness of sensations and emotions, all bright colors will undoubtedly be relevant in the new season.

Choose a color that gives you the most sympathy, a feeling of joy, that you want to look at and look at. So he's yours. However, after viewing the collections, Militta notes that in addition to bright and cheerful shades, in the 2016 season, white, green, red, blue, yellow and silver proudly parade on the catwalk.

Black and black-and-white combinations do not look boring at all, but even impressive and elegant, and in a variety of proportions and geometric shapes. Red is a symbol of bright, rich life, courage and eroticism. If you want to be the center of attention, then wear a red outfit. Combinations of white with red or blue, and sometimes all three colors evoke special sensations and emotions, and sometimes a sense of pride...

Through clothes we communicate to others some information about ourselves. And he hopes that each of you will choose those models that will correspond to the richness of your inner content and emphasize your external virtues and beauty.

Along with office fashion, informal, there is street fashion, which is no less important, because it is on the street that you meet hundreds of people, which means you need to look amazing here too.

Every person wants to look fashionable, because it gives self-confidence and high spirits. Have you noticed how your mood changes when you think you look amazing? Of course, you need to look chic everywhere and always. It is a mistake to think that perfectly matched boots and a bag will look great, and there is nothing else to pay attention to. It is important to choose your outerwear accurately and think about how these clothes will look without shoes. In a word, real fashionistas never get bored, choosing new looks and inventing outfits for themselves. Along with office fashion, informal, there is street fashion, which is no less important, because it is on the street that you meet hundreds of people, which means you need to look amazing here too.

This may be big news for some, but street fashion is a whole trend in fashion that receives due attention. These are the clothes we wear every day on the streets. But what does street fashion have in store for us in 2016?

General trends in street fashion spring-summer 2016

It’s worth saying right away that spring-summer 2016 will be held under the style of minimalism, which in fashion circles means conciseness and restraint. Many fashion designers completely abandon the usual pomposity. There are no more excesses, bright tinsel and saturation in fashion. The main thing in fashion this season is perfect taste, style and not being flashy.

Fashion for teenagers is no exception here; young people should also abandon their usual clothes, which attract attention with their brightness; from now on, restraint in looks will serve as a sign of good taste.

Minimalism has no strict boundaries. The main thing is that you need to stick to choosing high-quality items with a simple cut. But no one canceled the finishing. Do you want rhinestones? Please? Do you want to show off in clothes with embroidery? No restrictions. Flounces, floral prints, lace - all this is still in fashion, which means there is still room for creativity!

Trouser fashion

One of the components of street fashion is “bottom” clothing, in this case, we want to talk about trousers, especially since the spring-summer 2016 season declares this item of clothing extremely attractive. Pants can be anything, be it:

  • Capri
  • Bermuda
  • Classic options
  • Palazzo

The main thing when choosing trousers is to emphasize the advantages of your figure and leave the trousers comfortable. The rich color of the trousers is what you need. This season, red styles take the lead. Despite the minimalism, trousers may have rhinestones and embroidery. The cut of jeans is quite popular this season.

Tops in street fashion spring-summer 2016

Tops are coming back into fashion, and this is exactly the case when you don’t need to be embarrassed about exposing some parts of your body. Feel free to declare with your appearance: this look is on trend. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what type of figure you have. For those who want to reveal their body, we suggest adopting high-waisted trousers. This is both fashionable and does not diminish confidence. Fashion for teenagers, on the contrary, dictates wearing low-waisted bottoms.

Dresses for spring-summer 2016

Any girl is interested in the question: what kind of dresses are in fashion? And this is not without reason. After all, nothing emphasizes the tenderness and sophistication of a woman like a dress. Moreover, in the street fashion of the spring-summer 2016 season, you can experiment and choose different dresses, from classic ones to sundresses.

  • Jeans
  • Calico

The trend is for models sewn in the safari style, as well as knitted dresses that can be complemented with sports paraphernalia.

Street fashion for the spring-summer 2016 season suggests that it is stylish to wear dresses with a straight silhouette. Simple shapes are in fashion. The preferred length is below the knee, knee-length, as well as mini and maxi dresses. Experts say that it is important to emphasize the advantages of the figure, and not to follow a certain length. You can also see drapery on this season’s models, which looks spectacular, making the image more feminine and romantic.

Fashion dictates that dresses with geometric prints will look stylish and in keeping with the theme, as well as fashionable dresses with stripes, squares, diamonds, flowers and patterns.

Don't forget about drawings with animals. Dresses with cartoon characters are especially popular. A woman’s waist is under close attention; this season fashion designers want to emphasize its grace with the help of corsets and belts.

I was surprised by the street fashion in Paris, which presented models of mini dresses combined with sneakers. Even if this mix seems crazy to someone, we hasten to dispel doubts: it’s a stylish and original combination. It is quite appropriate to wear a short dress, yellow boots and socks.

Let's reveal the secret of the upcoming 2017 season: mini dresses are rushing to replace models with a loose cut. In appearance it will resemble a bag with existing holes for the head and arms.

Model show

Everyone knows that fashion shows are exactly what allow people to know about fashion trends. Street fashion presented its shows, from here it became clear that no one canceled bold outfits, especially those that have an asymmetrical appearance. Originality should remain the strong point of street fashion, this is what fashion designers are talking about with all their might. Memorable images came to us from last season.

In fashion are different-level hemlines, models that have a non-standard neckline and sleeves. One sleeve and one-shoulder dresses are the peak of popularity of the spring-summer 2016 season. The leader of the season is things made of transparent fabric. Some brands can already boast of such things, these include the following brands:

  • Valentino
  • Alberta Ferretti
  • John Galliano and others

Stylists say that these are models for those who want to attract all the attention around them. But aerobatics means putting on such models without using underwear. Perhaps only very brave fashionistas will take such an adventure.

Street fashion this season surprises its fans. Pleated fabrics are on trend. True, it is better to use such fabric for everyday outfits. It is ideal if such things are combined with bright accessories.

Colored leather has appeared in models of many brands. And in fact, such things look very advantageous, giving the look expensiveness, audacity and sex appeal.

Interest in perforated dresses will also please you. Moreover, they will be of various color shades. And there are no restrictions on the form.

It may sometimes seem that fashion has gone crazy, but you can’t argue with designers, they say that nighties should become a new trend. Street fashion suggests wearing nightie-type dresses, silk, knitwear, lace, deep necklines - all this is welcome. To the delight of men, perhaps, this is how these bows can be described.

Fashion is in the details

It is important to pay attention to seemingly insignificant details that create the entire image. Street fashion welcomes the presence of bows on clothes. Moreover, fashion for teenagers is moving in the same direction. This will allow you to create a gentle and girlish look. Bows on skirts, blouses, and dresses will become a noticeable and stylish detail.

Flounces are also in trend; they can be used to decorate any details in clothing. On dresses, flounces look especially elegant, no matter long or short.

Gorgeous lace continues the line of tenderness and femininity; it can be used on both skirts and blouses.

Space for imagination opens up for those who love deep necklines. It will look trendy on dresses and sweaters. In addition, this will also perfectly emphasize female fragility, sophistication, and at the same time sexuality.

Spring-summer 2016 takes us back to the nineties, when denim jackets, short-cut velvet dresses, transparent shirts, and shiny things were in fashion. All this will look extremely stylish.

For the evening, an excellent option would be square jackets, which are not feminine; on the contrary, they have rough shapes. Despite their lightness, they will definitely save you from the evening chill.

These are jackets of the correct geometric shape; a straight skirt and banana trousers will look ideal with them.

Street fashion evokes lightness with Latin style. Bright outfits, flounces, light fabrics - this is all that is so typical of the spring-summer 2016 season. These outfits are evidence of this.

Fashionable shoes for the season

Fashion is not only clothes, but also shoes, it is important that they fit perfectly with your look. Street fashion dictates that elegant and unusual models will be fashionable. Shoes that have:

  • Rhinestones
  • Lace
  • Transparent elements
  • Beads

It is preferable to choose shoes in red, black or gold. Teen fashion is no exception. Shoes with wide heels, solid soles, and platforms will look stylish. We can't forget about sneakers. Elegant stiletto heels and flip-flop sandals are also in fashion.

Bags are the main accessory

Every fashionista knows that if her outfit lacks brightness and calm tones predominate, then she needs to get out of the situation with the help of accessories. Along with earrings, necklaces and bracelets, bags will look great. But what kind of bags are fashionable to wear this season? You shouldn’t expect anything completely different from the previous season; nevertheless, spring-summer bags are quite original, but in addition, they are also practical. Backpacks are still at the peak of fashion, as are products that have a belt. So, the most fashionable options for bags will be:

Bags of unusual geometry

Clutches and shoulder options

Classic options, retro style

Bucket bags made of rubber, decorated with leather, floral elements, prints

Bags that have fringes

And what’s most interesting is that it’s fashionable to carry several bags at once. For example, it could be a fringed bag and a backpack, which is quite a practical solution.

A little more about street fashion spring-summer 2016

Of course, it is simply impossible to talk about all fashion trends, because each brand offers its own solutions, exhibits interesting collections, although adhering to the same fashion trend. Fashion for teenagers, like fashion for adults, is how a person feels at the moment. Fashion trends are just a vector in the world of fantasy and experimentation.

For example, designers say that in the spring-summer 2016 season, maxi dresses will be fashionable, both with short and long sleeves, in any colors and shapes. Fashion networks offer a special “openness”. This look option will easily share first place in terms of frankness with shirt dresses. Despite the fact that many consider such seine dresses to be a beach option, fashion designers claim that such a look will cause delight on city streets.

You can't do without a marine theme. This eternal theme is also fashionable in the spring-summer season. Striped items evoke lightness and give an atmosphere of relaxation. Blue-white or black-white stripes - it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to buy such a striped thing. Continuing the summer theme – bare shoulders. It doesn’t matter whether it’s casual wear or an evening outfit – open shoulders will be on everything.

We can talk about fashion forever; this capricious lady changes almost every day. But whether to follow it or not is entirely up to you...

Four weeks of Fashion Month are finally over. Designers from New York, London, Milan and Paris showed their collections for the spring/summer 2016 season. We at Fancy Journal closely followed what was happening and told you what distinguished each of the fashion capitals. Now is the time to sum up and highlight the main trends of the spring/summer 2016 season. The Victorian era, retrofuturism, lingerie style and much more, which you definitely can’t do without next spring, are in our selection.

Main trends spring/summer 2016: choosing the best

Open shoulders

The trend set by American designers in New York was picked up by colleagues from London, Milan and Paris. Dropped and cropped shoulders, asymmetrical neckline, one-shoulder tops and dresses - fashion houses have once again taken a course towards sensuality and discreet sexuality. Given the growing popularity of gender ambivalence, this is especially gratifying.

White shirt

Gone are the days when a strict white shirt was associated with office style. When composing collections for the coming season, designers - from Karl Lagerfeld to Vera Wang and Phillip Lim - seem to have specifically set out to turn this basic wardrobe element into something literally the opposite. The end result was anything but an office classic. Blouses with puffy sleeves and with slits and cutouts in unexpected places, and with them shirts with round hypertrophied shoulders and long sleeves, like Pierrot’s, are unlikely to meet with approval from the bosses, who don’t care about the trends of the next season.

Linen style

Silk and satin socks, sports bras, leather underwear and nighties worn over blouses and tops - underwear elements have finally become part of the everyday and even evening wardrobe. Pajamas from the 1920s have replaced spaghetti strap dresses from the 1960s, bras worn over sheer tops, slips from the 1990s and, of course, the lace slippers that made so much noise.

Abundance of decor

An eclectic combination of materials of different textures (leather and lace, tweed and transparent mesh, cotton and suede) mixed with metal sequins on sculptural fabrics, with op-art prints and 3D effects - it seems that the designers decided to play it safe and use all the techniques they knew. straightaway.

Pleating

This has never happened before and here it is again. Pleating and ruffles have been on the runways for what seems like forever. In fact, only a couple of years, but this time there was almost no show of the spring/summer 2016 collections without dresses reminiscent of Ancient Greece, metal lamé and “crumpled” chiffon.

Frill

Girlishly flirtatious, dramatic and sculptural and in the spirit of Victorian Gothic - even those designers from whom such “romanticism” could not be expected chose frills as the main element of decor. Next spring they are becoming more varied, but this does not prevent you from fitting them into your everyday wardrobe.

Metallic shine

Cocktail dresses, mini and midi skirts, blouses and tops, heavily decorated with sequins or even made from metallic fabric, can now be worn not only on New Year's holidays and Christmas parties. This is far from the most obvious technique for spring, which simultaneously accommodates the rock and roll aesthetics of the 1970s and the fascination with retro-futurism of the 1960s, one of the main trends of the spring/summer 2016 season.

Strip

The classic print, which is invariably included in the list of “main trends of the season” year after year, will not lose its relevance in the spring of 2016. There is no general rule - horizontal and vertical, different colors and frequencies, thin, like on suits of the 90s, and bold, graphic, like on naval vests - the stripe can be anything.

Victorian era

High collars, bows, puffs, frills, ruffled cuffs on the sleeves, openwork embroidery and other elements of the Victorian era were present in one form or another by every second designer.

Accentuated waistline

Among the main trends for the spring/summer 2016 season is a clearly defined silhouette. Everything is used - from satin ribbons and straps to laces, sachets and obi belts.

1990s

The 1970s, with all its bohemian aesthetics and hippie style, are gradually giving way to the 1990s. This was especially felt on the catwalks of Paris. Grunge, rave minimalism, horizontal stripes, vinyl, plastic and neon colors - each designer has his own perception.

Neocolonialism

“The white man’s burden,” this is the definition that comes to mind even for an inexperienced person in the fashion world just by looking at the footage from the shows. Conceived as a call for tolerance towards the peoples of different countries and continents, the spring/summer 2016 collections are replete with cliches. Elements of national costumes - from Spanish and Latin American to Indian and South African - are present in the collections of a good half of the designers. Jackets - sherwanis from Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, plenty of scarlet color and complex textured skirts, frills and tassels from Oscar de la Renta and Proenza Schouler, animal prints, tribal trim from designers Valentino and Junya Watanabe. And even the fact that the latter held a screening at the National Museum of Immigration History does not help get rid of the aftertaste.
