The best product for car leather. Car care products: delicate skin

Brother

Car leather conditioner is a service chosen by owners of luxury leather interiors. Despite all the practicality of leather, it tends to lose its luster, dry out, get dirty, and crack. In this case, it is necessary to return it to its previous appearance and restore its properties.

Conditioning a leather interior allows you to restore the leather's softness, elasticity and stylish appearance, prevent cracking and dryness, and restore minor abrasions.

This procedure must be carried out regularly in order to maintain a presentable appearance of the salon for as long as possible. The masters of the Dream Auto car wash network will easily bring the “decoration” of your iron horse to its original form.

Dream Auto's professional employees will do everything to make the leather interior look attractive. It is worth considering that you may be advised to cleanse your leather before conditioning. This is not a whim or a desire to “extract money”: we want you to be satisfied with the result, and conditioner applied to dirty skin will not give the desired effect.

We use only high-quality products and guarantee that we will select the conditioner specifically for your cases. We will not allow the skin to be pulled and damaged, which often happens if the product is applied by a non-professional.

How does conditioning happen?

Treatment of leather with conditioner occurs in several stages and takes no more than 10-15 minutes:

  • the product is applied to a special microfiber mitten and distributed evenly over the skin;
  • The master rubs the conditioner into the leather surface in a circular motion;
  • Use a suede cloth to remove excess product and polish the covers.

It is important that treatment cannot be carried out more often than once a month!

Why should you contact us?

Dream Auto employees will professionally perform the service of conditioning the leather interior. You can sit comfortably in the client room and enjoy hot drinks - tea or coffee. We use only safe professional auto chemicals from a German manufacturer.

By entrusting car care to us, you are guaranteed to get an impeccable result!

Some of these formulations are specialized, others are universal, but the word “skin” in the annotation was the password by which the drug ended up in our cart. As a result, it turned out that only two compositions can rightfully be called leather interior cleaners. And another one - a soap solution, non-competitive and the cheapest - works great on the skin, but after that you need to treat it with a protective composition, otherwise it will become stiff.

Participants in the test, conducted in an extremely hackneyed editorial car with leather seats, are arranged in alphabetical order by manufacturer. The best (in our opinion) are marked as “ZR’s Choice”.

Declared manufacturer - Arexons, Italy

Approximate price - 420 rubles. for 500 ml

Serves to nourish and clean leather seats and upholstery, prevents the formation of cracks, and contains cosmetic oils. Technology: spray and wipe.

Having done just that, we then discovered: the dirt remained where it was. We hope that after cosmetic treatment the skin at least felt better.

OUR CHOICE - Armor All leather care protectant

Declared manufacturer - The Armor All/STP Products, USA

Approximate price - 180 rubles. for 473 ml

The Russian-language sticker only indicates the technology of application: apply, rub, polish. Out of curiosity, we tore it off and found the original English text, from which we learned that the composition cannot be used on suede or non-shiny leather, and especially on transparent plastic and glass - stains will remain.

Let's close our eyes to the carelessness of the translation - the product took second place in our sample in terms of cleansing ability and earned an honorary label. In addition, it is not too expensive.

Approximate price - 240 rubles. for 300 ml

Suitable for vinyl upholstery, rubber and plastic panels, but not for suede and porous leathers that darken when wet. It protects against drying out, returns natural color and texture, and a certain “FadeStop blocker” protects against UV radiation and on hot days reduces the temperature of the upholstery by 20–25 °C!

Technology: shake, apply, wait, wipe, polish.

The temperature under the fifth point was not measured - check it yourself next summer. The product removes light stains and a thin film of fat well, but it is powerless against old stains, not to mention folds and cracks.

Declared manufacturer - Doctor Wax, USA

Approximate price - 400 rubles. for 450 ml

We bought not into the promised gentle cleansing of the skin, restoration of its elasticity, freshness and protection, but into the “binary nanoemulsion with the principle of a unidirectional membrane filter.” Despite such a complex description, the application technology is simple: apply and rub.

After this, we could not (without a “nanoscope”) even see the boundaries of the cleared and untouched areas. But, as it turned out, the product perfectly removes the most stubborn dirt from hard vinyl panels. Maybe the labels were mixed up?

OUR CHOICE - O leather cleaner Leder Reiniger Autosol 01 001040

Declared manufacturer - Dursol-Fabrik, Germany

Approximate price - 190 rubles. for 75 ml

Designed for leather and vinyl, but not velor or suede. Afraid of frost. The instructions read: shake (is this a tube?!), apply, rub, dry and remove.

The thick composition is easy to apply. It easily copes with dirt without leaving the surface sticky and removes dirt from folds. But the effort is too great. Cleaning a small surface, for example an area of 200 by 200 mm, is within the capabilities of most car enthusiasts, but with a whole seat you will struggle.

Declared manufacturer - Hi-Gear Products, USA

Approximate price - 350 rubles. for 500 g

Designed for leather, vinyl, plastic, rubber. Not suitable for suede, porous leather that darkens when wet. According to the manufacturer, it displaces dirt, is absorbed without residue, leaves behind the smell of new leather and a water- and dirt-proof layer.

Directions for use: shake, apply foam, soak, remove dirt, polish.

In reality, the composition removes only mild dirt and does not penetrate into pores and cracks.

Declared manufacturer - Liqui Moly, Germany

Approximate price - 530 rubles. for 250 ml

The abstract states that this composition protects the skin from cracking, refreshes its color, and gives the smell of new material. Technology: first remove coarse dirt, shake, grind and wipe completely.

We cannot throw stones at the manufacturer, since he hinted that the composition will not remove severe stains. But it’s not a bad idea to protect the skin with it after treatment with a soap solution.

Declared manufacturer - Soft 99, Japan

Approximate price - 310 rubles. for 300 ml

A foamy composition that resembles a mousse in consistency. Contains vitamin E, which prevents skin aging, so it is useful to use it without gloves. Not suitable for suede. Technology: shake, apply to fabric and lightly wipe, wipe off, dry.

The composition that arrived from the Land of the Rising Sun does not really cleanse the skin. But a vitamin, if it is there, is a useful thing. True, it’s cheaper at the pharmacy.

Declared manufacturer - NPP Astrokhim LLC, Russia

Approximate price - 60 rubles. for 250 ml

The composition contains an ultraviolet filter and softening additives. Designed for leather and leather-imitation upholstery, but not for suede, nubuck and Alcantara. Technology: shake, apply, rub in, wait and polish.

The smell left after treatment is very pleasant, the seat was refreshed, but it was almost not cleaned, except in a thin surface layer. But where else can you find so much air freshener for that kind of money?

Declared manufacturer - Turtle Wax Europe, UK

Approximate price - 450 rubles. for 500 ml

The smell of freshness is guaranteed. The composition is intended for leather, plastic, rubber, metal and fabric. A real all-rounder, and even with antistatic. There is a safety warning: leather without special impregnation will become slippery after treatment (think about the steering wheel and gear knob).

It turned out that the dirt practically does not disappear from the skin, but the plastic is cleaned.

Upholstery cleaner with odor neutralizer "HORS"

Declared manufacturer - JSC PKF KHORS, Russia

Approximate price - 90 rub. for 500 ml

Friends, after rummaging through the depths of the Internet, I found some interesting material about skin care, I hope it will be useful to you, because the debate about skin care does not stop.

Many car owners prefer cars with leather interiors in the belief that they require less maintenance. “And they are very mistaken,” says Värvi Foorum technical consultant Andree Laumets, “a car with a leather interior requires just more attention. It may be better protected from accidental stains, but in other respects it is more capricious.” The main enemies of the skin are frost, dampness, and sun. Andree Laumets says that debate continues about the impact of air conditioning on the condition of leather interiors. True, if there is a climate control system, no problems arise. From April-May until September, you need to take more active care of leather seats, treating them at least once a month. You shouldn’t console yourself with the thought that our summer is northern: 25-30 degrees Celsius, especially if the car sits closed in the sun for 2-3 days, can have a bad effect on the condition of the leather upholstery, as well as temperature changes.

The older the skin, the more attention
Caring for a leather interior and facial skin is not fundamentally different: the older the leather (for a car dealership this is 3-5 years), the more effort is required. Light skin gets dirty easily, but this does not mean that black is flawless: stains of faded paint are more noticeable on it, and it quickly overheats in the heat. The main thing in caring for leather interiors is cleanliness and a good leather cream or oil. Before applying the cream to the leather surface, it is recommended to clean it with a sponge, then neutralize it with a chemical agent using a soft cloth so that the cream is better absorbed, and only then lubricate it. Andree Laumets recommends applying the cream twice, 30 minutes apart, at least on the front seats, since they are used more.

Elasticity is more important than shine and gloss
Older skin needs creams enriched with oils, and when choosing between creams that add shine to the skin and softening natural creams, it is worth remembering that gloss and elasticity do not always go hand in hand. “From the point of view of a comfortable ride,” says Andree Laumets, “it is more important that the seat leather is soft to the touch and does not stick to the body. The cream must be well absorbed and not harden on the surface, otherwise it prevents the leather from stretching, shortening its service life.” Kalle Kukesman, owner of Meguiar's Pesula manual car wash, gives two more tips for using leather seat care products: try any new product in an inconspicuous place to see if it will spoil the color of the upholstery, and also do not overuse the amount applied - an excess of products contributes to the appearance of stains. Kalle Kukesman uses the professional Meguiar's series, adopted by such large automakers as BMW and Mercedes, to treat leather interiors. “If we talk about approximate prices,” notes Andree Laumets, the general rule works here: good things are rarely cheap. Prices for Meguiar’s, for example, start from 300 CZK. When choosing, it makes sense to pay attention to the “age” of the manufacturer - it is desirable that the company be “experienced”, then the quality of its products can be trusted." The difference between professional products and those intended for private consumers is that the former effectively clean and renew skin, and the latter mainly help keep it in order.

As a last resort - shoe cream
The new auto magazine AutoBild Eesti recommends the Finnish Softcare series for regular care of leather interiors, as well as universal leather upholstery products Salamander Kõmbi Shaum and Tana Saddle Soap. If you don’t have anything at hand, Salamander shoe creams will also work. Of course, priority is given to special products for car dealerships, since they are designed to care for skin that is constantly exposed to extreme conditions. Andree Laumets says that just as a car should undergo a technical inspection after every 10,000 km, it should also be cleaned and treated by a professional at least twice a year. From the point of view of regular maintenance, the experience of the United States is very useful, where the whole family gathers to take care of the car on weekends: “Americans are accustomed to this from a young age!”

Guaranteed to preserve its appearance, protecting the material from abrasion and cracking. Therefore, leather interior needs to be treated periodically.

Today, there is an abundance of compositions for caring for leather interior surfaces on the car cosmetics market. The range is no less impressive than the range of prices. At the same time, there is a simple, very budget-friendly, and most importantly, proven and reliable way to protect the skin in the car interior from drying out.

A product that will help with this is sold in every pharmacy and costs less than 100 rubles. This is ordinary castor oil! It is suitable for processing seats and interior parts covered in any type of leather. We will show you how to use this oil.

Brilliant idea

To treat leather surfaces, in addition to the castor oil itself, we will need a small napkin. We rub oil, for example, on a leather steering wheel - it is on this that abrasions and cracks appear first during use. Apply the composition to a napkin and begin to gently rub. Please note that we deliberately avoid plastic parts, since plastic does not absorb oil.

You should also try to apply a little oil, otherwise it will remain on the surfaces for a long time. If this does happen, you will have to wait an hour and a half or two. During this time, the castor oil will be completely absorbed. There are no other tricks or difficulties here.

Caring for leather upholstery in your car does not necessarily break your budget. This means that the procedure can be carried out regularly, as expected. This will significantly extend the life of leather-trimmed surfaces.

Leather interior, like velor, requires special care. But, as you know, leather is a delicate surface, so proper cleaning is required to prevent premature wear.

By cleaning your skin yourself, you save 3,000 on cleaning from specialists.

And by caring for your leather interior, you extend its life. Reupholstering such a salon costs 20,000 rubles.

What you will need to cleanse your skin:

Open list Close list
  • – a conditioner with a pleasant smell cleanses the skin of the smallest dust, removes stains and dirt. Lanolin and moisturizing oils in this product work wonders on leather products: restore their original color, moisturize, soften and restore their shine.
  • – leather cleaner. Quickly and effectively cleans the leather surface of stubborn stains and dirt. It is very easy to use and can be used not only for car interiors, but also for home furnishings.
  • Latex gloves
  • Dishwashing sponge with hard bristles

Cleaning the skin

To clean the skin we will need:

  • Cleaner Leather Cleaner.

  • Foam sponge. We use a professional sponge with a hard surface, which can be purchased at a car dealership. A dish sponge is also suitable, but be careful - if you are not using a professional sponge, then take only a neutral color, since poorly colored foam rubber can leave marks on the surface and ruin the skin.

Let's get started:

Apply a few drops of the product to the sponge.

We try the cleaner on an inconspicuous area of leather, for example, on the back of the armrest. We do this to make sure that the cleaner does not leave stains or damage the surface.

If everything is in order - the leather has not changed color or become stained - we begin cleaning the leather seats.

We visually divide the surface of the seat into several sections to simplify the process. For example, we first clean the seat, then the lower part of the backrest, then the upper part, and so on.

Let's get started on the first small section.

Using a little force, rub the surface with a sponge.

For heavily contaminated areas of skin, repeat the operation. If the dirt is deeply embedded in the surface, use the hard side of the sponge.

Then wipe the cleaned surface with a damp cloth, removing any remaining product.

Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Polishing the leather

We add gloss, shine and a pleasant smell to the leather surface with the help of Kangaroo. The product is applied exclusively after cleansing the skin and only on a dry surface.

Take the air conditioner and a soft, dry cloth.

Apply a little conditioner to the fabric.

We do not apply conditioner directly to the skin, it can be damaged.

We check the effect of the product on a small, inconspicuous area of the skin to make sure that the surface does not change color or become stained.

We wipe the hidden area of the leather surface.

If everything is in order - the leather has not changed color or become stained - simply wipe all leather surfaces in the cabin with the product.

The skin acquires a pleasant smell and is transformed in appearance. The leather is now ready for use again.

A sparkling car for you!
