After this, we could not (without a “nanoscope”) even see the boundaries of the cleared and untouched areas. But, as it turned out, the product perfectly removes the most stubborn dirt from hard vinyl panels. Maybe the labels were mixed up?

Cleaning a small surface, for example an area of 200 by 200 mm, is within the capabilities of most car enthusiasts, but with a whole seat you will struggle.

The older the skin, the more attention
Caring for a leather interior and facial skin is not fundamentally different: the older the leather (for a car dealership this is 3-5 years), the more effort is required. Light skin gets dirty easily, but this does not mean that black is flawless: stains of faded paint are more noticeable on it, and it quickly overheats in the heat. The main thing in caring for leather interiors is cleanliness and a good leather cream or oil. Before applying the cream to the leather surface, it is recommended to clean it with a sponge, then neutralize it with a chemical agent using a soft cloth so that the cream is better absorbed, and only then lubricate it. Andree Laumets recommends applying the cream twice, 30 minutes apart, at least on the front seats, since they are used more.
Elasticity is more important than shine and gloss
Older skin needs creams enriched with oils, and when choosing between creams that add shine to the skin and softening natural creams, it is worth remembering that gloss and elasticity do not always go hand in hand. “From the point of view of a comfortable ride,” says Andree Laumets, “it is more important that the seat leather is soft to the touch and does not stick to the body. The cream must be well absorbed and not harden on the surface, otherwise it prevents the leather from stretching, shortening its service life.” Kalle Kukesman, owner of Meguiar's Pesula manual car wash, gives two more tips for using leather seat care products: try any new product in an inconspicuous place to see if it will spoil the color of the upholstery, and also do not overuse the amount applied - an excess of products contributes to the appearance of stains. Kalle Kukesman uses the professional Meguiar's series, adopted by such large automakers as BMW and Mercedes, to treat leather interiors. “If we talk about approximate prices,” notes Andree Laumets, the general rule works here: good things are rarely cheap. Prices for Meguiar’s, for example, start from 300 CZK. When choosing, it makes sense to pay attention to the “age” of the manufacturer - it is desirable that the company be “experienced”, then the quality of its products can be trusted." The difference between professional products and those intended for private consumers is that the former effectively clean and renew skin, and the latter mainly help keep it in order.
As a last resort - shoe cream
The new auto magazine AutoBild Eesti recommends the Finnish Softcare series for regular care of leather interiors, as well as universal leather upholstery products Salamander Kõmbi Shaum and Tana Saddle Soap. Brilliant idea

To treat leather surfaces, in addition to the castor oil itself, we will need a small napkin. We rub oil, for example, on a leather steering wheel - it is on this that abrasions and cracks appear first during use. Apply the composition to a napkin and begin to gently rub. Please note that we deliberately avoid plastic parts, since plastic does not absorb oil.

Cleaning the skin

To clean the skin we will need:

Foam sponge. We use a professional sponge with a hard surface, which can be purchased at a car dealership. A dish sponge is also suitable, but be careful - if you are not using a professional sponge, then take only a neutral color, since poorly colored foam rubber can leave marks on the surface and ruin the skin.

Apply a few drops of the product to the sponge.

We try the cleaner on an inconspicuous area of leather, for example, on the back of the armrest. We do this to make sure that the cleaner does not leave stains or damage the surface.

If everything is in order - the leather has not changed color or become stained - we begin cleaning the leather seats.

We visually divide the surface of the seat into several sections to simplify the process. For example, we first clean the seat, then the lower part of the backrest, then the upper part, and so on.

Using a little force, rub the surface with a sponge.

For heavily contaminated areas of skin, repeat the operation. If the dirt is deeply embedded in the surface, use the hard side of the sponge.

Then wipe the cleaned surface with a damp cloth, removing any remaining product.
