With this tutorial you can make a beautiful doll from threads with your own hands in a few simple steps. We have prepared detailed photo instructions and some useful tips for you. This step-by-step master class uses extremely affordable materials; the process of making a fairy doll will take you literally a few minutes.
How to make a doll?
The first step is to prepare the threads. To do this, we wrap them on a small cardboard (its size depends on how long you will make the doll’s hair). It’s best to take it with a reserve, and then just trim off the excess.
Thread the wire into the hole of the bead and pull it until it stops. If it is much thinner than the hole, make a knot at the exit - intertwine the wire.
Next we need to take another wire. Its length is equal to the arm span of our future doll. We make a wire binding just below the fairy's head and secure this place with thread. Then, with the same thread, we continue to braid the doll’s body to the place where we determine the beginning of its legs.
Let's wrap the doll's arms and legs separately. If the wire is thin enough. You can make a winding in two or more layers. Then we take a beautiful decorative braid (preferably not satin, as its small pieces will spread out) and make a shirt for the fairy. If there is no braid, you can cut an old lace doily or handkerchief into narrow strips that are easy to work with. At the same stage, the bead is painted white so that the head of our doll is not just wooden.
The parts can be sewn or glued - whichever is more convenient for you. Cut out several leaves from the fabric. This is done to ensure that the skirt is quite full and looks beautiful. It is better to take different fabric - two or three types. In this case, nylon tape looks very nice. We sew the fabric, glue it or screw it with wire.
To make the junction of the skirt and shirt look beautiful, add a horizontal ribbon-braid. Separately, we will glue the wings of our fairy. You can take a ready-made version (butterfly clips for curtains and gifts are perfect), cut it out using a stencil, or simply fold it out of wire and then cover it with fabric. Add rhinestones or beautiful beads along the edges of the wings.

These little fairies confirm the fact that in the hands of a creative person, even the simplest materials can turn into an amazing creation. These fairy fairies are made from colored napkins, but you can also use paper from candy wrappers to create them. There are also sets of candies where each candy is in separate round paper wrappers, sometimes in a variety of colors. Such candy wrappers are very suitable for creating wavy skirts for these fairies. This doll can be hung on the New Year tree. How do you like this Christmas tree fairy decorated with sparkles?
Pay attention to the fairy's hat, twisted to one side - a very important element that gives the whole image special expressiveness!
Of course, in addition to napkins and paper candy wrappers, such a fairy can be made from crepe paper. This paper is very suitable for simulating folds and draperies on a fairy's skirt.
Materials used in the process of creating a paper fairy: paper, wire, glue, floss threads, satin ribbon, sequins. Fairy dimensions: about 15 cm from the top of the hat to the socks. You can make smaller fairies too. You can use fishing line to hang the fairy on the Christmas tree.
The idea of creating such dolls belongs to the user under the nickname stariy suitcase. In the magazine "Technology" for 2012, her article was published on the creation of mobile figures - dolls made from napkins, which are hung on special structures and "dance" when the air moves in the room. A paper fairy is made using the same technology as dolls made from napkins. You can watch a detailed master class on creating such dolls.
A fairy lantern is a charming craft that will help bring magic to children's games or evening gatherings in the garden. It can be used as a night light, decoration or simply as a cute room decoration that transports you to the world of forest fairies living on mysterious islands. However, this unusual decor performs not only a decorative function, but also contributes to the development of imagination, curiosity and the spirit of adventure in little tomboys. And if your child is reading the amazing stories of James Barrie about Peter Pan and his friends, such a flashlight will be a real gift for him, thanks to which the abodes of the wonderful country of Neverland will become a little closer.
Making a flashlight is not at all difficult. For work, prepare the following materials:
Step 1.
Using a foam brush, apply a thin layer of white glue to the inside of the jar, which should first be washed and dried thoroughly.
Step 2.
Before the glue sets, pour glitter into the jar.
Step 3.
Close the lid and shake the jar well so that the glitter is evenly distributed over the surface and adheres to the glue. Discard any remaining glitter and let the glue dry completely.
Step 4.
Cut a piece of cardboard into a circle equal to the diameter of the bottom of the jar, making sure it fits easily inside the container. Prepare the moss, artificial flowers and leaves that you will use to decorate the lantern.
Step 5.
Using a glue gun, attach the plant elements to the cardboard base.
Step 6
Print out the free fairy template (see), transfer the image onto cardboard and cut it out with scissors.
Step 7
Using hot glue, fix the fairy-tale heroine on the cardboard base, placing the blank as close to the edge as possible - this is necessary so that the fairy’s silhouette is clearly visible in the finished lantern.
Step 8
Place the decorative base in the jar.
Step 9
Now you need to decorate the lid and make a hanging mechanism on it. To do this, tie a strong loop from jute rope and attach it with hot glue. Mask the lid with green moss.
Step 10
Intertwine the jute rope with a plant shoot to make the structure look more aesthetically pleasing. For reliability, fix the decor in several places with hot glue.
Step 11
Place a tea light at the bottom of the jar. To avoid accidental fire of the decorative elements of the flashlight, use special flameless candles, which allow you not to worry about safety. Such candles create a pleasant soft flicker, not due to an open flame, but with the help of a battery-powered LED. An undoubted advantage of flameless candles is the ability to adjust the level of illumination, which is especially important when used in children's rooms.
Step 12
The magic lantern is ready.
You can hang it on a hook or place it on any flat surface. On a summer or autumn evening, fairy lights will be appropriate outdoors; in winter, their soft warming light and mysterious design will fit perfectly into your home interior.

MATERIALS:
1 wooden bead with a diameter of 4 cm with a central hole;
2 pieces of wire with lint (pipe cleaner), each 29 cm long;
a small ball of wool yarn;
a small piece of lace 2 cm wide;
3 skeletonized leaves;
3 leaves of cotton fabric, cut according to the skeletonized leaf pattern;
ready-made feather wings or 4 decorative feathers;
4 small ribbon flowers;
white and black gouache paint.
TOOLS:
glue and glue gun;
brushes;
scissors;
a rectangle of thick cardboard measuring 12.5 x 10 cm.
3.
OPERATING PROCEDURE:
Step 1
Wrap the thick wool thread around the cardboard rectangle about 30 times.
Step 2
Cut the wound threads on one side and remove the cardboard.
Step 3
Bend one piece of wire in half and insert it into the hole of a wooden bead.
Step 4
Insert a bunch of woolen threads into the resulting loop, so that the loop covers them exactly in the center, and pull the wire through the hole in the bead.
Step 5
Fold the second piece of wire in half.
Step 6
Wrap it around the fairy's neck several times, forming arms. Turn the fairy body halfway and bend the bottom of each piece of wire forward to form the soles of the feet.
Step 7
Wrap the thread around the wire blank, starting at the neck and down the body, up and down each leg, through the arms, until the wire is completely covered. Secure the end of the thread with glue.
Step 8
Cover the wooden bead with two coats of white gouache paint and let dry thoroughly before continuing.
Step 9
Wrap a small piece of lace around the upper body diagonally over the shoulder and adhere with a small bead of glue at the back of the body. Repeat this step with the second piece of lace, wrapping it over the other shoulder.
Step 10
Wrap skeleton and fabric leaves around the fairy's waist, placing them on glue. At the same time, alternate leaves and fabric, placing them evenly around the body.
Step 11
Glue the wings onto the fairy's back. If you are not using a finished part, but individual feathers, first fasten them together with wire in the shape of wings.
Step 12
Lubricate the back of the head with glue and arrange the thread hair beautifully.
Step 13
Attach small satin flowers with glue on the front of the head along the conditional hairline.
Step 14
Use your thinnest brush to paint two dots of black eye paint on the face.
Step 15
Leave the toy to dry. When the glue and paint dry well, the fairy is complete.
Step 16
If you would like to hang the ornament on the tree, tie two strings of hair together to create a loop.
Step 17
By following the same sequence of actions, only changing the color of the yarn and other materials, you can make many different fairies.
