Eric Indikov:“You can safely wear red lipstick to the office, but its texture should be matte or silky. Tip: Excess moisture or the pearlescent shine of lipstick can be muted by powdering your lips with a tissue after applying lipstick.”

How to make daytime makeup more durable?

You want to preserve the beauty and freshness brought on in the morning throughout the day. What do makeup artists advise to extend the life of everyday makeup?

Yulia Bogatyr:“Since a standard working day is about 8–9 hours, it is better not to use heavy products (foundation) - otherwise by the evening your appearance will leave much to be desired. Your lifesaver is a light texture powder (with a brush), which will always help you touch up your makeup throughout the day. As for special napkins, I don’t recommend using them often. The wipes will help remove excess sebum, but at the same time remove the makeup itself.

To preserve your makeup for a long time, it is important to use a makeup base. It is available in various textures, so you can choose the one that suits your skin best (tonics, creams, etc.). The makeup base improves the condition of the epidermis and prevents third-party microparticles (for example, dust) from penetrating into the skin. It turns out to be a kind of protective film. When applying products from the next stage (tone, powder), they remain on the surface. It turns out that the makeup is fixed not “from the outside”, but “from the inside”. The makeup base is applied after standard cleansing and care.

It wouldn't hurt to have a bottle of thermal water on your desk. In an office environment where there is little oxygen and air conditioning, it is very advisable to use thermal water two to three times a day directly on makeup. It refreshes, oxygenates, improves the appearance of the skin, and also sets and maintains makeup.”

But “zero” makeup will not always be appropriate - the lighting in offices is most often bright and cold, which mercilessly emphasizes the pallor of the skin and highlights its imperfections. Such lighting can completely ignore invisible makeup and turn its owner into a tortured office mouse, which, you see, will be very offensive.”

Yulia Bogatyr:“It should be remembered that matte textures with glitter and pearl add an evening edge to makeup, which is not suitable for the office. Red lips are not an office look, but an evening or weekend look. But again, depending on the situation, this option may be applicable (for example, if you are a boss and want to emphasize your status). Also, overly bright shades of eye shadow (blue, pearlescent), bright lips, flashy pink blush are inappropriate for the office.”

Then we powder the eyelashes a little (this will make them more voluminous) and, if time permits, apply shadows: the same color and only along the eyelash growth lines. If you are more accustomed to drawing arrows with eyeliner, you should not experiment under time pressure: it is much easier to apply shadows evenly. Afterwards we paint the eyelashes with mascara (only the top ones are allowed). And already on the run, all you have to do is moisturize your lips with a neutral gloss.

2. Cheeks

If your complexion leaves much to be desired, and it is not typical for you to have even a slight blush, the main emphasis should be on your cheeks. As in the first option, first we prepare the entire face. After moisturizing with a tonal effect, you can even out your skin tone with loose powder (it’s easier and faster to apply with a large round brush). Now it's time for blush. We draw our cheeks in and apply blush to the prominent areas of the cheekbones with a large brush, carefully blending them diagonally. The finishing touch is lip gloss or hygienic lipstick.

3. Lips

This option is suitable for those who are confident in their dazzling smile and prefer to lip makeup use bright lipstick colors, not pastel pearlescent shades! Thoroughly dust the cleansed and moisturized face with mattifying powder, then draw the outline of the lips with a pencil.
