How to become a participant in the promotion

Anyone can take part in the loyalty program subject to a number of conditions:

  1. Make a purchase at any store or supermarket in the chain.
  2. Receive stickers at the checkout for purchased goods, except for tobacco products.
  3. Paste countermarks into a special booklet.
  4. Collect the required number of chips.
  5. Exchange a booklet with stickers for any promotional product at a discount.

If you want to buy another product from the collection, you must fill out another booklet.

Important! You can purchase only one item from the collection per booklet.

The type of counterfeit marks depends on which store the purchase is made at. The program provides single and double stickers, which are equivalent to:

  • 1 single chip – 250 rub. in “Magnit at home” and “Magnit Pharmacy”;

And why collect stickers at all?

I have three children and I love to please them with gifts. But there is not always money for this.

In order not to upset the children, I learned to receive gifts at grocery supermarket promotions. It turned out that this is not easy. Promotions are designed to encourage customers to spend more money in pursuit of gifts, so at first they were too expensive for me or I didn’t have time to save up for them.

Stores expect that the buyer will not understand. “We need to buy something there, collect some stamps, and also make this... FRYING FRYING PAN!” To receive gifts, you need to become a book reader and still study the conditions. I began to succeed when I started counting the cost of purchases, negotiating with other customers and taking my children with me to the store. Now I regularly give gifts to myself and my family.

All promotions work similarly: you make purchases for a certain amount and receive gifts. Depending on the conditions, they can be cumulative, collection or mixed.

Savings shares

In accumulation promotions, gifts are given after you accumulate a certain number of stickers or tokens. A gift in a savings promotion is most often large discounts on certain products. So I bought German Fissler knives at Magnit for 99 RUR.

Stickers are given upon purchase of a certain amount. The more you buy, the more stickers you get at checkout. When I was saving up for knives, I received a sticker for every 250 R in the receipt. Some promotions involve special products, upon purchase of which you are immediately given a sticker or two, regardless of the amount of the receipt. Such products are called sponsor products.

Collection promotions

In collection promotions, gifts are given for each purchase if the receipt exceeds a certain amount. Usually these are gifts for children: toys or cards from which you can build a collection. In “Pyaterochka” this fall, for every 555 R in the receipt they gave an eraser in the shape of a troll, and in “Magnit” for every 400 R - two cards with minions.

Collectible toys or cards can be played with. Usually, this requires a playing field or other accessories that can be purchased or received for free in the store. For example, a pencil case for trolls from Pyaterochka costs 149 RUR, and an album for minions from Magnit costs 169 RUR.

My kids love collecting, hoarding, and gluing on tokens. They excitedly pounce on the sealed bags of cards that I bring from the store. If it turns out that they already have such a toy, they exchange it for another - and this is another reason to spend time with friends.


Mixed shares

In mixed promotions, purchases include both gifts and stickers for the collection.

This fall, Dixie had a “Look, Dinosaurs” promotion: for every 400 R in a check, they gave you a bag with a dinosaur and one token sticker. For 20 tokens you could get 3D glasses or a sticker album. Through glasses in a special application you can watch videos about dinosaurs.

The children and I have already received glasses, watched videos and learned a lot of interesting things.


How not to overpay for purchases

The hardest thing about stocks is not to spend more than usual. If you go beyond your budget, gifts cease to be gifts.

I used to keep an eye out for discounts in supermarkets, so I bought groceries where they were cheaper. This doesn’t work with promotions: in order to save up for a gift, you need to buy products in one chain. Because of this, I am not always able to find a purchase at a discount, so I replace some products with others. The easiest way to do this is at home, on the website or in the network’s mobile application - this way you can immediately see the costs of going to the store.


Before checking out, I check the cost of purchases again. If I planned to spend 1600 RUR and get four stickers for 400 RUR each, but only bought 1500 RUR worth of products, then I will lose the sticker. At the end of the promotion, it may not be enough for a gift.

I record all expenses in a table to make it easier to control them. If I don’t fit into the budget, I don’t buy anything, even if it’s the last day of the promotion and I’m missing one sticker. I remind myself that if I make an extra purchase for a gift, it will no longer be a gift. But if I manage to save money, I allow myself to buy more products and save up for a gift faster.

How to wait until the gift

Children are eager to receive gifts, but they are given only for expensive purchases. When we go for something cheap, like bread, I warn them that there won't be a gift so they don't get upset. Soon the children themselves begin to count how much money we spend and how many stickers they give us.

Patience has another benefit. If towards the end of the promotion there are a lot of promotional goods left, the organizers try to make sure that they are sold out quickly: without promotional discounts, it is much more difficult to sell them. To do this, they increase the number of sponsoring products or give more stickers for the same amount of purchases. It becomes easier to save up for a gift.

At the end of the promotion it’s easier to save up for a gift

Sometimes the gifts in the store run out before you save up for them. If there is still a lot of time before the end of the action, it’s okay: later the organizer of the action will bring more. Ask the cashier when this happens, go to the store on the desired day with a booklet of stickers and pick up the gift.

And if the promotion ends tomorrow, you will have to go to another store in the chain. Check with store employees to see where gifts might still be left. It is ideal if your child looks at him with sad eyes at this moment.

Even when gifts run out everywhere, stores try to meet the action participants halfway and order more from the organizers. We didn't know about this before. When we were saving up for a set of bed linen, we waited until the last day and there was no gift for us. We gave up and gave up, and then we found out that they brought more gifts and whoever wanted them got them. It was a shame.

What to do if your purchases are not enough for a gift

Stickers are given to everyone who buys the required amount. Some cashiers simply count out the required quantity and silently give it to the customer. Others ask if stickers are needed. If stickers are not needed, the cashier will leave them at the register.

The cashier does not have the right to participate in the promotion, so he accumulates extra stickers. Your task is to ask him for them.


When I was collecting dinosaur chips and came into the store with my sons, the cashier gave me two extra bags of stickers simply because “you have two kids.” I thanked him and said that there were actually three children, and received another prize bag.

You can also negotiate with customers in line. Often they take stickers “just in case” and then simply throw them away. You can help the person understand the promotion and ask if they need stickers. If not, he will share them with you because you showed attention and care.

Ask your friends where they buy their groceries. If people don't have children yet, they often leave gifts at the checkout. Ask them not to refuse gifts and bring them to you. This is how we collected most of the minions in the last Magnit event.


Applications - discount trackers

There are phone applications that monitor store promotions. I use the Edadil app.

The idea is this: write in the search what you need to buy, and the application looks for which stores have a discount or promotion for this product. You can only search for those stores that you are comfortable going to.


On the offer lines, look at the duration of the promotion so as not to come to the store after it ends.

Not all stores of the retail chain may have a promotion or discount. To find a supermarket where the offer is valid, click on the line with the product - you will see the address of the nearest store or you can select another one on the map if you want to go near work and not near home.


The application has a “Complain” option, if the desired product is not in stock, it has a different price, the store responds that the promotion has already ended or has not started, or they do not know anything about the promotion. I have never complained, although they say that some stores offer attractive prices for one product, and they have similar ones in stock, but more expensive.

It is also important to understand that these apps are simply a way for stores to attract customers. This is all essentially pure advertising and marketing. But in my opinion, it’s more convenient with the app than without it.

Remember

  1. Choose a promotion with useful prizes and don’t waste your energy.
  2. Do not rush to fulfill the conditions: they may be changed, and the deadlines may be extended.
  3. Consider your budget and don't spend more than you planned.
  4. Agree with sellers, customers and colleagues at work so that they share promotional stickers.
