How to make a flower from fabric?

A step-by-step master class will help you understand the process:

  1. Preparation of patterns. Cut out drawn round geometric shapes of different diameters from paper. Templates can be made using glasses of different sizes or other objects of similar shape.
  2. Place the cut parts on the fabric. Using ready-made templates, cut out several round elements of each size from the prepared organza - you get blanks for the petals.
  3. Using a burning candle, melt the edges of the workpieces.
  4. It is recommended to start assembling with the lower petals, which are larger in size, then add the rest one by one. In the middle of the flower, glue a bead, seed beads, you can sew them on or string them on a fishing line. It turns out to be a beautiful flower - a peony.
  5. To create a rose, at the beginning of work, make shallow cuts in a round fabric blank. During the process of scorching with fire, carefully observe that the petals curl in one direction. In this case, the delicate rose will turn out beautiful and elegant.

Flowers and ribbons

Decorative embellishments made from ribbons of different fabrics look completely natural. This is a rose twisted from a single satin ribbon, realistic bouquets, textured buds, lace specimens with leaves.

If you understand the technique of twisting the simplest product - a rose from ribbon strips - in the future you can take on more complex creations. To get roses of different sizes, buds, open heads, you need to vary the dimensional features of the selected ribbon. The composition of the tape used is selected according to the creative wishes of the manufacturer.

To work, you need ribbon fabric of the selected color; the resulting large or medium bud will depend on the width and length. To get a small rose, it is enough to prepare a ribbon 2 cm wide. In addition, prepare the necessary tools, namely scissors, thread, needle and glue gun.

How to make flowers from fabric? Everything is ready, it's time to get to work:

  1. Make a rose from ribbon according to the previous rolling tutorial.
  2. Form the petals by bending the tape outward along the bias and wrap it around the center of the flower. Hold the workpiece from below; you can secure it with thread.
  3. Continue growing the petals according to the scheme: bend the ribbon, wrap the bud, and then continue exactly like this
  4. After a few turns, it is advisable to fix the rows at the base of the bud so that the tape does not unravel. The flower is placed between two fingers (index and thumb) so that the rose is located on the palm.
  5. As soon as the bud reaches the desired size, press the end of the tape to the base and secure with glue.

Experienced craftswomen fix the layers of fabric tape twice, at the beginning of work and at the end, and beginners are recommended to stitch or glue the petals.

Braid is great for making flowers that can be used to decorate rings, brooches or necklaces. The product made from this material turns out to be very elegant and intricate.

Japanese style in action

In the modern world, fashionistas began to use their toiletries decorated with flowers using the kanzashi technique. This is an old handicraft invented by the Japanese, and is still in great demand today. The most popular model of this style is a flower with different shapes of petals, round or pointed edges, for example, chamomile, rose, chrysanthemum and others. The girl's image becomes more feminine and eye-catching thanks to the decoration in the form of a delicate flower with bright colorful petals created from fabrics.

Connoisseurs of decorative art say that fabric products in the kanzashi style will never go out of fashion and will always bring charm and individuality to women.

Before you begin the creative process itself, you need to remember a few important points:

  • Choose the right fabric.
  • Connecting flower parts.
  • Slicing methods.
  • Heat treatment of fabric.

The most suitable and convenient material to use would be a regular satin ribbon. It can be heat treated, easily cut with scissors, and holds the shape of the finished product well. This is the best option for beginner needlewomen. More experienced craftswomen can work with natural silks, nylon and other varieties.

When connecting individual parts of a flower, kanzashi prefer the process of stitching with a needle and thread. You can use glue, but the requirements for it are as follows: dry quickly, leave no marks, hold individual parts of the craft as a whole.

For smooth and accurate cutting, there is a convenient way to wrap the tape several times around a cardboard template, pull it off and cut it into several pieces at once. The edges are trimmed with sharp scissors. There is another simple way: bend the tape diagonally and cut it off. Using the finished template, cut out the required number of blanks.

To melt pieces of fabric and give individual parts a shape, matches and a regular lighter are used. A wax candle will help beginners.

Japanese specialists glue the edges of textiles with rice adhesive, which leaves no marks, and does not use fire treatment.

The disadvantage of this method for inexperienced needlewomen is that such glue takes a long time to dry. If you use a candle to melt the tip of the strip, you need to trim it a few millimeters and then process it at the base of the flame.

Step-by-step instructions for creating an aster

To get a beautiful aster flower from fabric in the kanzashi style, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Prepare satin ribbon, scissors, candle, cardboard, tweezers and glue.
  2. Make a petal from a satin ribbon 5 cm wide, folding it several times and singeing the ends of the petal with a candle. You will need 20 pieces.
  3. Collect the flower from the middle, which will require 4 petals. Glue the parts together.
  4. For the second layer you will need 6 petals.
  5. Glue the petal of the third layer between the two petals of the second. The third row also has 6 petals.
  6. Glue the 4th row in the same way as the third.
  7. Make 12 more petals of a different larger shape and glue them to the main flower in the same way.
  8. In order to cover the wrong side of the product, cut out a small circle from thick cardboard, place it on a piece of fabric, wrap it inside the edge, and secure it with glue.
  9. Glue the flower to the base.

The graceful aster is ready; you can decorate any object with it. This simple tutorial is for a single color aster, but you can experiment with multiple colored cuts.

An accessory consisting of a fabric flower is universal. With such decoration you can appear both at a magnificent celebration and in the office, at presentations and business receptions. The flower must be correctly selected, depending on color and size. Professional craftsmen who are fond of the “silk floristry” style use classical methods to create textile flowers.

Even if it’s raining outside, decorating with an elegant fabric flower will help make this day bright and memorable. And if you make it yourself, then wearing it will become more desirable and enjoyable.

In a work environment, in the office, appropriate decorations are selected. If you wear a brooch to work with a bright and large item that attracts everyone's attention, this is inappropriate. At a fun friendly party, a strict and stylish accessory will not suit the frivolous image of a lady.

For a working business suit, floral brooches made of fabric that matches the set, such as tweed, are suitable. A formal, formal dress will be brightened up with a small, modest rose. If such a cold dress is complemented with a lush chrysanthemum, then in such an outfit you can go anywhere after work, for example, to a restaurant.

A small bright aster looks great with a white office blouse.

When choosing accessories while walking, you can relax and give free rein to your imagination. You can use products of any size that are bright and original. Poppies and orchids made from fabrics will be combined with this image.

In summer, there are no restrictions in choosing bright jewelry; you can safely wear the most unusual jewelry.

When going for a walk, you don’t need to add sparkling items to your wardrobe that are more suitable for the evening.

A feminine, delicate look is emphasized by products made from airy and light materials.

In winter, the decoration palette becomes calm and pastel.

Autumn is characterized by a warm range of colors that will make the dull season brighter and more cheerful.

In addition to the festive outfit, elegant bouquets made of silk are suitable.

The option looks original when the textural properties of the flower are completely opposite to the structural fabric of the outfit.

A wonderful contrast will be obtained by combining sparkling accessories and the dullness of the festive toilet. Textiles have the excellent ability to transform a simple modest dress into an elegant festive outfit. You can try attaching a homemade flower to a work dress, and the image of its wearer will change radically.

Decorations for children

Children can create flowers from fabric with their own hands according to patterns using templates, of course with the help of adults. Every child looks forward to holidays, especially birthdays. Parents are more worried than the hero of the occasion, because they want to make this day unforgettable for their child.

You can start preparing for the holiday by decorating the birthday boy’s room. This is where knowledge on creating appliques and crafts from different fabrics comes in handy. And the best thing is to make everything yourself, and the kids will be happy to do needlework with their parents.

Homemade crafts decorate chairs, festive tables, and other interior items. And your daughter’s new dress will become very elegant and sophisticated if you attach a beautiful tulle flower to it.

To make a delicate accessory, you need to take a few centimeters of satin ribbon, a piece of tulle, and sewing supplies. Fold the ribbon in half and sew it, prepare round elements from tulle, and connect them together, carefully pulling the thread, give the shape of a flower. Glue a bead to the center, and sew the finished copy to the dress.

Flowers decorate children's dresses and skirts, making them more festive. Handmade decorative items make our lives more joyful and bright, and the fact that they are made with our own hands adds uniqueness and soulfulness.

For this we need:
candle
artificial (!) fabric (chiffon, organza, silk....)
fabric paints
scissors
"hot glue
base for a hairpin (headband, brooch, etc. at your discretion)
ribbons, beads, leaves (optional)
good mood (required!)
If everything is at hand, you can start!
So, first of all, you need to choose the fabric. For this method of making a flower, only ARTIFICIAL fabrics are suitable. It can be silk, organza, chiffon, etc. Flowers look very beautiful, in the manufacture of which several types of fabrics of different densities and textures are used. The color of the fabric may also vary. From colored fabric (or a combination of several colored fabrics), you can make a wonderful accessory for a dress or suit in a certain color scheme. By dyeing white fabric yourself, you can get more natural flowers in a variety of shades.
Having chosen the fabric, we decide on the size of the flower. For convenience, cut out a circle from thick paper with a diameter equal to the maximum size of the flower, and then three more circles, each of which is approximately 0.5 - 0.7 mm smaller than the previous one. The number of "size" circles can be changed, but from practice - 4 sizes is most optimal. The diameter of the largest template in my case is 7.5 cm. We remember that the finished flower is 1-1.5 cm smaller than the template, depending on the fabric used.
Now that the templates of four sizes are ready, we cut out blank circles from the fabric. Their number may be different, it depends on the density and splendor of the flower you want to get. I cut out about 4-5 pieces of each size, depending on the fabric, according to the principle, the thinner the fabric, the more blanks.
Option 1 (white silk)
We lay out the fabric blanks on the work surface and using fabric paints (I use DECOLA “Batik” paints), we begin painting the future petals. To obtain beautiful and natural color transitions, the fabric must first be slightly moistened.

In this version, I paint only the middle of the blanks, leaving the edges white. There is no point in achieving absolutely identical and even workpieces, because... in living nature there is nothing symmetrical or identical.

After the paint has dried on all the pieces, we move on to the next stage - cutting out the petals. To do this, cut the workpiece into 4 parts, about 1-1.5 cm short of the center, and cut off the sharp corners of the petals.
Then carefully and carefully process all the edges of the petals over the candle flame.

Having processed all the “quatrefoil blanks” in this way, we arrange them according to size. Then we make a flower out of them in descending order, fastening them together with “hot” glue (or stitching them with threads).

We add stamens (here small polystyrene foam is tinted in green), leaves and attach our animated flower using “hot” glue to the base for hairpins. In this case, I decided to leave the flowers more “open”, for which I used only 10-11 layers of blanks, leaving the middle free.

Option No. 2 (white chiffon)
All stages are the same as in option No. 1, only in this case we paint not only the middle, but the entire surface of the workpiece.

Cut into 4 parts, “rounding” the edges.

Burn the edges over the candles.

We collect a flower.

Add leaves and attach to the base for hairpins. To obtain such more lush flowers, I used 16-17 layers of blanks, completely covering the middle.

Option No. 3 (from colored fabrics)
To make these flowers, I used fabric left over from sewing a dress for my daughter.
These are three types of fabrics: gray silk, colored crinkled chiffon and light gray organza.
All stages of work are the same, only without dyeing the fabric. For clarity, I made two versions of this flower - one from blanks with 4 petals, and the other from blanks with 8 petals (the difference is clearly visible in the finished form).

It’s even faster and easier to make such flowers - we cut them out, burn them, assemble them, fasten them....

And here is the result - a wonderful accessory for the dress is ready!

Among the many different ways to make flowers from fabric, this option seems to me to be the most accessible, fast, and does not require special training or rare, expensive tools. At the same time, it allows you to achieve excellent results!

Today, without any special skills or experience, you can turn even the most boring dress into an original and bright outfit for a party, because there are a lot of ideas, video tutorials and master classes on making various decorative elements with your own hands. To stand out from the crowd, you can decorate your dress with a contrasting flower. And if you want to become the most extraordinary bride, then add bright ribbon decorations to your wedding dress. Today we will learn how to make a flower from fabric with your own hands for a dress - both voluminous, and small, and multi-layered, so that with its help you can attract everyone's attention and make your image more feminine and romantic.

How are fabric flowers created?

In fact, there is nothing complicated, the main thing is to study each stage in advance, so as not to redo the whole work again later. You can make a fabric flower on a dress with your own hands in a few steps.

Pattern

If you still haven’t been able to find a ready-made pattern, you can draw it yourself using a pencil and ruler. You can also use a very ordinary compass and use it to draw a circle, which will be the pattern for creating the petals. You can even take measurements from a real flower.

First, the most beautiful flower in your opinion is taken and carefully disassembled into petals. Then each of them is outlined on cardboard and the blanks are cut out along the edges.

Important! These elements need to be cut on the fabric on a bias. It’s better to use a ballpoint pen to trace the template so that there are no marks left after cutting.

Material selection

In principle, you can make a flower from any fabric, for example:

  • silks;
  • organza;
  • chiffon;
  • atlas;
  • velvet;
  • flax;
  • crepe de Chine.

Important! It is better to give preference to natural materials, since they stretch well and can be easily corrugated. Synthetics do not have such properties and overheat quickly enough, which is why the flowers can become deformed.

Petal coloring

As a rule, this procedure is resorted to if it is necessary to achieve 100% resemblance to a real plant. Best suited for this:

  • confectionery and aniline dyes;
  • photo paints and gouache.

Important! You can dye the fabric completely or each petal separately. First, the pieces of fabric are blotted with water and then laid out on a glass surface. Then, using a brush, the paint is applied to the product.

Fabric preparation

In order for your flower to keep its chosen shape well in the future, you need to starch the material a little or treat it with gelatin. Making such a solution is very simple:

  1. You need to dilute two tablespoons of gelatin in a glass of cold water.
  2. Let it swell and then heat it in a water bath.

You need to dip the fabric into the hot solution and wring it out, then dry it and iron it.

Shaping

To make the petals curved, two main techniques are used:

  • In the first case, the contours of the petals are burned using a lighter or candle.
  • The second method involves the use of bulk. This is a special tool that needs to be heated and given the desired shape to the product. Curling occurs with a special knife, that is, with a crochet hook. And it turns out to be convex thanks to the heel.

Making pistils and stamens

It is thanks to the stamens that flowers become like real ones. And they can be made from thread, which must first be soaked in a solution of gelatin or starch, as well as paint color.

You can make a pestle by wrapping paper around a wire and painting cotton balls in the desired color.

Making the flower core

You can decorate the middle of the plant with a button, beads and even cotton wool. You can glue them to the desired place using PVA glue, which does not leave marks on the fabric.

Making flowers from fabrics with your own hands

Now let's take a practical look at how to make a flower on a dress with your own hands. The master class as a guide can be downloaded from any site of this specificity or viewed online. We will train on the simplest examples in order to thoroughly study this process.

Flower with lace center

To create a beautiful flower, first you will need a small piece of dense material in bright colors. Now follow the instructions:

  1. Cut out several circles of the required diameter.
  2. Fold each element in half several times.

  4. Collect all the details into one whole.
  5. Sew a piece of knitted border or lace in the center of the flower.
  6. To hide all seams, attach a button on top.

Making roses with your own hands

The rose is the queen of flowers, a symbol of love and beauty. Therefore, many, when deciding which flower to make, stop at this:

  1. To work you will need a pink or red ribbon 35 cm long.
  2. Then you will need to bend the edges away from you and gradually roll up the rose.
  3. The base should be secured with a thread, slightly short of the fold.
  4. From the inside you need to sew the end of the tape, fasten all the layers.

Everything is elementary simple!

Original flower made of chiffon and satin

If you wish, you can even create a dress from artificial flowers with your own hands. Naturally, for this you will need a base, that is, a simple, unadorned dress and a large number of decorative elements. These materials are ideal for creating flowers from circles.

Important! It is better to use different fabrics at the same time.

Making ornamental plants is very simple, the main thing is to follow all the recommendations:

  1. Cut at least five circles of different diameters.
  2. Finish the edges with a lighter.
  3. Starting with the largest petal, assemble the flower.
  4. Pin all layers together using a pin.
  5. Fastening the petals, sew the decor to the dress.

How to make an aster yourself?

How to make a flower on a fabric dress with your own hands so that it looks as much like a real aster as possible? Easily!

  1. Take a ribbon of the desired shade, cut it into strips about 7 cm long. That is, how many petals you want to see in your flower, do so many.
  2. Fold each piece in half, using a soldering iron, cut at an angle so that the tops of the petals can be formed.
  3. Wrap them from the bottom in the opposite direction, singe the edges to thereby connect the ends of the tape.
  4. Cut a circle out of thick paper to match the diameter of the flower. Gradually glue the petals onto it, just start from the very edge, slowly approaching the center.

How to make a convex flower?

Now let's look in detail at how to make a flower out of fabric on a dress so that it turns out large and convex. We proceed as follows:

  1. Take any ball that will match the diameter of your flower. Moreover, the larger it is, the larger the finished product will be. Cover it with cellophane.
  2. Make petals. You can use any previously discussed technique for this.
  3. Using a thread, connect 7 petals into a circle and secure. As a result, you will get a small flower that will need to be attached right in the center of our ball.
  4. Between the elements of the first row, insert and glue the petals of the second row.
  5. Glue the petals in rows in this way to form a three-dimensional flower.
  6. Once everything is dry, you can remove the ball and cellophane.

Video material

In this article we told you how to make a flower from fabric with your own hands for a dress. Use these ideas to transform even your simplest things and look more vibrant, impressive and attractive in them.

Since ancient times, flowers have emphasized tenderness and beauty, giving a unique look to any outfit.

Flowers decorate hairstyles, hats, decorate bodices of dresses or enliven the skirts of elegant dresses.

In the clothing collections of European designers, fabric flowers have already taken a strong place as a way to emphasize femininity and beauty.

Fabric flowers are used not only to decorate clothes, but also for accessories and decorations.

Fabric flowers can be created realistic or fantasy - lush roses and chrysanthemums, delicate lilies and irises, scarlet poppies, snow-white daisies.

Cut several layers of different sizes from the fabric.

Make sure that the flower petals bend in one direction. To do this, it is best to hold the flower above the flame, carefully lowering it and watching how the petals curl.

When the edges of all the flowers are processed, we assemble them into finished flowers. To do this, we insert smaller flowers into larger ones like nesting dolls in descending order of size. You get two flowers like this.

We select the central bead and sew it into the middle, at the same time fastening all our flowers in the middle into one voluminous flower.

Then we select small beads or beads and sew them around the central bead

You can arrange fabrics with different textures and colors. The main thing is that they look harmonious together.

If, instead of the shape of a flower, you simply cut out circles from fabric and also process their edges with a candle, then you can assemble a flower of a different shape.

Examples of dresses decorated with fabric flowers:

Belt with flowers in country style

Belt with flowers.

Using small fabric scraps such as lace, tulle, organza, and a few pretty pearl or crystal beads, you can create your own fancy belt.

Below are several belt design options. You can use one of them, supplement or change somehow.

The basis for the belt is a traditionally double-sided, wide satin ribbon.

Take some time to cut out the petals from your chosen fabric. Get creative a little by changing petal shapes, fabric combinations and patterns. Flowers should be grouped in a bouquet on a belt. This way they look more natural.

And here is the sequence of applying colors to the belt.

To create a raised edge of the petals, use a burning candle.

You can also use a couple of petals made of mesh and lace, don’t melt them, just cut them out. In the example, 18 circles of different sizes were used for the central flower, the largest being 12 cm in diameter (before melting).

To get fluffy flowers, you can fold some of your circles in half or into quarters.

Sew the petals in the center to provide shape. Sew beads and pearls. Place the flowers close together on the satin ribbon and secure with pins.

For creativity, cut three leaves from a coarser fabric and insert them under the flower petals.

Cut out thin feathers from the remnants of the satin ribbon, singe the edges, and insert them under the petals. Once the bouquet is completely ready, sew it to the ribbon.

Wonderful decorative elements are, of course, fabric flowers to decorate a dress! Such accessories will easily transform your look and add charm and charm. Making an artificial flower from fabric on a dress is a whole science. Although even beginning needlewomen can handle simple flowers for a baby’s outfit, this will not require any special expenses. But for inflorescences that are as close to real ones as possible, you need skill, patience and hard work.

By creating flowers from fabric on a dress, you can update and refresh your wardrobe. These products also make wonderful gifts.

Origin of artificial flowers

Such accessories are a great addition to any outfit with the right choice of texture and shades. Every woman, be it a child or an older lady, loves jewelry. They can be absolutely anything, and hand-sewn flowers on a fabric dress are completely unique and inimitable!

Note that the use of fabric flowers for decorating clothes came to us from ancient times. Even in Ancient China and Egypt, similar art was developed, and the wonderful crafts of artisans were insanely expensive. It was customary to water such flowers generously with perfume to attract the opposite sex. Decorating an image with fabric inflorescences was available only to rich and noble ladies; this pleasure was closed to commoners. But time passed, and during the Renaissance the French began to widely produce such decor - accordingly, it became much cheaper.

And in our time, the amount of inexpensive materials and decor has flooded the markets, so anyone can make such a miracle - if only they had the desire!

Versatility of the accessory

Fabric flowers are appropriate for any occasion: at a wedding, party, funeral, for going to restaurants, on walks, etc. No other decoration has such versatility as a fabric flower on dresses, T-shirts, jackets - and anywhere. It is clear that such products must be chosen correctly - shade, size, and texture play an important role. There is a whole direction of creating beauty from material, they call it “silk floristry”. The result of the activity is stunning flowers, completely indistinguishable from real ones. This art has become quite popular and is recognized as official - just like origami.

Where can it be used?

A small flower can enliven and add a festive atmosphere to anyone, even on a cloudy day. And when you make it with your own hands, it will become even more enjoyable. When wearing fabric flowers on dresses, there are several important rules:

For example, for an office, it is better to choose decoration that does not attract too much attention. Lush and bright flowers with rich decor may not fit into a business style. A strict formal outfit will be enlivened by a discreet monochromatic rose, and a small chrysanthemum will go perfectly with a white blouse.

But for a walk, you can choose a larger and brighter decoration, but you also shouldn’t bother with stones and sparkles - leave that for special occasions.

For a romantic look, make flowers from organza or chiffon; for a more casual look, make them from denim.

And finally, for an evening dress, choose a beautiful, large decoration sparkling with rhinestones. The most interesting options are obtained when the opposite is combined. A chic look, for example, in the contrast of the shine of clothes and the dullness of jewelry.

Textile decor is remarkable because it can make absolutely any outfit festive. Attach beautiful fabric flowers to your dress for a walk for a vibrant look.

A separate theme is wedding textile decor. As a rule, these are delicate pastel or white flowers, but original ones - red, black - are also quite possible. Use fabric such as satin, chiffon or silk.

Floral arrangements, in addition to brides' dresses, are also placed in the hairstyle, on shoes, and also for the groom's boutonniere.

Most commonly used fabric

When creating flowers use:

  1. Organza (must be artificial), flowers from it will turn out delicate, light, airy.
  2. Silk fabrics. They are usually taken for a luxurious evening dress. Silk has the ability to shimmer elegantly and exquisitely; the product turns out luxurious, which is completely unsuitable for daytime use.
  3. Satin fabric is also an evening option that is great for weddings.
  4. Chiffon fabric - for elegant, delicate flowers.

In general, any materials are used to create flowers. The only condition is a beautiful color, suitable texture and, preferably, a natural composition. This fabric holds wrinkles well, the leaves turn out more delicate and graceful. The synthetic one bristles, and it’s impossible to get a sophisticated look.

Do not try to use expensive material to make your first flower. Stock up on simpler, cheaper materials. And only after acquiring some skills, feel free to take expensive fabric and accessories.

How to make flowers on a fabric dress with your own hands in a simple way?

It’s much easier to take the easy route and buy a flower in a store, but how interesting it is to create everything with your own hands! You will not find such an accessory on anyone - after all, it is unique! To make flowers you need to purchase:

  • material;
  • needles and threads;
  • beads, rhinestones, sequins;
  • candles or alcohol lamp.

Be sure to have patience - you will need it!

To give the inflorescences a natural color, the leaves are painted with special dyes. Well, if there are none, then take ink or gouache. Sometimes the entire sheet of material is painted, and sometimes the petals have already been cut out.

The fastest way to make flowers is to twist them from strips of fabric. It's very easy to do!

To work you need:

  • burlap or linen fabric;
  • glue;
  • lace;
  • beads.

First, cut a strip of fabric 10 cm wide and about a meter long. To create a flower in the style of Provence, glue lace onto the strip.

Twist the resulting sharp corner and begin to twist the strip, while simultaneously wrapping it around the center.

Tuck the end of the strip under the flower, on the underside, and secure with glue. Also carefully glue each place where the fabric strip fits poorly.

Cut out a suitable size circle from felt and glue it to the bottom of the rose. Attach the clasp.

The brooch is ready!

Weightless inflorescences - organza accessories

A very delicate and airy flower of stunning beauty can be made from this airy material. How to sew a flower from fabric onto an organza dress?

Start by cutting out several circles of varying sizes. If there is such a possibility, then it is better if the smaller parts are darker in color, the middle ones are lighter, and the largest outer parts are light. The more petals your flower has, the more voluminous it will be.

So, you have cut the petals, now process them in the candle flame so that the edges melt, but do not turn black!

Place the elements inside each other, starting from largest to smallest. Carefully sew and attach stamens, purchased or from a bundle of threads, or sew on beads and stones.

From dense, non-fraying fabric, cut out a circle that fits the size and glue it on, at the same time attaching the clasp. Ready!

This easy-to-make flower will be a wonderful decorative accessory for everyday occasions, as well as for celebrations!

To work you will need:

  • dress or T-shirt;
  • 2.65 m of chiffon ribbon about five centimeters wide;
  • 40 cm of narrow green ribbon;
  • needle and thread.

We cut the wide ribbon into 10 pieces of 25 cm each. We treat the edges with fire so that they do not crumble. Now each piece must be folded into 4-7 layers, secured at one edge with pins.

On the bodice of the dress we will lay out the first 5 petals in a circle. The middle remains free. Sew using a needle and thread.

Next row we will sew 5 more petals, securing them closer to the center.

We make the middle from fifteen centimeters of the remaining ribbon, folding it into a bow.

We cut the green ribbon into 2 parts and sew them on as stems.

That's it, the bright flower is done!

It can be located anywhere - in the middle, on the side, at the bottom of the skirt - as you like!

Flowers on a fabric dress, photo for inspiration

You can embroider the entire fabric of your dress with fabric flowers, choosing a shade of fabric for making them that is well suited to the main fabric.

Or you can attach such an accessory only in one place, for example, on the shoulder.
