Making New Year's wreaths with your own hands. How to make a wreath with your own hands: base, frame and decoration

Halloween

on New Year's Eve so that they come true. It's time to think about how to beautifully decorate your home and create the fabulous mood inherent in this wonderful holiday. One of the most important attributes of the New Year is the Christmas wreath, which is used to decorate the festive table or front door.

I've always loved Christmas wreaths. I enjoyed looking at them in photographs in magazines. But they weren’t sold in our stores at that time, and for some reason the idea that you could make a wreath with your own hands never crossed your mind.
Then such wreaths appeared in our stores, but the thought of making them myself again did not occur to me. I wanted to have such a wreath, but the price somehow didn’t fit in with my desire. The Internet appeared and, finally, the smart idea came to search its vastness for the technology of making New Year's wreaths with your own hands.
At first, my eyes ran wide from the many options. But then I remembered that I like it to be beautiful, fast and economical, and I began to look in this direction. What I liked, I bring to your attention.

By the way, did you know that the tradition of decorating a house with a beautiful wreath of fir branches came from Western countries, where Lutherans, Catholics and Protestants celebrate the Nativity of Christ on December 25?

The story of the origin of the Advent wreath is very touching. In 1839, Lutheran theologian Johann Wichern, who raised children from poor families, made such a wreath for the first time. The children were looking forward to Christmas and constantly asked if it would come soon. Then Johann came up with a great idea - with the onset of Lent (Advent), in 28 days, make a Christmas wreath from an old wheel, decorating it with fir branches. He placed 24 small red candles and 4 large white ones on this wheel. And every day before morning prayer he lit one red candle, and on Sundays a large white one.

Initially, the tradition of decorating a house with a Christmas wreath meant a pleasant anticipation of the holiday. And still in many European countries, 4 weeks before Christmas, one white candle is lit on Sundays. The round wreath signifies eternal life, and the candles signify divine light.

But the tradition itself turned out to be so beautiful that it spread to other countries, including Orthodox ones. The wreath is prepared before the New Year, and it has become an integral beautiful attribute of the New Year holidays in our homes.

DIY New Year's wreath base

You can make wreaths from various auxiliary materials - fir branches, cones, burlap, Christmas balls and even wine corks. But the main thing in a wreath is the base on which all this beauty will be attached.

There are quite a lot of ways to make a base; perhaps over time you will come up with your own. And now I want to offer you a very simple and inexpensive way to obtain the basis for any Christmas wreath.

What we need for work:

  • wire about 75 cm long, you can use aluminum with a cross-section of 2 mm; it is important that it is not soft and keeps its shape;
  • old newspapers;
  • threads;
  • light paper (toilet paper, paper towels or used paper tablecloth);
  • organza ribbon 4 cm wide;
  • padding polyester

Step-by-step instruction:

1. Bend the wire so that you get a circle with a diameter of 25-27 cm. It is possible with a smaller diameter, but you need to take into account that then you will glue cones, toys, and so on to the base, not only along the outer diameter, but also along the inner one.
It is necessary that when finished, there is empty space inside, otherwise it will no longer be a New Year’s wreath.
Twist the ends of the wire. If it is difficult to do this with your hands, use pliers. It is best to ask men to do this; they have been able to handle wire since childhood.
The result should be a ring, as in the photo.

2. Now we take old newspapers and threads. First, we crumple the newspapers in our hands, and then we begin to wrap the wire with these newspapers without pressing tightly. To prevent the paper from moving, we wrap it with thread on top. We make 2-3 turns with newspaper, then we wrap these turns with thread, again 2-3 turns with newspaper and again secure with thread, and so on.
3. If the first layer seems thin to you, then roll up the second layer of newspapers, not forgetting to wrinkle them well first. This gives volume to our workpiece. The result of this stage is in the picture below.

Actually, the blank is already ready, you can glue twigs and toys onto it. Would you say it's ugly? I think so too. So let's move on.

4. Now take white paper and wrap the resulting donut with white paper, securing it with white threads. You can make several layers, this will only benefit the bagel, it will become stronger.

Look at the picture to see what happened. Already beautiful, right? But there is one caveat. If in the future you plan to decorate the wreath not very tightly, then the white paper will show through, and this is already poor-quality work. So let's make another layer

5. Take an organza ribbon and wrap our donut in one or two layers over white paper. If you took a brown ribbon, then the bagel turned into a ring of Krakow sausage. Does it really look like it?

We choose the color of the tape depending on what you will glue in the future. We were going to stick on pine cones and spruce branches, so the brown tape will show through quite naturally.

Why did you choose an organza ribbon and not a satin one, for example? Because details don’t stick well to satin ribbon, but they stick to organza very well.

That's it, the base is ready, you can start making the Christmas wreath itself.

But, take your time. We have another very simple version of the base.

You can use strips of thick white padding polyester instead of newspapers and paper. Just like with paper, wrap these strips around the wire. Just do not secure it with threads, but glue it with a silicone gun after 2-3 turns.
First, glue it to the wire; if a second layer is needed, then to the padding polyester of the first layer. The end result is this cute fluffy miracle.

Just remember that this base will hold up to lighter embellishments.

New Year wreath made from newspaper tubes

I warn you right away that this is not the easiest wreath to make. Rather, it can even be called complex. But it turns out so beautiful and so economical that I couldn’t help but talk about it. Or rather, it will not be me who will tell the story, but those craftswomen who have mastered this method.

So as not to surf the Internet and waste time, I suggest you watch a video right here and now on how such wreaths are made.

Christmas wreath made of paper vine and natural materials

Christmas wreath made of pine cones - step by step instructions

An inexpensive and very cute wreath is made from pine and fir cones. Let's go to the forest or the nearest park and easily find material for our wreath.

Glue on ribbon bows.

Add bows made of gold braid. Glue pearls into the middle of the bow, or pine cones, or wherever else your heart desires.

Wreath made of burlap and wine corks

This wreath is suitable not only as a New Year's decoration, but also for decorating the kitchen. After all, almost every home contains used wine corks. These are the ones we will use.

What you need to make a wreath:

  • sackcloth;
  • wine corks;
  • cinnamon tubes;
  • Bay leaf;
  • allspice or black peppercorns;
  • nuts;
  • Raffia is a natural fiber made from palm leaves; you can use a suitable rope or twine instead.

We take the base for the wreath and instead of a brown organza ribbon we wrap the future wreath with burlap. We do this carefully overlapping, so that later, while we are gluing the corks, our wreath will not become disheveled. We use a glue gun as usual, gluing the burlap to the base from time to time.

Now we will glue the corks to the burlap, beautifully distributing them throughout the wreath.

It turned out like this “bagel sprinkled with corks.”

Now take the raffia, fold it in half and make a loop. I have already written that instead of raffia, you can take rope or thick twine; it is important that they match the color and do not seem alien. Glue the loop to the base.

We wrap the remaining long ends of the raffia around the base and secure the ends with glue.

We finally decorate the wreath with cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, peppercorns, seeds, nuts and anything else that comes to hand in the kitchen. A bright accent in the wreath would be red rose hips or any other.

Master class on making a New Year's wreath from beads

What you need to make a wreath:

  • green wire thickness 0.37 mm;
  • large beads, red or blue;
  • green beads (can be mixed);
  • gold beads No. 10 for the garland;
  • a ring or steel wire of the small diameter we need;
  • ribbon;
  • bell;
  • glue.

1. As always, the work begins with making the base. To make this wreath, we take a ready-made ring or make it ourselves from wire. The diameter of the ring is approximately 15 cm. The ring can be wrapped in green tape or paper so that the gaps are not so noticeable later.

2. Then we string green beads onto a thin green wire 3-3.5 meters long.

3. We twist the following loops from the stringed beads.

Our goal is to get a long ribbon of identical loops

4. We wrap the base with the resulting ribbon, periodically gluing the beaded ribbon and the base. Our simple boring wire became green and fluffy.

5. The next stage is to string large red (you can add blue, silver) beads onto a thin wire.

6. Again we wrap our already green and fluffy base with wire with red beads, beautifully distributing them between the green loops.

7. We string gold beads onto a thin wire 1.5 - 2 meters long. We wrap the resulting beauty around a base with greenery and red beads. Let's make a bow from a red satin ribbon.

The junction of the warp wire must be closed

8. Glue some beautiful leaves on the front side. We wrap the loop of the bell with a loop of ribbon and glue it so that the ribbon loop from the inside covers the junction of the wire. We attach the bell to the leaves from the front side.

9. The final touch: glue a red bow on top.

Congratulations! The beaded wreath is ready. Like?

How to make a wreath of Christmas balls with your own hands

A wreath of Christmas balls is the most beautiful and most New Year's wreath. And you can do it very quickly, in just half an hour.

Provided, of course, that all the necessary materials are on your table:

    • white and blue ribbons;
    • Christmas balls of different sizes;
    • white wreath base;
    • white tinsel;
    • strong white thread.

First of all, we wrap the base of the wreath with white tinsel. To prevent the tinsel from moving, we glue it to the base in several places.

We tie one end of the white thread to our fluffy donut. The thread must be strong enough so that it does not break when we start stringing balls on it.

Let's start decorating the wreath. We string 3 balls, make 2-3 turns of thread around the base and glue it. Next, we string 3 more balls, again make 2-3 turns of thread and glue again. And so on until we decorate the entire bagel.

We make a loop from the ribbons, tie it to the wreath and tie a beautiful bow. Our wreath is ready. Did you do it in half an hour? Great!

Christmas wreath on the door made of tinsel and pine cones

Of course, such a wreath will decorate your home and give it a fabulous and festive mood.

What we need:

      • spruce and pine cones, pre-tinted with white gouache;
      • green tinsel;
      • pearl beads;
      • a garland of red small beads;
      • small bows made of silver ribbon;
      • big red bow;
      • balls of different colors and sizes;
      • balloon with artificial snow.
  1. As the basis for this wreath, we cut out a “donut” from cardboard, the inner diameter of which is 25 cm, the outer diameter is 36 cm. We immediately make a loop from the ribbon and glue it to the cardboard.

2. We wrap the workpiece with green tinsel, gluing it in several places.

3. Where the loop is located, glue a red bow on the front side.

4. We wrap a garland of red beads around the entire wreath.

5. Glue the cones. If necessary, paint them with white gouache again.

6. Distribute the balls over the wreath and glue them.

7. Add a few small bows to the composition. Add pearl beads.

8. Using a balloon with artificial snow, spray the entire surface of the wreath. It is important not to overdo it here, so that instead of frost you end up with a snowdrift.

It turned out great, I just want to praise myself.

Step-by-step instructions for making a felt wreath

Before, I had no idea that Christmas wreaths could be made from anything. I thought that it would be beautiful only if I used balls, cones and spruce branches. But once I saw felt wreaths, I was simply fascinated by them and I want to show some of them to you.

What we use:

    • felt of various colors;
    • beads;
    • ribbons;
    • plus everything your imagination suggests.

Basically, flowers and figures are made from felt, which are then attached to the base. But even the base itself can also be made from felt.
This is how simple flowers are made.

1. Blanks are cut out of felt.

2. Then each petal is sewn together to create an indentation. The petals are sewn to the base of the flower.

3. A beautiful bead is sewn inside each flower.

4. Now we distribute the flowers beautifully over the base, glue them to it, and add leaves of green felt. Of course, don't forget about the loop.
We get such a beautiful and easy-to-make wreath.

Or like this.

I hope that my master class helped you choose the option you like.
Enjoy creativity! Get ready for the holiday with your children!

Health and happiness to everyone in the New Year!

Any holiday, especially New Year and Christmas, requires careful preparation. This is not only about buying gifts for family and friends, a festive feast and a Christmas tree with a bright garland. It is necessary to create a festive atmosphere in your home and . And for this we begin to decorate our home from the very threshold. Today we will make a New Year's wreath with our own hands. And we will definitely attach what we get to the front door. And then decide for yourself, outside or inside!

First you need to think about which materials Your New Year's wreath will be made. Believe me, the choice can be quite wide. Namely:

  • a traditional wreath made of thuja or conifer branches with the addition of various decorations
  • from natural cones
  • from New Year's toys
  • from tinsel
  • organza
  • made of artificial materials imitating the branches of coniferous trees
  • from feathers!

This article will discuss options for making a festive wreath from all of the above materials.

You need to start making a festive wreath from natural branches of coniferous plants by preparing all the necessary materials and tools. A tools you will need simple ones:

  • scissors
  • wire cutters
  • glue gun and glue sticks

Materials you may need:

  • branches of thuja or coniferous tree - spruce, pine, cedar
  • wreath base
  • strong and not too thin threads or twine
  • thin, flexible wire
  • glue "Moment Crystal"
  • Christmas decorations
  • serpentine and tinsel
  • gift paper and gift bows
  • organza
  • feather boas

Making a wreath is impossible without a base on which it will be attached. Therefore, first of all we choose her in order to form a New Year's wreath. Read on to find out which base to choose for your craft.

When the basis for the New Year's wreath has already been chosen, we begin to make the wreath itself. To do this, take one or two small branches of thuja or ephedra and tie them tightly to the base. We secure the thread so that it does not unwind. Next, we sequentially apply the following branches and secure them again. And so we move over the entire surface of the base until it is completely covered with branches and you get a wreath.

The size of the wreath directly depends on the size of the base. For a wreath made from natural branches of coniferous trees, choose a solid base, as the weight of the wreath is impressive.

Such wreaths made from natural materials can be decorated with cones and clusters of autumn berries: viburnum, black and red rowan. Of course, such a wreath will not last long: the berries will wither and wrinkle, and the needles will begin to fall off. Therefore, if you want your New Year’s wreath to be more durable, replace natural ingredients with artificial ones.

Artificial elements often look no worse than natural ones.

How to make a wreath from pine or cedar branches, watch this video.

Needless to say, now everything can be bought in stores. But a wreath made by yourself will still be better, even if, due to inexperience, you make it a little “disheveled.” Handwork in such things is always highly appreciated.

Of course, you often want to decorate a New Year’s wreath with everyone at once. But you shouldn't be too zealous. There must be moderation in everything. Choose something from your existing home:

  • small Christmas toys
  • small “gifts” made of foil
  • bumps
  • bows
  • tapes
  • artificial flowers
  • nuts
  • candies and so on...

Decorating a wreath with pine cones is a simple, affordable and, perhaps, correct option. If you took natural branches for the wreath, then pine cones and matting are what you need for decoration.

Natural pine cones also make very beautiful Christmas wreaths. To make them you will need mainly pine cones. But spruce and smaller alder trees will not be superfluous.

Watch the master class in this video and you can easily make a wreath of pine cones with your own hands.

If you don’t have the time or desire to make the wreath voluminous and large, make a simple version - stick the pine cones in one row on a cardboard hoop, add some decorations. You will get a very nice wreath.

In my opinion, of course, the most beautiful New Year's wreaths are made from pine cones with the addition of berry branches.

If you want something unusual, spray paint the fir branches and cones in the color you like. For example, in blue.

Silver color has always been the embodiment of crisp snow in the cold, fresh air and winter holidays. Nothing changed! Everything goes on!

Another video on this topic.

A wreath of coniferous or thuja branches can decorate not only a door or wall, but also a chandelier!

In addition to a New Year's wreath from pine cones or branches, you can quickly make a wreath from organza and Christmas tree balls. To do this, take the organza to which you will tie and simply tie large bows around it. Organza is a fairly stiff material and holds its shape well. Bright balls can be glued or tied to the base of the wreath.

Imagine and come up with a look his New Year's wreath. Decorate it with something unusual, like pretty feathers!

If you do not use natural materials in an organza wreath, then the wreath can decorate your home for a long time.

Doesn’t this “Santa Claus” cheer you up?

Elegant and yet impressive looking feather wreaths. To make them, they use ready-made feather scarves (also called boas) and Christmas tree balls.

New Year's feather wreaths are something romantic and at the same time delightful. Suitable for dreamy and pure natures.

All this is good when you can buy what you need in stores for the holidays. But it’s another matter when you want to do something similar (and maybe even better) with your own hands. When preparing for the holidays, a pre-holiday mood settles in the house, creating that same atmosphere of home where you want to return. If you feel a craving for creativity during the New Year's Eve, do not suppress this impulse within yourself, but give yourself the opportunity to translate this desire into something significant. For example, do it yourself New Year's wreath made of Christmas tree toys .

You can probably imagine how many different compositions can be assembled from Christmas tree balls! But it can also be a wreath made from a variety of toys that you have at home. Or you can collect only cold (or warm) shades for your craft.

To make a wreath from Christmas tree decorations, you can use any kind and stick balls or icicles on it. Or you can string as many toys on a strong wire as will fit on it. To make the wreath more voluminous, glue the remaining balls with hot glue.

Tinsel wreath can be made quite quickly. We wrap a foam or cardboard base with tinsel and decorate it with a Christmas poinsettia flower. Add figures and beads that you can find at home.

A tinsel wreath does not require a strong and reliable frame. A simple cardboard hoop will be enough.

Use the advice of those who have already made New Year's wreaths with their own hands.

Preparing for the New For many people, the year begins long before the start of the holiday and includes several steps: the external design of the rooms and entrance, the purchase of food and sweets, and the preparation of dishes. In recent years, some Western traditions have begun to be followed when decorating the interior.

As a decoration for the holiday, New Year's wreaths were made mainly by parishioners of the Catholic Church.

For example, decorating a real or simulated fireplace with artificial snow, caramels and knitted socks for gifts. The tradition of decorating the front door with a New Year's wreath is also gaining popularity. This brings warmth and comfort to the house, giving a feeling of celebration to the residents of the house and their guests.

Nowadays, many people are trying to decorate their homes with a wide variety of decorations.

Making such a craft with your own hands is a good option, since you don’t have to buy everything in a store; you can find many useful things in a park, square or forest. Do not be afraid of experiments and creative impulses, then the result will exceed all expectations.

New Year's door wreaths made of branches with pine cones are quite common today and the number of such decorations is only increasing every year.

We make wreaths from pine cones with our own hands

For this version of the New Year's wreath, any cones from any tree will suit us. If you don’t have pine trees, then you can safely take others into account. This will not make the view worse, and it may even turn out better.

In this version we will make artificial Christmas tree branches from paper. If you don’t want to tinker for a long time, then you can easily get by with purchased ones.

We will need:

  • bumps
  • cardboard
  • baking paper (newspaper)
  • A4 paper
  • acrylic paint (green)
  • copper wire
  • Super glue
  • ribbon and beads for decoration

How to do:

1. Cut out a “donut” from cardboard of any size you like. To do this, draw circles on cardboard and cut it out.

2. Using adhesive tape, glue baking paper or old newspaper to the resulting frame.

Before gluing, the paper must be thoroughly crumpled so that it becomes voluminous.

3. The result is a blank like the one in the photo below.

4. Now we paint the A4 sheet green on both sides and let it dry.

5. After that, cut it into strips 3-4 cm wide and move on to the next step.

6. We need to make a fringe from the strips. To do this, we fold the painted strips in several layers and make frequent cuts, approximately 2/3 of the width.

7. Carefully open it so that the workpiece does not tear.

9. We put it on the paper fringe and begin to wrap the wire in paper, gradually going down.

10. Let’s fluff it up a little and get a branch like this.

11. Having made several of these branches, you can collect larger branches by connecting them together.

12. Now we glue the cones with the resulting Christmas tree branches to the base of the wreath.

For beauty, several cones can be painted red, which is what we did.

13. Decorate the finished wreath with beads and tie a ribbon.

That's all! Ready. As you can see, everything is quite easy and simple. And the end result was such a beautiful, festive wreath for the New Year and Christmas.

Wreaths made of burlap and wine corks

The wreath that I want to offer you now will look very good in the kitchen. In addition to corks and burlap, we will use bay leaves, allspice, cinnamon tubes and various nuts. The result is a very fragrant wreath that will fill your kitchen with its aroma.

How to do:

1. First, as always, let's make the base. You can make it from ordinary newspaper, twist it and connect the ends with glue or paper tape. You can also use the first option described in this article.

2. We wrap the workpiece with burlap or decorative mesh, as in our case. Use a glue gun to glue it to the base of the wreath.

3. Now it's time for wine corks. We paste them around the entire perimeter of the future wreath.

4. Let's make a loop from ribbon or some kind of rope. It also needs to be glued with a glue gun, and the free ends should be wrapped around the entire surface of the workpiece.

5. Decorate the wreath with nuts (almonds or walnuts), placing them on glue.

The more nuts, cinnamon and bay leaves, the more festive and beautiful the finished product will look.

6. Next come cinnamon sticks.

7. Our composition will be completed with bay leaves and allspice.

Ready. How do you like this idea?

That's all I have for today. It's up to you. Happy creativity! I will be waiting for your feedback on what and how you did it. Thank you for your time and attention.

Johann Wichern first started hanging Christmas wreaths on doors; he was a Lutheran theologian who taught children about the meaning of church holidays and religion in general. The man was involved in education, more often he took children from poor, needy families, because they more often ran around the streets as street children. Every year during Lent they looked forward to Christmas miracles and constantly asked how long to wait until the holiday.

Therefore, back in 1839, Wichern made the first wreath from an ordinary old wheel, decorating it with 19 red and small candles, also 4 white, but large candles. And every morning, passing by his house, the children saw a new candle burning. Days were marked in red, and white days were lit only on Sundays. The theologian made this New Year’s wreath with his own hands to give hope to people and together count the days until the blessed holiday.

Indeed, Western countries have long adhered to traditions. For them, this is a sign of goodness, light and the approaching holiday. Some make New Year's wreaths with their own hands, others buy ready-made ones.

By the way, it is not at all necessary to make a wreath and then hang it on the front door. You can decorate a wall with it, or a place above a window, under a clock - anything will do. The meaning of the symbol will not change. A wreath for the New Year, especially a small one, will not take up much space.

How to decorate a wreath

You can make a New Year's wreath on the door yourself from any materials. From paper, or from cardboard, maybe even from fabric or traditional, from branches. This is the basis.

You can supplement it with the following materials:

Remember that the main colors of Christmas are dark green and bright red, as well as gold and plain white. By sticking to the right colors, you can make a real traditional wreath.
real berries: viburnum or rowan, also juniper or rose hips, also holly berries.
nuts of any variety, or sliced citrus fruits, orange peel.
anise stars or cinnamon sticks.
various decorations made from cones, then painted silver or golden.
sweets are candies or cookies.
also small toys from the Christmas tree are balls, various stars or snowflakes, snowmen or angels, birds, beads.
ribbons with bows - both plain, checkered or striped.
Candles can be inserted if the wreath is positioned horizontally.
glowing garlands, “rains”.

Yes, a New Year's decoration on a door or wall can be supplemented with edible elements, which can then be carefully pulled out and eaten. Don't worry if you've never made a wreath before. A master class with step-by-step explanations will help explain the process of making crafts.

DIY New Year's tinsel wreath with an angel

Materials and tools:

Wide New Year's rain;
- a small wicker basket;
- glue gun;
- ready-made angel;
- golden beads and decorative boxes for decoration.

Most master classes on creating New Year's wreaths with your own hands offer to make a base from wire, but we decided to use a basket for this purpose, because for us, as noted above, not only the decorative effect is important, but also the possibility of further use.
Using a gun, apply glue to the bottom edge of the basket and glue the rain. We smoothly move to the top side, also apply glue, and lightly press the rain.

We apply a little glue to the bottom of the basket, put a little more rain there and fix it.

The next stage of creating a New Year's tinsel wreath shows how you can lay out decorative beads in the rain, tying them in a knot in front, but here you can unleash your creativity and do as your own imagination dictates. After the beads have been laid out, we apply glue to the rain at several points and securely fasten our decoration.

We also apply glue to the foot of our angel and press it in the basket to fix it well.

We decorate the festive tinsel wreath with decorative gifts glued with glue.

You can create such a New Year's wreath made of tinsel with an angel with your own hands! Note that it is no worse than store-bought!

Using a basket for the base is very beneficial from a practical point of view. Even after the holidays, you can store necessary items in it, or New Year's souvenirs that will remind you of wonderful days spent.

To create such a basket, the decor can be anything - these are balls, bells, and pine cones; instead of an angel, you can put a symbol of the next year or a wide candle. You can also use any base. In general, it is up to your discretion and imagination.

Christmas wreath

All children, as well as all adults, love and look forward to the New Year. But probably what I like most about this holiday is the New Year’s atmosphere itself. When they make all the decorations for the Christmas tree together with the children, when they buy or make souvenirs with their own hands, among which you can make a felt Christmas tree or a Christmas tree toy. Everything brings to mind the time when the New Year comes! When Santa Claus comes with gifts, when the lights on the tree are lit, when we set the table and open a bottle of champagne as the chimes strike. Today we propose to make another attribute of the New Year and Christmas - a DIY Christmas wreath, which you can easily decorate your door at the entrance, thereby calling guests home. Why not stop by when a holiday is waiting at home!

All we need is:

A sheet of cardboard (of any size),
- green threads (cord, braid),
- scarlet satin ribbon,
- golden ribbon,
- golden braid (for bows),
- thread, needle, scissors.

Deciding to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands in three colors: the main one is green, the decoration is scarlet and gold. If you want, you can add anything else you want.
First we will make the base for the wreath. To do this, draw a circle on a sheet of cardboard using, for example, a saucer.

Cut out the middle (circling a circle with a smaller diameter). Let's make a hole where the hanging ribbon is threaded. Next, take the prepared green threads (cord or braid). I found knitting threads in the house, rummage through your bins and you might find something suitable. Now we begin the process of winding threads around the ring. First thread a ribbon pendant through the hole.

We advise you to make not one, but rather several layers, then the wreath will turn out to be more voluminous. Once you decide that you have wound enough, hide the end of the thread between the layers on the wrong side. Next, we begin decorating our Christmas wreath. To do this, take a scarlet satin ribbon and wrap it in a circle.

We also secure the ends of the ribbon on the wrong side with a needle and thread. We do the same with the golden ribbon. To decorate the wreath, we make these bows from decorative (again, golden) braid.

Sew bows to the base.

And here it is, an almost finished Christmas wreath. We think the master class will be useful to you.

It can be hung on the Christmas tree or anywhere else. In general, continue to follow the flight of your own imagination.

More New Year's wreath options

What you need

First of all, you need to choose what the actual New Year's wreath on the door will be made from. Most wreaths are then hung, so all parts must be firmly glued or tied to the base. Accordingly, the base itself should also be strong. What the base is actually made from:

From cardboard - cut out a medium-sized circle from thick cardboard.
made of wire - they are more suitable for wreaths collected from real pine or spruce branches. It is easier to attach branches and other parts of the wreath to the wire.
made of willow twigs - such wreaths are conveniently complemented with small decorations so as not to spoil the integrity of the composition. And there is no need to paint the base in other colors. The natural look of willow twigs gives the best effect. For comparison, check out wicker baskets. Weaving a wreath is quite simple, the main thing is to find a few long willow branches. A country of craftsmen, where people make many things with their own hands, basket weaving begins with wreaths.

Wreath made of pine branches and wire

The size and degree of fluffiness of the wreath will depend on the number and size of branches and the frequency of their attachment to the base.

What you will need:

Strong wire - can be found in special workshops or bought secondhand; they often sell unnecessary ones.
branches - it is not necessary to pick them from the nearest trees on the street, in the park, it is better to buy them at the market. They are inexpensive. They sell both Christmas trees and branches.
materials for fastening - twine or wire, fishing line.
additional decorations.

Manufacturing process

A step-by-step description of the process is not required; you just need to select all the cones for the wreath and place them tightly on the ring, without leaving visible gaps. You can decorate the finished wreath with ribbons and stars. Beautiful and shiny Christmas tree balls will also come in handy.

Paper wreaths

There are a great many of them! And by the way, such wreaths weigh much less and are not scary to move later, so they are easy to hang on a frequently used door. A paper wreath is not a product made from simple sheets wrapped around a ring.

Wreath of voluminous stars

Made from paper leaves, although to add a winter touch, you can replace the leaves with snowflakes. A musician's wreath made from folded sheet music!

This is how you can give a gift to your friends who are lovers of music or philosophy - print out a few pieces of paper with quotes from great people and roll them into tubes. And decorate the center with a photo of some famous classicist or philosopher. They will clearly appreciate it. To make such splendor, you don’t need a detailed step-by-step master class, you just need to prepare the necessary materials, and the principle of operation is already visible in the photo.

Ideas like this always inspire creative people because it pays attention to their passion. Artists are given paints, poets are given books of poetry. Anyone can quickly make a wreath from paper or napkins, because such materials are available in any home.

Christmas balls

You can make a beautiful, bright wreath from. You will need to first cut out a tight ring, then select a dozen balls. It is better to take a set of plastic ones so that the wreath does not turn out too heavy or fragile.

The wider the ring, the larger the finished wreath will be. You can additionally decorate with ribbons, but you don’t need to overdo it, the balls are already bright and colorful. They need to be attached one at a time using good glue.

The finished craft looks beautiful in any setting. You can also give your wreath to your loved ones; say that the Christmas balls will fill the room with colors and improve your mood!
