Before the New Year holidays there is always a lot of bustle and preparation. As a rule, they start a week earlier, because all kindergartens traditionally hold New Year's parties. The snowflake dress has always been one of the most popular among girls. Every young fashionista wants to wear a snowflake costume to a matinee and be the most beautiful. If you didn’t have time to purchase a ready-made dress in advance or just want to make a snowflake costume for your daughter with your own hands, you will need a little fabric and just one evening.
This master class is very suitable for those mothers who have absolutely no idea about sewing, but really want to prepare a beautiful holiday dress for their daughter. Before you start sewing a snowflake costume, prepare everything you need:
That's all the simple preparations you'll need for the snowflake dress. Now let's look at step by step how to make an outfit for a girl without a sewing machine:
1. Cut strips of tulle 25 cm wide and 50 cm long. You will need about 36 such pieces.
2. Take the strip and fold it like an accordion. We pin it with a pin. It’s convenient to prepare all the tulle strips at once to make things go faster.
3. Before you start “sewing” the snowflake costume, measure the required length of the elastic and try it on the girl’s waist.
4. Now we simply tie the accordion with an elastic band.
5. To make the New Year's snowflake costume lush and festive, try to tie the tulle with an elastic band as tightly as possible.
6. This is what you should end up with when all the strips are tied.
7. Next, we will make our own headdress for the snowflake costume. We take the most ordinary headband. We will make a crown out of it. We cut tulle strips 10 cm long and 3 cm wide. You will need 50-60 such strips.
8. We will make the headdress using the same technique as the snowflake dress. We just tie the strips very tightly to each other. It is better to tie it with a double knot.
9. The result will be approximately the following.
New Year's snowflake costume- one of the most common. It’s quite simple to create; any white dress will do, because the snowflakes are white, and a little tinsel for decoration. And to give the costume a unique, unique twist, you can make a headdress - snowflake hat.
This accessory looks mature, stylish and very unusual. , will surely please the little one " snowflake" And it will take up nothing at all from mom’s time. The master class was prepared by Elena.
Materials for work:
thin cardboard;
crepe satin;
glass beads, sequins, beads;
tulle;
barrette.
We make the base of the hat from thin cardboard. This will be a circle. A saucer will help draw it evenly. You just need to choose the right size. Photo 3.
Cut out the circle with scissors. Photo 4.
Apply the circle to a piece of crepe satin. The fabric should protrude two centimeters beyond the base. Cut out another circle. Place the cardboard (preferably light side down) on the wrong side of the crepe-satin. We sew the edges with wide stitches and tighten them, distributing the folds evenly. We fasten the thread. The result was a circle covered with fabric. Photo 5.
Cut off a strip of tulle. We calculate the length of this strip as follows: we measure the circumference of the base, which we made in the previous step, and multiply it by two. This will allow you to make beautiful folds. The width is determined by eye. Here it is 8 cm. Fold the tulle in half, sew it with simple stitches, and tighten it a little. Photo 6.
Sew the tulle frill to the wrong side of the hat. The open area must be closed. To do this we use a fabric circle. We sew it to the base with hidden stitches, while bending the edges inward. Photo 7.
We embroider a snowflake on the front side of the hat. To do this, we create a symmetrical pattern of glass beads and sequins. We sew the latter with beads. Photo 8.
We sew a hairpin to the bottom of the hat. We use strong threads to match the hat. Photo 9.
Snowflake hat ready, your work will certainly be appreciated by everyone who will be at this matinee or concert!

If your little one is a fan of Anna and Elsa, a snowflake costume for the New Year can be made to include costumes for the main characters.
The snowflake costume without a skirt is suitable for both girls and boys. This New Year's look can be made from a fur vest, a muff and a decorative snowflake that can be attached to the back. White shorts and knee socks will complement this snowflake costume.
From large decorative snowflakes, which can be found in various stores, you can make original wings for a snowflake costume.
As you can see, making a unique and quite original snowflake costume with your own hands is very simple. In this New Year's outfit, your little one will be a real star of the party.
A headdress for Snowflake’s outfit is one of the concerns for the little girl’s family. Today we will figure out how to make a decoration for a snowflake on your head as simply and quickly as possible.
We will use a purchased snowflake for the Christmas tree, it is much easier than using scrap materials.
So, we need:
The purchased snowflake was not shiny enough. You can add glitter around the edges. To do this, use a glue gun to place a drop of glue on the tip of the ray of a snowflake, and sprinkle glitter on top.
We glue sequins around the snowflake.
Now you need to cut out the base for the bandage. We measure the circumference of the child's head (at the location of the future location of the bandage). To this value we add 2 cm for the seams. We cut out a strip of fabric, 51 cm long, 4 cm wide.
We bend the strip lengthwise and secure it with pins or basting.
We sew a strip along the entire length using a machine, departing from the edge about 0.5 cm.
Using scissors (or a pencil), turn the resulting “tube” right side out.
Gently smooth the bandage with an iron, leaving the seam at the bottom.
We thread an elastic band through the bandage; its length is slightly less than the circumference of the child’s head.
Pull both ends out and secure them together with a pin.
Cut out a small square from felt (or fleece).
Fold it in half twice. Almost like a leaf for cutting out snowflakes from paper.
We make small cuts on the sides.
We unfold it and it turns out to be an impromptu snowflake. It will be needed to strengthen the structure on the bandage.
Glue sequins into the felt snowflake.
And glue both snowflakes together with a gun. Above is a purchased one, below is a felt snowflake.
We sew our snowflake to the headband with matching threads.
We sew not only the middle, but also the sides. This way the snowflake will not dangle and will be well secured.
On the front side, we additionally grab the middle of the snowflake with threads.
Now we sew the edges of the elastic together.
And we sew up the edges of the bandage by hand, carefully folding them inward.
The decoration for the Snowflake's head is ready. This bandage holds well during dancing and games and does not dangle. And, of course, it complements well the image of a girl in a Snowflake costume.
