Most current question for everyone planning a vacation - what to take with you. After all, you need to take into account every little thing, including UV cream and a first aid kit, and also redo all your affairs so as not to worry about your beloved cat, cacti on the window and unpaid bills on vacation. So, what do you need to remember when going on vacation?

What to do before your trip - a list of important things to do before traveling

So that you don’t have to frantically call your neighbors and relatives as soon as you jump out of the train (descending the plane’s steps), remember in advance about your most important matters:

  • Settle all financial issues. This applies to paying bills, debts, loans, etc. Of course, if you have a computer and access to the network, you can, on occasion, pay bills from anywhere in the world, but it is better to do this in advance. You can also leave a statement with your housing office so that your rent can be recalculated due to your absence. Just don’t forget tickets, receipts and other evidence that you were not in the apartment.
  • Complete all your work tasks, if you don’t want to hear the voice of your superiors while lying on a sun lounger on the seashore.
  • Get your home in order(including washing clothes in a basket). So that when you return from vacation, you don’t have to clean up.
  • Check the refrigerator. It is better to give away all perishable products.
  • Make an agreement with relatives(friends or neighbors) so that one of them waters your flowers and feeds the cat. If you don’t have an agreement with anyone, you can buy a watering machine and take the cat to a hotel for animals or to stay with friends for a while.
  • Take care of protecting your apartment while you are away. Ideal option- alarm, but it would be nice to agree with your neighbors so that they keep an eye on your house, and at the same time get your mail. Just in case, try not to talk too much about your departure (neither to friends, nor on social sites), close the windows tightly, and take the most valuable things and money for safekeeping with relatives or in a safe deposit box.
  • It is worth taking into account force majeure cases- flood, fire, etc. Therefore, leave the keys to the apartment to those neighbors you trust in this case.

Also don't forget:

  • Get vaccinated, if you are going to an exotic country.
  • Learn about safety precautions in this country. And at the same time about what can be imported and exported, and what is prohibited by law.
  • Check all electrical appliances, electricity, gas, water before leaving. You can even turn off the electricity completely if you want to play it safe.
  • Charge your phone, laptop, e-book.
  • Put money on your phone and inquire about roaming.
  • Get a manicure, pedicure, hair removal.
  • Place all documents in a bag(not under a heap of things at the bottom of the suitcase).
  • Leave your relatives with your coordinates.
  • Write down phone numbers of organizations, which you can contact in case of force majeure while on vacation.
  • Collect information about places, which you want to visit, and about places where it is better not to go.

Don’t forget to take documents and money on vacation - add everything you need to the list

Regarding documents, don't forget to make photocopies of them– There’s absolutely no point in carrying originals with you to the beach. But you can stick it on the folder with the originals (just in case) a sticker with your coordinates and a promise of reward to the finder.

In addition to your passport, do not forget:

  • The ticket itself and all the papers/directories from travel agencies.
  • Cash, plastic cards.
  • Insurance.
  • Doctor's prescriptions if you require special medications.
  • Train/plane tickets.
  • Driver license if available (in case you want to rent a car).
  • If your baby is traveling with you, his birth certificate with citizenship stamp and permission from the second parent.
  • Hotel reservation.

What medications to take on vacation - a travel first aid kit for all occasions

You can't do without a first aid kit on vacation. Of course, it’s good if it’s not needed, but it’s impossible to predict everything.

What should I put in it?

  • Adsorbents(enterosgel, act/coal, smecta, etc.).
  • Analgesics and antispasmodics.
  • Remedies for fever, colds, burns and allergies.
  • Antibiotics.
  • Anti-diarrhea medications, bloating.
  • Corn and regular plasters, iodine, bandages, hydrogen peroxide.
  • Itching relievers from insect bites.
  • Anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Anti-nausea pills and laxatives.
  • Cardiovascular drugs.
  • Enzyme products(mezim, festal, etc.).

What to take on a trip - list of hygiene items and cosmetics

As for cosmetics, each girl decides individually what she might need on vacation. Besides decorative cosmetics(preferably one that protects against UV rays), you should not forget:

  • Disinfectants.
  • Products for feminine hygiene.
  • Napkins, cotton pads.
  • Special foot cream, which after excursion trips will relieve fatigue.
  • Perfume/deodorant, brush paste, shampoo, etc.
  • Thermal water.

Adding tech accessories and electronics to the list of what to take on a trip

In our time, we cannot do without technology. Therefore, do not forget:

  • Phone and its charger.
  • Camera (+ charging, + clean memory cards).
  • Laptop + charger.
  • Navigator.
  • Flashlight with batteries.
  • Electronic book.
  • Adapter for sockets.

List of things to do at sea - don’t forget to take beach accessories on vacation

For a holiday on the beach we fold separately:

  • Swimsuit (preferably 2) and flip-flops.
  • Panama hat and sunglasses.
  • Sunscreens.
  • Insect repellents.
  • Beach mat or air mattress.
  • Beach bag.
  • Things that will brighten up your beach holiday(crosswords, book, knitting, player, etc.).

What extra things to take on a trip?

Well, you may additionally need:

  • Comfortable shoes for excursions.
  • Clothes for every occasion(go out into the world, climb mountains, lie in bed in the room).
  • Dictionary/phrase book.
  • Umbrella.
  • An inflatable pillow for the road.
  • A small cosmetic bag for small items(tokens, batteries, etc.).
  • A bag for souvenirs/new items.

And most importantly, don’t forget to leave all your fatigue, problems and grievances at home. Just take it on vacation positive and good mood!

Quite often, the most unpleasant part of the journey is the long and cumbersome preparations. Or fast and stupid. I know those who carefully prepare for a trip for a week, thinking through every detail, and those who get ready on the day of departure, forgetting half of it. Do you recognize yourself?

I have been preparing for the trip for years. Every time after returning from a trip, starting with a trip to Crimea in 1998, I wrote “Lists of things for the trip based on the results of the last trip.” And the next time I set out on the road, I always used the previous list. She opened her notebook and with a pen put a tick in front of the item packed in her luggage.
Over the past 15 years, a lot of lists have accumulated. Anyway, the brown notepad is over. The lists differ from each other because the trips themselves differ: the number and set of things for a three-week trip differs from the list of things for a two- and three-day trip. Also, traveling by train, bus and car involves slightly different sets and distribution of things. What is distribution? This is packing things in different bags: luggage (which will be removed and will remain untouched during the move to your destination), bag(s) with you (what you will use on the trip).

Advertising - club support

Due to the nature of my work, I traveled quite a lot. Over time, numerous lists resulted in one standard list things that you can put together in 1 hour, provided that you are traveling small family(this, of course, cannot be done in an hour) and provided that the clothes are in the closet, washed and ironed, just take out a pile. Because “work” with clothes is the most time-consuming. We always keep our clothes (and shoes!) in combat (clean!) readiness if you are an avid traveler.
So, I present to you a simple and “quick” list of things to collect for a trip (trip, road). Prepare your bag (suitcase), print out the list, fold your items and put a mark next to each item.
P.S. Care and hygiene products can be packaged together in one bag. The same goes for medications. Try to arrange items so that those closest to their purpose are located together, so it will be convenient to find them and unpack them on the spot.

Food

I don’t write a food list because it’s very individual. You can take fruits, nuts, dried fruit, cookies, candy, a couple of packages of cold cuts, bread, as well as a lot of water and various drinks like Lipton and green tea.
We prefer to eat in a cafe, so that we can feed the child soup, and not sit on dry food ourselves. Food while traveling should be tasty and safe.

This list is quite general - both for those traveling by car and for those traveling by train. For those traveling by bus, you need to take additional things, but I will make a separate post about this.
For those who travel with children, read the posts:

Have a good suitcase mood and speedy packing!!!

Before any trip, the question arises of what to take with you on the trip, so that on the one hand there are no unnecessary things and excess luggage, and on the other hand, everything is at hand.
We share our accumulated experience, life hacks for packing suitcases, and lists of necessary things for ourselves and our children.

When going somewhere even for a short time, for two or three days, it’s easy to get carried away and gain too much. Girls will understand me. The list of things to do on vacation is an endless struggle with yourself and torment about what to take with you on a trip and what to leave, everything you need and you want to take everything at once. I hope our lists from today’s article will help you, at least every time I have to check them and post what you can easily do without on vacation.

Preparing for the trip - a list of things to do on vacation

If you're the type who packs everything on the last day, try to break tradition and start preparing for your trip ahead of time.
Preparing for an independent trip takes a lot of time and effort, because you need to choose and buy plane tickets , , find a hotel , study information about the place where you are going.

It’s also worth writing a list of things for your vacation in advance. For this purpose, I simply open a notebook and write down everything that comes to mind for several days in a row. Then I sort and throw out what
which won't be useful.

What to take with you on a trip?

The first thing you should check are documents, bank cards, money, visas, tickets.
It is best to have a small handbag or wallet on a string where you can put your documents and hang it around your neck.
Thus, the likelihood that you will forget it, get robbed or lose it is minimal. hang your handbag under your clothes, jacket or sweater.

What to take with you on vacation? - going to the airport

Foreign passports and their copies. If you are a family of travelers with children, then let one person have the original passports, tickets and other important documents that will be needed on the trip. Moms or dads.
Don't forget to make electronic versions of documents as well.

It is better to print out hotel reservations in advance, even if they are not required.

Printouts of e-tickets are usually not needed, but if you take copies and other printouts with you, make those at the same time.

Data on all tickets, passports, reservations, insurance and other things - take a photo and send it to your email, save it in cloud storage, take a screenshot, whatever, so that if you lose everything, you have at least something left.

You must have cash. Let it be dollars or euros + national currency. You will need rubles at the airport to pay for a taxi or other small items. Dollars or euros upon arrival.
Abroad, large bills are exchanged at a higher rate, but if you are traveling to a country where you can pay in dollars, then take small bills as well.

There are several bank cards. Debit and credit. Several bank cards are needed because our banks like to suddenly block a card while you are abroad; cards tend to get lost, demagnetized and eaten by an ATM. 3-4 cards is optimal.

Phrasebook (mini version), notepad with pen. The phrasebook can be downloaded to your tablet or phone, as well as a map of the area. Now there are many cards that work even without the Internet.

If you have a driver's license, take that too. If something happens, you can rent a car abroad or simply use it as a document instead of a passport.

Don't know where to buy air tickets at the lowest prices? Look at Aviasales And Skyscanner .
To find air tickets at the lowest price, you should check both search engines and compare prices for different arrival and departure dates.

List of things for vacation - first aid kit

What medications should you take with you on a trip? And is it necessary to do this?

In my opinion, a first aid kit is simply necessary when traveling. It doesn’t matter how many days you are leaving for - one or a month, you should definitely take the most necessary medications with you on your trip.
Not because we are greedy or stupid, but in many countries it is impossible to buy medicine without a prescription.
Usually medical care needed at the most inopportune moment, most often at night, and even more so if you have children with you - at least a minimum set of medications should be in the travel first aid kit. Sometimes there is simply no time and opportunity to look for a pharmacy, at night, on a weekend, in the outskirts of civilization - anything can happen.

First aid kit for a trip - list

I advise you to divide your first aid kit into the “essentials” and what can be stowed in your luggage.
First, we take what we carry in our hand luggage and take it with us everywhere on the road.

On a trip it is better to take with you:

Antipyretic and painkillers
Anti-diarrhea medications
From poisoning
Broad spectrum antibiotics
Allergy remedies
From motion sickness
For injuries
Ocular and ear drops
Individual medications for chronic diseases
Personal hygiene items

Equipment while traveling - list of things to do on vacation

What else should you take with you on your trip? Of course, technology. Laptops, iPads, phones and cameras.

I only take a laptop and a large camera if I'm going to work. If it's an entertainment trip, I make do with the phone.

If you are going somewhere for at least 3 weeks to a month, then you should take with you on your trip:

Laptop + charger

Mobile phone+charger+headphones+powerbank or extra battery

Camera - if you are a photographer, you need photos for work or in general, don’t think without it. Otherwise, think a hundred times. Cameras, chargers, and cables weigh a lot, I’m too lazy to carry them around, and often get lost.

You can also take a flash drive and a removable hard drive. Many hotels have TVs with a USB input, so instead of dull news, you can watch movies while traveling.

Place all wires, chargers and other small items in a separate bag.
This does not apply to headphones, phone charging, or the phone itself.

What to take on a trip with you from clothes and shoes

If all of the above were flowers, then now there will be “berries”.
clothes and shoes are sore spot every woman. But let's gather our will and take only what we need.

Girls! If you are traveling to a country that is famous for its inexpensive textiles and interesting and exciting shopping (like Thailand or Vietnam), take the minimum.
In the same Thailand, India, there is no place to go to cocktail dresses on 20 cm heels. Only make local roosters and hens laugh while hobbling along the off-road.

The clothes you take with you on a trip should be comfortable, light and utilitarian.
If you still cannot do without elegant dress, well, take one, the easiest one.

The list of clothes and shoes is as follows:

Several T-shirts + shorts-skirt
Lightweight pants
One dress
Jacket with sleeves.
Several pairs of underwear + socks
Swimsuit/swimming trunks - if you are going to the sea
Try to choose everything so that it fits together.
If you are traveling to a hot country in winter, this set will be enough. Moreover, you will buy something else anyway.
For winter country a completely different list.

Shoes you should take on vacation: when going to the sea - flip-flops, closed tennis shoes or Converse, or sneakers.
All. Take some light shoes if you can’t resist carrying a hundred thousand cocktail dresses.

What to take on a trip - hygiene

Men should take shaving set and, perhaps, that's all :)

Girls, pull yourself together and don’t throw everything at hand into your makeup bag.
The easiest way to determine whether you need something or not is by how often you use it. Every day?
Then let's take it. Once a year? Has it just been standing there for 3 years and waiting for its trip? - you shouldn’t drag something like that.

All cosmetic stores, large supermarkets, IKEA and others sell cosmetic bags with empty bottles for travel kits.
I have Ikea jars into which I usually pour my favorite shampoo and conditioner. Exactly 100 mg, as allowed in hand luggage.
The rest are mini sets. Also remember all your tubes and jars that you brought from past hotel trips, you can use them too.

So, the list of things to do on vacation - hygiene:

Wet wipes + pads
Toothpaste+brush
Shaving accessories
Shampoo, body cream, hand cream, sample lotion
Dry wipes
Liquid antiseptic - especially if children are traveling with you
Several empty small bags for trash
Mini deodorant solid stick or crystal
Comb
Eyebrow curler+nail clippers+file file
Mirror
Sunglasses

No matter how well your first aid kit is packed, you definitely need to buy insurance on your trip. Everywhere abroad, seeking medical care is very expensive, but insurance purchased online is, on the contrary, cheap.
So we recommend the service, where you can choose and compare among the 16 best insurance companies,
choose an insurance policy based on your requirements and parameters best price.

Little things worth taking on a trip

Depending on where you are going, you may want to take some small items with you:

lighter, matches, mosquito and insect fumigator, flashlight, steelyard, boiler, thread and needle, tape, extension cord, adapter for sockets. You can also have collapsible spoon mugs with you.

Packaging life hacks: it’s better to roll things up in rollers, and put something small or breakable in the rollers themselves.
Anything that might leak should be securely packed in foil and cling film on top.

List of things to take on a plane

You should take small dry snacks with you on the plane, such as nuts, dried fruits and even sandwiches.
While you stand in lines, go through all the controls, hurry and wait for someone to feed you, a lot of time will pass, more than 4 hours, during which time you will definitely get hungry.

If you have children flying with you, then the list of things for your vacation can and should be greatly expanded. Read below about what to take with you on a trip with children.

Don't forget about the rules for carrying items in hand luggage. Don't give gifts to border guards. Do not take any liquids with you that exceed 100 mg.
If you have a 200 gram bottle of perfume that is 10% full, then it will also be taken away.
The maximum capacity of a bottle, container, jar should be 100 mg.
You can take 10 bottles of 100 mg each, that is, a liter, in your hand luggage.

About what you can and cannot take in hand luggage in the article - What can and cannot be taken on a plane?

Traveling with a child

Documents, powers of attorney (if necessary), all this first.

Choose your clothes so that if something happens, you have a couple more sets on hand to replace. Including you. Children love to burp, spit, and sneeze porridge on their mother in the midst of a trip.
Diapers, several - if the child is small.

It is allowed for a child to take on the plane the food and drink he is used to. So if the baby bottle is 200mg, it will be missed.

A must-have entertainment for your child on the plane. Let it be a lot of different ages.
Laces, rustling toys, books, drawing games, puzzles, and of course a tablet with cartoons.
Of course, I think that watching cartoons for hours is harmful for children, but sometimes you can’t do without it.
Prepare all sorts of poems, riddles, finger games and puzzles. On the plane you will be the favorite animator.

It’s also worth taking snacks for children - cookies, snacks, sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, drinks.

What should you not take with you on a trip?

I understand that parting with many things is difficult.

But you shouldn’t take bulky things like a hairdryer or iron with you on a trip.
Even if your hotel is simple and does not provide a hairdryer and iron in each room, you can always ask for one at the reception.

Don't take paper books. Download audiobooks or electronic books to your phone and tablet.

Don't take it expensive jewelry and in general, everything is expensive. On a trip, everything often gets lost, stolen and disappeared.
If your trip is for tourism, then diamonds will only be an excuse for profit and will do more harm than good.

How to save money on a hotel or apartment on vacation?

I'm looking on the Rumguru website. It contains absolutely all discounts on hotels and apartments from 30 booking systems, including booking. I often find it very profitable options, it turns out to save from 30 to 80%

How to save on insurance?

Insurance abroad is required. Any appointment is very expensive and the only way to avoid paying out of pocket is to choose an insurance policy in advance. We have been applying for many years on the website, which gives the best prices for insurance and selection along with registration takes only a couple of minutes.

Preparing for your trip

No matter how experienced a traveler you are, don’t leave everything until the last day - start preparing for your vacation in advance. Sometimes it’s better to do this much in advance if the trip is planned not for a week, but for much more longer period. Choosing insurance, developing a route, obtaining visas, booking accommodation, studying information about the country (prices, food, transport, etc.), buying currency and resolving issues with bank cards - all this will take a lot of time.

We also recommend making a list of things for your trip in advance: take a piece of paper, divide it into categories and write down everything that comes to mind. Write down everything you remember for one or two days - this way you will definitely not forget a single little thing. Checked! You can use special smartphone apps, but we prefer a regular notepad. Once compiled, the list can subsequently be used many times, using it as a basis - only minor details will change.

What to take with you on vacation?

Cards, money, documents

The first and most important thing you need to take with you on a trip is documents and money. This is the most important thing when traveling - keep it close to your heart. It is better to have a small handbag or backpack that you will always carry with you and take in your hand luggage when flying.

So, what to take with you on vacation:

  1. Foreign passports and their copies. In general, keep copies of all documents on your phone, flash drive, cloud storage/virtual drive, or on email- it’s better to play it safe and choose several options at once. These copies may be needed if the originals are lost.
  2. hotel/apartment reservations.
  3. Printouts and electronic options air tickets.
  4. Prints and electronic versions insurance. Don’t forget a vaccination certificate, if required (for example, a number of African countries will not allow you to enter without an original yellow fever vaccination certificate).
  5. Bank cards(it’s better to have several cards and accounts from different banks). Life hack: keep money in accounts, not on cards, and transfer money via online banking immediately before withdrawal (preferably using a VPN, we’ll talk about this below). In this case, if the card is stolen, it will be empty, since all the money will be stored in the account.
  6. Some cash. Cash should always be at hand - and in the currency of the country where you are. For example, during our trip we twice forgot to exchange the euros we had for local dirhams in advance, because of this right moment had to dodge to exchange currency - once late evening in Casablanca, from street money changers through the mediation of the police, the second - also in the evening, only this time in the Sahara, near the Algerian border, from the residents of the village in which we were supposed to spend the night.
  7. Small format notebook with your notes and notes, pen and pencil. It can be used for communication and bargaining.
  8. It won't hurt either phrasebook.
  9. Download to your mobile phone or tablet programs with offline maps, for example OSMAnd or Maps.Me. Find out what else can be useful when traveling.
  10. International driver's license and license (power of attorney), as well as car documents, “green card”, registration certificate and inspection ticket, etc. when traveling in your own car.

First aid kit

The first aid kit is perhaps the most important thing on a trip. Forgetting a first aid kit at home is more expensive because you will have to fork out money abroad (and you simply cannot buy some medicines, since they are not sold without a prescription).

Lifehack: We usually create two first aid kits (and we advise you), in one - only the most necessary medications, which we carry with us (for example, for allergies), in the second - all the rest. This is especially true if you are going to the jungle or other unsafe places.

List of medications you need to take with you on your trip:

  • painkillers;
  • antidiarrhea medications;
  • antipyretics;
  • cold symptom relievers;
  • antiallergic drugs;
  • antibiotics;
  • individual medications for chronic diseases;
  • remedies for injuries;
  • motion sickness remedies;
  • medicines for snake and insect bites;

You can apply for insurance for a tourist trip online on the website - the service is convenient because it searches for several large insurance companies at once and allows you to select a policy according to the required parameters and the best price.

Technique

Everything here is individual: someone takes nothing but mobile phone and cameras, and someone fills their backpack to capacity with equipment.

What we think is worth taking:

  • laptop if you need it for work;
  • mobile phone;
  • player;
  • a camera (preferably not a bulky DSLR with several large lenses; if desired, you can replace it with a mobile phone with a good camera if you are not a professional photographer);
  • e-book.

We also take an external hard drive, a flash drive and small speakers. We usually don’t buy a SIM card - you can communicate for free via Skype, Viber, WhatsApp and similar applications.

If you are driving a car, a navigator will come in handy.

Lifehack 1: We have a special bag for all wires (chargers, USB cords) so they don’t get lost - very convenient. We always take all the gadgets, along with a bag for cables, into the cabin of the plane - if the luggage is lost, the equipment will remain with us.

Lifehack 2: do not connect to an unsecured public network, it is better to use VPN. All public networks in hotels, hostels, cafes, shopping centers, etc. should be considered unsafe.

List of personal care and cosmetics items

As for personal hygiene items and cosmetics, the list of things to take on a trip can be endlessly long if you don’t stop yourself in time from trying to take with you the entire arsenal of decorative cosmetics and other cosmetic items. Believe me, the minimum set is enough - new impressions from the trip, tanning and sunglasses will replace your cosmetics.

List of things to take with you on vacation:

  • toothpaste and brush;
  • shaving accessories;
  • manicure scissors/nail clippers, whichever is more convenient for you;
  • comb;
  • deodorant (preferably solid);
  • wet wipes;
  • disposable handkerchiefs;
  • shampoo (2 in 1) in samples or small tube;
  • A little toilet paper and paper napkins;
  • roll of disposable plastic bags- an extremely useful thing for a trip; it will always come in handy on the road;
  • paper bags if you get motion sickness.

Additionally for women:

  • A little cotton swabs and discs, sponge;
  • pocket mirror;
  • moisturizer;
  • eyebrow tweezers;
  • decorative cosmetics (lipstick and lip gloss, pencil/eyeliner, mascara, foundation);
  • makeup remover;
  • feminine hygiene products;
  • pumice for keratinized skin of the feet (especially important in southern countries).

Those who wear contact lenses will need a container and solution for lenses; those who wear glasses, take spare ones just in case (glasses break and get lost - we have encountered this more than once). Don't forget about sunglasses.

This is, perhaps, the minimum of things that you can take with you on a trip. It is better to pour makeup remover and shampoo into special 100 ml tubes - you can buy a so-called travel kit. It will come in handy if you are traveling to independent travel, because not all hotels offer free toiletries. Well, already abroad it is easy to buy something that is running out or not taken - for example, body and face scrub, shower gel, and so on.

Be careful with liquids carried into the airplane cabin- the volume of one tube of liquid should not exceed 100 ml, and the total volume - 1 liter. All liquids must be packaged in a clear plastic bag. In general, we recommend checking in almost all hygiene items in luggage, except wet wipes, combs, mirrors, hygienic lipstick, toilet paper, paper and plastic bags - they may come in handy. Feel free to check everything else in your luggage - you’re unlikely to need shampoo during the flight, right?

Clothes and shoes

The choice of clothes and shoes when traveling should be approached with all responsibility. Think carefully about your wardrobe so that you don’t end up with nothing to wear with shoes or a dress.

In general, the list of things for a trip is individual, but there are general recommendations. First, dress for the season and carefully read the weather forecast and climate conditions of the country you are traveling to. In case of rainy and cold weather(or if this is a feature of the country/region/season) should be taken waterproof shoes and a raincoat.

Secondly, you should not pack a lot of clothes and shoes - practice shows that almost half of the things taken on a trip are not worn (especially in southern countries). You will bitterly regret taking a dozen dresses and the same number of pairs of stilettos, only if you are not going to attend social events every evening. In addition, on vacation, most likely, you will not resist buying clothes - leave room for them in your suitcase.

Thirdly, try to take only those things that can be combined. Why do you need a thing when traveling if it doesn’t go with anything?

Fourthly, choose only those clothes in which you will feel comfortable, which do not restrict, do not pinch or rub. You should not take unworn shoes - they will cause blisters. We take old shoes, which we don’t mind throwing away if something happens, and during a trip we change it for a new one if the old one is torn.

Don't forget about a hat if you're going to hot and sunny countries. It is better to take a cap, as hats get very wrinkled. Or purchase a hat on the spot.

What clothes should you take with you on a trip:

  • trousers/jeans (in hot countries, light and light ones are suitable, trousers are especially relevant in Muslim countries);
  • breeches/shorts;
  • a couple of T-shirts and/or T-shirts;
  • a couple of shirts;
  • sweater;
  • windbreaker;
  • light sneakers/sneakers (it’s better to wear them);
  • shoes/sandals/ballet flats;
  • flip-flops;
  • swimming trunks/swimsuit if you are going to the sea;
  • several changes of underwear;
  • several pairs of socks.

What else should you take with you on vacation?

The list can also include such necessary and useful things for traveling as:

  • Swiss knife;
  • corkscrew;
  • lighter and matches;
  • fumigator;
  • thread and needle;
  • pins;
  • small flashlight;
  • adapter for various types sockets, as well as a tee or compact extension cord (relevant for those who leave for a long time and take a lot of equipment with them);
  • a cloth napkin (or a microfiber towel that absorbs moisture well);
  • toothpicks;
  • tape or cling film for wrapping a backpack at the airport and so on - in general, something that can make life much easier.

The things listed in this list, although it is not necessary to take on a trip, are still very desirable - they will come in handy at the right time.

In addition to all of the above, we always have two plastic mugs and forks, a teaspoon, a camp kettle-boiler and a coffee pot - thanks to these items you can save on drinks and prepare them at any time.

Despite the impressive list of things to take on a trip, when correct installation all this (and even more) easily fits into a 45 liter backpack (for each person). It’s better to pack things in a suitcase and backpack with rollers, so they won’t get too wrinkled, and some of the things can be stuffed into shoes and filled with empty spaces.

Don't forget about food for the road - something nutritious, such as dried fruits and nuts, as well as water. It is also useful to have a couple of tea bags, coffee and sugar for the first evening at the hotel.

What to take on a trip with a child

If you are traveling with children, the number of things you need for your trip will increase significantly. Here you won’t get away with a small suitcase: you need to take care of what to do with the child on the plane and on vacation, choose clothes for all occasions, and if the child is small, solve the issue of food, and so on.

So, what to take on a trip with a child?

  • Documents: The child’s photo must be pasted into the parent’s passport or he must have his own passport, a visa and medical insurance must be issued for him. If a child travels with only one parent, have permission to travel from the other parent.
  • Clothes: choose clothes in such a way that there is always a change if the child gets dirty or tears the clothes. It's better to have a light and warm sweaters for unforeseen cases.
  • First aid kit(all the same medications as described above, plus individual medications for the child if there are chronic diseases).
  • Toys: think about what you can take your child on a trip to organize his leisure time - for example, take a tablet with downloaded movies and games, a coloring book, and a few favorite toys.
  • Going: cookies, chopped fruit, water and juice.
  • For small children It is worth taking absorbent diapers, antibacterial wipes, paper tissues, a small blanket and spare diapers, a light blouse (air conditioning is often on the plane), a kangaroo backpack or a folding stroller. Prepare baby food for the first time, until you get used to the new place and find a supermarket.

What not to take with you on a trip

We understand that you want to take a lot of necessary and useful things with you on a trip, without which, it seems, all the pleasure of traveling will disappear. But you need to look at things soberly and ruthlessly cross off from the list what you can easily do without or what can be replaced with something on the spot.

Hairdryer

Girls will understand how difficult it is without him. However, remember that many hotels have it. If you are going on a budget independent trip, it makes sense to cut your hair so that your hair does not require styling, or you can put your hair in a ponytail/braid/and so on. Well, if it’s important for you to have a hairdryer, take a travel one.

Iron

Travel iron - very convenient thing when traveling, but you can easily do without it. Firstly, let your wardrobe contain items made from materials that do not wrinkle too much. If the item is wrinkled, hang it in the bathroom while you take a shower - the steam will smooth it out a little. You can also sprinkle it with water and hang it on hangers to dry. In many hotels you can borrow an iron from the reception desk.

Books

Books are heavy and take up a lot of space. It is much easier to take an e-reader, tablet or read from a mobile phone (which is what I do when traveling). Certainly, paper books it’s really lacking - you can take a small paperback or buy a convenient flipbook, or you can visit a bookstore abroad (it’s unlikely that there will be books in Russian, but what’s not a reason to brush up on your forgettable English?).

Expensive jewelry

There is nothing to talk about here - it is better to leave expensive jewelry at home.

In your opinion, what should you take with you on a trip? What items can't you live without while traveling? Write in the comments!

What to take with you to the sea in terms of clothes and shoes.

If you are flying to another country, then first of all take an interest in its climatic features. In mountainous areas, for example, despite hot days, the nights can be quite cool, and in all tropical and subtropical countries there is a season when it rains for several months in a row. Having assessed the climate of the region, you can definitely take warm clothes and clothes with you for rainy weather or leave space in your suitcase free for other things that you simply need to take with you to the sea.

If you are going on vacation at sea in your car, then the volume of things is limited only by the size of the trunk. But if you fly by plane, you will have to take into account the weight of the suitcase. According to the rules of most airlines, you can carry up to 20-22 kg and hand luggage up to 10 kg free of charge as baggage. You will have to pay a lot for the advantage. If you plan to fly on a budget flight (low-cost airline), you will have to pay for every kilogram you take with you on board the plane.
